It is a never ending interest rate. 110% interest rate please I beg you do not use them

Wish I could give a minus five stars, they are working with Tramerigo who are thrives. I canceled this within 24 hours after I realized this service was not a good discount and I was never going to use it. They did not honor my request and Monterey Financial Services is in collaboration with this act of contained thievery .

I filed a Small Claims, CFPB, and FTC complaints against Monterey Financial. I wrote a Cease and Desist in a email because filed two complaints with the federal government and a Small Claims. I told them to stop calling me unless your Attorney reaches out to me.They are not allowing to make payments online and the Staff is super rude.I guess Monterey Financial thinks that they are over the Federal Law I requested a Cease and Desist until hear from their Attorney. I cannot wait for Court because I'm going to eat them for Dinner.

The worst company to deal with...not sure how people working for this company can sleep at night..I guess desperate times calls for desperate measures.....Avoid this company like the plague, Nothing but negative feedback from this company. I DO NOT recommend doing busy with this company!!!

Worst experience ever! All they offer are predatory loans with super high interest rates. Steer clear of this financial institution. I truly hope the BBB shuts them down.

Purchased a dog from a local pet shop back in June 2023. Been making on-time payments since day 1. These last few months since November 2024 have been issues with them applying extra processing fees because the payments have been declined. I have talked to my bank and they said there’s nothing that’s preventing any stop payments or for it to be declined on my banks end. They have claimed that another card of mine on file has been declined for payments so I called that bank as well and same thing. Nothing is preventing any stop payments. I feel like they are frauding the consumer by acting like your bank has declined payments but Monterrey Financial wants to incur more fees. I don’t trust them

The worst scam company in history. NEVER DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY OR YOU WILL REGRET IT! They work together with Credova. I purchased a classic pistol from gun.com for a total cost of $1,300. They financed it for $3,000—more than triple the value of the weapon—over 24 months.

I tried to pay it off within 3 months to avoid interest, but they told me I only had 30 days to pay in full without incurring huge fees. In the end, I paid it off—with an additional $15 charge just for paying by phone—and a total of $2,200, which is $900 more than the actual cost of the gun.

But it didn’t stop there. They claimed they had canceled the automatic payments and that the debt was fully paid off. Instead, they sneakily applied my payment to future months, and the scheduled payments continued as if I still owed money—as per the contract, they said.

DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH THIS FRAUDULENT, TRASH COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. I seriously don’t know how this business is still allowed to operate!

Paid off my loan early but Monterey deducted the payment. Been waiting 18 dàys for the money to be reimbursed. Now it's been over a month and no reimbursement

The first two people were respectful as well as clearly spoken
However, when Brittney came on the line to actually process my payment ——-
She was RUDE — so unprofessional ——not necessary— I felt as if she were trying to provoke me —-no wonder people are reluctant to call back with payments!

Stay far away from Monterey Financial. I recently purchased an item and financed through Credova for 90 days no interest. The account was automatically sent to Monterey Financial. The statements on Monterey Financial DO NOT reflect 90 days no interest whatsoever. I paid off the load IN FULL within the 90 days, and after making the payment, Monterey deducted another $100 from my bank account even though the account was paid in full. Reps on their phone can verify that my account was paid however the statement that's supposedly updated daily, still reflects an outstanding principle. It took them 2 weeks to refund the $100 and I still have not received it, and Monterey is claiming they can't close the account until I receive the refund. This company is disorganized and has inaccurate records, they should lose their licensing. I have had to call them 4-5 times and NOTHING has been resolved. STAY FAR AWAY.

I so regret this loan. It's true I am running an behind with my payments, but I went on the website on many occasions just to pay some of my interest so it willn't escalate and was unable to. Sometimes I feel this is how they make their money. Interest rate is so high, and the makes it so difficult for customers. Not to talk about their rude customer service reps.

I tried to make a payment on my account with Monterey Financial Services to find that 2 of the websites they offer are corrupted with dangerous viruses, and now I am having numerous anti-virus companies sending Security Alerts soliciting me to purchase their software. I paid for McAfee (which is still requiring payment after they charged my bank account...!!) Very maddening sequence of events: especially after reading many prior complaints!!

This is the worst place to get a loan! They said I could get no interest until October which was one month and a half after getting my loan but they still charged me for it the first two billing cycles. Then after that, they charge me $15 for a payment over the phone or its $10 online. A girl had told me last month in October that it falls down to $3 a day which my interest which is completely stupid as i tried paying off my loan this Monday the 18th and it was 167$. The girl over the phone said it was 171 payoff amount. They make it almost impossible to pay off my loan. Twice I sent big checks to pay this off early and when youre in auto pay, youre not supposed to get charged for the payment fee and they still do it anyway if you want to pay off your loan. Im so over this dumb company. Never again will I ask for a loan from this company

This company cannot improve they are bottom of the barrel why else would they team up with a predator company like "great resort vacations" I'm gonna wait for great resort to call and say that I have won another free trip and I'm gonna set up an appointment every day and stand outside and tell people walking through the door what a mistake they are making and then when some representative from great resort vacations tells me that I need to leave I'm going to calmly and respectfully high five their face with my foot.

Absolutely horrible bank to do business with. Late payment? Fee. Paying your bill? Fee. Want to set up reoccurring payments? Not only are they going to take it out early but there’s a fee for that. Want to view your account? Shockingly there is no fee. Tons of hidden fees. You will be paying off the money you borrow from this company till dooms day. Best advice is to seek funds from any other bank on the planet.

Trying to pay off my financed purchase ahead of schedule has never been more difficult. In one instance, my scheduled payment was not processed because they deemed the early payment was my error.
This review is being written the day after my scheduled, "early" last payment and I have to follow up with calls asking why they delayed in processing my payment, again.

Predatory lender. They make things as difficult as possible to pay off your balance so that they can increase fees and overcharge you.

BUYER BEWARE! Financing through Cordova who sells your loan to Monterey Financial, these finance companies use unscrupulous tactics to rip you off and steal your money by the deceptive advertising practices. They offer 90 days same as cash, I was approved several months ago through a different Firearms dealer and paid off the gun before the 90 days.
I went through the same Finance company both times, the second time I thought it was the same deal because on website it says 90 days same as cash, by the time I realized it was already too late and I ended up paying close to double for the gun in just over 30 days

I tried to pay my monthly payment for my Career Step loan several times. I was very confused as to why the loan payment would not process. I had a similar problem last month. I finally called and spoke with an agent at Monterey Financial yesterday morning because my frustration with the unprocessed payments surpassed my reluctance to interact with an agent. I have had very negative experiences with agents at Monterey Financial. Yesterday morning the agent and I went over my payment method, the payment amount, and everything checked out fine. I checked my online banking and had no fraud alerts. I obtained the extension number of the agent, hung-up and called my bank. I discovered that the amount of money I authorized Monterey Financial to take from my account was not being honored and Monterey Financial was trying to take more. I called the agent back and told her that the amount that Monterey Financial was trying to take was ten dollars more than what I had authorized. The agent was surprised and relieved to discover what was happening. She explained that there was a ten-dollar processing fee on each payment made through the website. The problem is that this ten-dollar processing fee does not appear on my emailed receipt and I did not check a box acknowledging to pay a higher total than my agreed payment amount. When I did my banking, I only had in the bank account the near exact amount I authorized Monterey Financial to take from the account. This practice is the very definition of hidden fee. While the agent tried to read me the company’s legal ability to take more money than I was aware of, I interrupted her because the simple truth is that the practice is unethical. I have now been robbed in the form of excess fees/fines that have accumulated over a ten-dollar processing fee. A fee that has never been spoken of by any agent that I have spoken to in the last two months. It is amazing after all the trouble banks have gotten into over the last several years for unethical and absurd behavior, financial institutions still participate in such bad practices. It needs to be clearer, the amount of money that will be taken from one’s bank account. I truly believe it is intentionally unclear, as to provide the opportunity to steal money.
