5 star service from a 5 star company…

5 star service from a 5 star company that always exceeds expectations. Moving Nation is the moving company that almost everyone in my extended family uses, whether we are moving a home or an office. It is not just blind loyalty but a trust that Moving Nation has earned through many years and many, many great jobs they have completed for us. When you leave your possessions in their hand, you know they will deliver on time and without any damage. Our 3 bedroom home move to California was one of the best yet and we know we will be calling Moving Nation up for our next move, too.

The worst possible interstate move…

The worst possible interstate move ever. My home goods were lost and most were damaged. They held my property hostage and would not open the truck until I paid $4000 cash at delivery. Worst ever...never use them.

This was my first time hiring Moving…

This was my first time hiring Moving Nation for a move but I am pleased with the service and would recommend them. I usually use a different company for my moves but they recently went out of business so I was forced to look at others. Moving Nation happened to be in the same neighborhood so I popped in and the sales manager gave me a very good explanation of how they charge and showed how it could be cheaper without compromising on quality. I decided to try it out and they have done a wonderful job moving my 2-bedroom house to Maryland.

Wonderful Experience.

Absolutely wonderful experience with a very qualified team of movers. They arrived on time and delivered on time. In between, they managed to pack and load all my things in a way that ensured no damage whatsoever during a very long trip. Kudos. Looking forward to working with you again.

My first choice.

Choose this company only if you want a simple, straightforward move without all the hassles and confusion of the typical movers. I have used many others before and no one comes close to doing jobs at the same high quality but medium pricing like Moving Nation.

Not a trustworthy company

This is an honest review from a person who has used more than 5 moving companies over the past several years. Moving Nation is by far the worst moving company I dealt with and has a horrible customer service experience.
Our move was scheduled on a Sunday, driver did not show up on agreed arrival time and we had NO way to contact the company as the office is closed on Sundays! No rep, no nothing. The only contact info we had was a cell from one of the administrators who never answered our repeated calls. Such a professionalism! The driver eventually called us 5 hours later but we had to cancel the move as it interfered with our move-out schedule. They are not trustworthy. Not recommended.

Do not use this company

Do not use this company! They promise you lots of stuff when you sign with them. Told me he had overestimated my moving fee some to avoid later charges and I would probably receive a refund after the move. HOWEVER, once the time is past and too late for you to cancel without losing your deposit, the office calls and goes over the inventory list again and suddenly the price goes up even more money. Then it is impossible to get ahold of them and they do not return calls. If I did manage to get someone , they were extremely rude and would not answer questions or tell me which day they were going to pick up my stuff- even 2 days away from projected date was to early for them to tell me. When the truck arrives- it is a small, unmarked ( no name) truck. Immediately driver begins to tell you that you have more stuff than what is on his list (actually-I had gotten rid of some pieces). They make you sign a paper stating that it will be more but they can’t tell you how much until they load truck. At this point you have no choice. Then they tell you it is a lot more cubic feet and the cost is another couple thousand dollars ( so much for their ability to quote). They also don’t tell you that your stuff will be taken to one of their storage units and reloaded into there instead of just driving it directly to your new location. The driver gives me unreadable inventory lists and can’t provide me with a receipt for my payment, but promised better copies and my receipt would be emailed to me that night. Still have never received those. Then the wait begins- you cannot get an answer as to when delivery will be made and again no one will answer phone. The office finally tells me they will load the truck and it will be there in a few days and driver will call. No call from driver and no delivery of my items. In their propaganda- they state that they have a support team to help you track your delivery- wrong/ just two office people who won’t tell you anything. Then I receive a text from a driver saying he just finished a load a few hours north of me and he will be there the next day after 3- oh and they only accept cash or a post office money order for the balance. Finally around 4:30 that day, an outside contracted driver in an enterprise rental truck finally shows up followed by some one driving his own car that had been hired that day to help unload but had never done it before. Oh, and the driver had picked up my load an hour south of me so in reality my stuff was probably moved again to another storage area below me and the reason they couldn’t get to me until the end of the day was that they had to reload truck. My boxes and totes arrived smashed in, sides ripped open , holes torn in boxes and dish and glass boxes were upside down. Things that were packed by me in boxes originally were loose and no longer in boxes. All of my wood furniture was scratched and wood finish on edges of pieces worn away despite being wrapped. We had to throw away a recliner because we discovered that they had piled so much weight on it that it bent the bars on the bottom that supported the seat. I never received my silverware and some kitchen items. If you value your belongings and want a stress free, reasonable priced moving experience with a friendly helpful staff- this is not the company for you, I would give them 0 or negative stars if this were possible .

Stay Away from this company

Stay Away from this company! I hired them for a move from Washington to California. We had a "Binding Quote". When the movers showed up, they demanded extra money citing additional items that were clearly listed on the quote. I had to either pay up or loose deposit. They said they would be leaving that night for California. We were advised it would be 3-5 days as was indicated by their sales team. The maximum on the contract was 10 business days which was told to me would not take anywhere near that long. It's been over 10 business days and our stuff has not left Washington yet. They refuse to provide updates on where it is or provide any guidance. They refuse to tell me where are stuff is being held or when it will be delivered.

BEWARE Borderline Fraudulent/ drunk movers

I found the movers who came to pick up rummaging through my personal belongings.

I was told a 7 day window to ship to Texas would not be a problem. It took 17 days. In fact the day it was supposed to be delivered Moving Nation couldn’t even provide an ETA.

The driver who delivered was extremely rude and sat in his air conditioned cab while I helped unload half the truck. He also tried charging extra for the stairs inside which I was told were included. By the way, he only went up the stairs 3 times.

The movers were hired on Craigslist and absolutely reeked of alcohol unloaded the truck. I am sure though that these gentlemen were fully vetted before entering my home with my wife and children.

Overall, my experience was terrible. I hope others don’t have to go through the same.

STILL WAITING ON MY STUFF!!!

STILL WAITING ON MY STUFF!!!! Moving Nation picked up my stuff from my old address on JUNE 23RD, and it is now August 5th and my items still have not even been shipped out of their original place. 43 DAYS WITHOUT MY STUFF EVEN STARTING TO MAKE ITS WAY TO MY FINAL DESTINATION. And every phone call is met with "We are trying but they aren't able to ship it yet" No answers, as to when it will be shipped besides hearing either "the end of the week" or "tomorrow" now imagine hearing that for 6 weeks straight. Save your money and time and look elsewhere than this company if you need to move.

Horrible Experience

OMG, This company is the absolute worst. I should have gone with a more established company for a few thousand more and I would have my furniture on time. It has been over a month an d my furniture is still somewhere in CA when we moved to east coast a month ago.

I cannot get anyone on the phone and we have been having to eat frozen dinners with plastic cutlery because we already have spent too much on hotels and eating out. I am not sure how this company can get good ratings.

Beyond words...paid for extra services. yes. delivered. NO. up charges, yes. Absolute crap? 5 thumbs up!! These guys promise service but deliver crap...BUYER beware of their slick salesmen...they have NO control of the process… experts at passing the buck on service..

Moving Nightmare

If this isn't the worst moving company in the US, it's certainly a contender for the title. We were supposed to move from Maryland to Georgia on July 15, with delivery on the 17th, but then they changed the move date to the 16th, but with delivery still the next day, which meant one of us had to leave on the 16th to be there when the truck arrived. The movers, who were doing the packing, were supposed to arrive between 8 and 11AM, but they didn't get to our house until 1PM, and the van didn't arrive until 5PM. There were six men doing the packing. Some of them did it right, but others just threw things in boxes. They had to be told three times to pack the microwave. They didn't get through until after 9PM, and the house was filthy, with bits of tape all over the place. One guy managed to knock a hole in the living room wall. My wife asked who would pay for the repair, and the leader of the crew said his company would contact her the next day. Never happened. The driver of the van said he was tired and might not deliver until the 18th, which would have been okay, since I was in a hotel in North Carolina that night, and my wife only managed to get as far as Strasburg, Virginia because it was so late.

The truck did turn up late in the afternoon of the 17th. Six guys had done the packing, but only two did the unloading. They worked hard, but there was so much to unload that they were simply piling up boxes and didn't have time to put back together properly furniture that had been dismantled. My wife and I had to put some things together, and we had to do a lot of the unwrapping that the movers should have been doing in order to speed things along. The movers piled boxes in the garage up to the ceiling, higher than we could reach. Heavy boxes ended up on top of light ones, and some things were on the wrong floor or in the wrong room. They didn't get through until after midnight. And there was a $75 fee, payable in cash, because we have steps in the house.

The real horror started the next day when we began unpacking. We couldn't tell what was in boxes because they were unmarked or not correctly marked. The sheer stupidity of what the packers did boggled the mind. Some of my suits, sport coats, and dress pants were thrown on the bottom of a box and boxes of my wife's shoes and some loose shoes thrown on top of them. My compact disc player, unwrapped, was tossed on top of ceramic figures and my blood pressure monitor, and in another box a small candle was heavily wrapped in paper, a larger candle was wrapped in bubble wrap, but a ceramic figure was wrapped only in a single sheet of paper. The contents of three of my desk drawers were dumped in a box and the desk lamp, which has a glass shade, was thrown on top, unwrapped. Another glass-topped lamp suffered a similar fate, as was an $800 lamp shade. Another lamp shade was turned upside down and used as a bucket to hold gloves, umbrellas, and other items from our hall closet. My wife's desk chair is damaged to the point it can't be used, and the antique dining table can't be closed unless both leafs are in it. I had to buy new underwear and socks because I couldn't find what I had. A week after the move, we still can't find, among other things, my stereo turntable, a tool box, my pajamas, and any of the unopened packaged food items, including a good many packages of expensive coffees.

Moving is never fun, but Moving Nation turned it into a nightmare. I might recommend them to my worst enemy, but not to anyone else.

I'm in the middle of a move with them…

I'm in the middle of a move with them right now.
It's been the worst experience of my life. Communication from them has been horrible. They give you little to no advance notice about pickup or delivery. I now incurring storage and redelivery fees because of this. Who knows what shape my furniture will be once it's finally delivered

caution!

I was rushed into signing with reassurance that I could cancel if needed. I have called numerous times, and they keep saying I'll have my manager call you. That doesn't happen. I'm cancelling within 24 hours, and want my deposit back. I'm giving 1 star for truthfulness.

STAY AWAY-THEY ARE TERRIBLE

I hired these guys for a move from the Bay area to St. Louis. They were great when they wanted my business but it went down hill from there. They picked up my stuff on March 7 and it stayed in storage in Sacramento for almost 2 weeks. I called every day to get a status on when it would be dispatched. My husband was going to drive out to St. Louis to receive the goods and needed a 2 day window to get there.I was assured daily that we would have plenty of time to get there and we would be told as soon as the truck was dispatched. We got a call at 6 pm on a Saturday saying they were delivering between 8-9 the next morning (Sunday). No warning. We had to scramble and find someone to receive the goods. We were also told by Luke that we could pay the entire move (3 payments) by credit card. Of course this was also not true. They wanted the final payment in cash which caused another issue because we needed to get the cash to St. Louis by 8 am Sunday morning and only found out about it at 6 pm on Saturday. To make things worse, they insisted on charging us another $350 for a shuttle because they said they could not double park their 18 wheeler in front of the house which would not have been a problem on a Sunday. Just a scam to extort more money. Finally, they charged another $75 for the few steps into the first floor that they had to deliver to. They lost one of the wood pieces from the bed so could not assemble it fully so its not level. They damaged the front door bringing the furniture in and scratched up the floor. And to top it off they left all the trash (packing materials etc) in the front of the house- did not clean up after themselves. NO TIP, NO WAY. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS. THEY SUCK!!!
