A stressful and upsetting experience

We had a very upsetting and stressful experience with this company that genuinely affected my mental health. We ordered acoustic wall panelling from this company but the wrong colour turned up and one panel was damaged. I won't go into everything that happened on here as I found it exhausting and traumatic and do not wish to revisit. No doubt they will leave a long defensive response as per other one star reviews but we know what we saw on their website and it was not what we received. We had to fight tooth and nail via endless emails just to get them to agree to pay for return postage. Subsequently we ended up nearly £70 out of pocket as they would not cover full postage refund. We did not order any replacement panels as decided we could no longer trust them. Overall a very upsetting and stressful experience. We would definitely not order anything else from this company and obviously would not recommend.

We’re sorry to hear you feel this way about your experience.

To clarify the full situation from our side, your original enquiry was for a 2.8m wall panel, which we do not stock. You were directed to our website to view the available sizes and colour options. The initial finish you wanted (natural oak) was out of stock at the time. You then asked about walnut, and during a phone conversation we advised this would be significantly darker than your setting, as you had explained you already have dark furniture in the room.

You selected the walnut, which is shown on our website, and placed your order based on the product listing. This was also confirmed in your order confirmation email with images and full product details prior to dispatch.

You also contacted us to request delivery to the Isle of Wight. We advised that this is not a location we typically deliver to, but offered to see if we could source a courier on your behalf. We were able to arrange this and clearly communicated the associated cost. As a gesture of goodwill, we contributed towards this cost to assist you prior to placing the order, despite this being outside of our standard service offering.

When your goods were delivered, one panel was unfortunately damaged in transit. We acknowledged this immediately and offered a full free replacement to resolve the issue, including arranging replacement stock at no cost to you.

At that stage, you advised you no longer wanted a replacement due to concerns about the colour being too dark for your room, despite this being consistent with the product you had selected and previously confirmed before purchase.

We then worked with you over a number of emails to find a resolution. Although the items supplied matched the order placed and were not incorrectly advertised, we still offered flexibility beyond our policy. This included initially agreeing to remove handling fees, then contributing towards return costs as a goodwill gesture, even though return postage and handling fees for correctly supplied goods are normally the customer’s responsibility under our policy.

Despite this, you remained unhappy, and after further discussions we ultimately agreed to cover the full return costs, with the exception of the original outbound delivery charge, which is non-refundable as stated in our terms.

We are sorry you felt the experience was stressful. From our perspective, we did everything reasonably possible to assist, including offering a replacement, multiple goodwill contributions towards returns, and ultimately full return support despite the order being fulfilled as per the confirmed specification.

We always aim to be transparent with product listings, communicate clearly before purchase, and support customers fairly where issues arise.

Throughout the process we also apologised to you several times for the inconvenience caused, even though the issue was not due to any error on our part. As per our email correspondence, we apologised on multiple occasions in an effort to assist and de-escalate the situation, despite the order being fulfilled correctly.

We are disappointed you have left us a 1-star review despite the fact we went above and beyond to help resolve the situation and, on multiple occasions, stepped outside of our own company policy in order to assist you.

We feel it is unfair that there has been no acknowledgement of the support and assistance provided to you at every stage of this process.

Going forward, we would strongly encourage customers to carefully read our policies and product information before placing an order to help ensure a smooth and straightforward purchasing process.

Contacted promtly to say item out of stock, advised another item which I agreed to. Delivered quickly. I was contacted as I was told about delivery, and got items in a few days. I will use this company again.

Had a good look at other options and this company had the best deal and great quality items. Arrived on schedule, easy to assemble and it looks fantastic. Great service all round with no issues.

My cheap made in China furnishings

Not your forever furnishing at all. Low quality, outrageously overpriced drop shipped tut from China.

I doubt the owners have ever seen any of the products they sell in real life given everything is shipped directly from China. A quick reverse image search shows multiple sellers using the exact same manufacturer's image to sell the same products.

Dining room chair legs were wobbly and screws constantly needed tightening from the offset. One of the chairs gave out and completely flattened after only 2 years of mild use.

Owners blamed us for the fault and did the bare minimum to help rectify the issue, agreeing to sell us a single replacement chair at the original price. They then went back and issued a warning on their website to tighten the screws every 6 months on the product page. Not what you expect for £240 for a pair of dining chairs and certainly not anything I have ever had to do on other chairs I owned before.

Save yourself the hassle and spend your money somewhere the buyers have actually verified the quality of their products.

We work with a small selection of trusted manufacturers and suppliers who meet our quality and design standards. Every item we sell is chosen carefully to ensure it meets our customers’ expectations for craftsmanship and durability.

Had you contacted us within the first few months or even within the first year of purchase, we would have been more than happy to replace the chairs free of cost. As you didn’t report any issues within the one-year warranty period, unfortunately we were unable to replace them through our manufacturer. After two years of use, it becomes very difficult to determine the cause of any damage or wear.

We did our best to offer a fair resolution based on the information and timeframe provided, and we’re sorry that this outcome hasn’t met your satisfaction.

Ugly dining table (Chicago)

Ugly dining table, cheap quality, deceiving description, entirely different colour from the description. Worst purchase that has ruined my living/dining room. Taught me a lesson of never purchasing any furniture online. A dining table that worths £50 is being sold for £500.

I hope that no one falls in the trap snd but the so called (black and gold Chicago dining table) as the actual colour is whitish grey with few brown veins.

We are disappointed to hear your comments regarding the Chicago dining table. While we understand the item did not meet your personal expectations, we must reiterate the facts of the situation.

Had you contacted us upon opening the item—before assembling it or discarding the packaging—we would have been able to arrange a return and refund in accordance with our returns policy. However, by the time you reached out, the table had already been fully assembled and the original packaging had been discarded.

As stated clearly in our Returns Policy:
“The item(s) must be unused, in the original packaging, and in the same condition that you received it.”

Additionally, we do not accept returns for items that have been:

Assembled or modified (whether self-assembled or assembled by our courier)

Not in original packaging or poorly packaged

These conditions were communicated to you multiple times via both phone and email. As a result, we are unable to process a return or refund in this instance.

Despite this, we still offered a 5% discount as a gesture of goodwill, even though the product no longer met the criteria for return. This was a genuine attempt to acknowledge your dissatisfaction while remaining within the bounds of our policy.

Occasionally, discrepancies can occur due to manufacturer variations, and we do our best to address these promptly and fairly. However, it remains the customer’s responsibility to notify us of any issues before assembling or disposing of packaging.

Given our attempts to offer a resolution and the constraints of our policy, we do not believe that a 1-star review fairly reflects the level of support and communication we have provided throughout this process.

We appreciate that online shopping can sometimes be challenging, but in this case, we believe we have acted reasonably and in line with our clearly stated policies.

Going forward, we strongly advise that for any future purchases, you contact the retailer to raise any concerns immediately upon receipt—prior to assembling the item or disposing of its original packaging—to ensure a smoother resolution process.
