Only use if you're desperate for diagnosis
If you are confident you have ADHD and just need an affordable diagnosis, then it's probably worth it. However, in my experience, you can't expect a high level of service or care. If you aren't confident of your diagnosis and/or require a supportive service, I recommend looking elsewhere (although the prices being charged by a lot of private providers are pretty disgusting).
Pros:
1) One of the more affordable options for private ADHD assessment.
2) Assessments with psychiatrists are available.
3) Appointments available almost immediately.
Cons:
1) The service is not tailored to people with ADHD (e.g. no appointment reminder containing the appointment time - pretty basic requirement for an ADHD service)
2) Dr Jain briefly took a call during our assessment. He did ask me if it was okay and I said yes (I was surprised and didn't feel able to say no), and it was a brief call, but I still feel that it was unprofessional.
3) There were distracting noises at different points during the assessment, including what I think were alerts on Dr Jain's phone.
4) I chose Dr Jain in part because he mentions the importance of treating patients with "respect, compassion and warmth" in his "about me", which I strongly agree with. However, I did not feel I received much compassion, warmth, or empathy during the assessment.
5) It did not feel like Dr Jain was always paying attention to and/or absorbing what I was saying. There were multiple times he got the information wrong when he repeated it back to me and I had to correct him.
6) My diagnostic report was not received within 10 working days and I had to chase this.
7) There were multiple errors on my diagnostic report and I had to spend time correcting these.
I sent a complaint containing the above points to MyPace 2.5 weeks ago and have received no response.

As someone with a lot of anxiety I was very worried in the days/hours leading up to my diagnostic video call for adult ADHD. The online forms I was sent to fill in before hand were very easy to navigate and send back and I was happy to see I got reminder emails as well (very needed with ADHD).
As soon as Dr Sanju arrived on the call he first took the time to explain to me how the call was going to go which eased my anxiety straight away. I felt very comfortable and was also happy with how in depth the questioning was. After an hour it was finally confirmed to me that I have ADHD and I became very emotional. Dr Sanju said to take my time and was so understanding. Then went on to explain next steps and answer all my questions.
The email correspondence I’ve had after this has been great so far with sending out resource packs and explaining timelines. So far very happy with my experience with MyPace

😊😊😊😊
I had an online assessment with Dr Kamila Haider yesterday, she was amazing and made me feel at ease immediately, she listened to what I had to say patiently without rushing me, she was very understanding, caring and also very thorough, I can’t recommend Dr Haider and MyPace enough.

A very thorough assessment and highly recommended
A very thorough assessment. The doctor had read all of my notes and was well prepared for the session.
He was attentive, listened carefully, asked great questions and took lots of time to explain everything to me
I was very happy with my assessment and would recommend this to anyone looking to get a fast diagnosis

I booked an appointment with Mypace so that I could finally get diagnosed and start to medicate and try to repair some of the damage that has been done throughout my life. For me this was HUGE and when I got diagnosed i felt such a sense of relief. The assessment was easy and comfortable and I was listened to a diagnosed there and then. That's where the good part ends.
It's been 2 weeks exactly and I've yet to receive any written report or formal acknowledgement of my diagnosis.. without this, I am unable to begin titration. Without meds and titration my life is spiralling further and further into chaos.
I have emailed 3 times. No response. I have called and once spoken to somebody who recommended I give it a few more days and to call again so that they can chase up the Dr.
I had a missed call and a voicemail today telling me they have chased up the Dr who assessed me, in order to enquire as to where my report is and when I'm likely ro receive it. I was told 10 days at the point of assessment. Which has now surpassed.
I'm feeling very anxious at this point as I've hit a brick wall with my diagnosis. I had read previous reviews where patients had received their report well within the 10 day time frame guide. So I'm just a little confused as to why mine seems to have been forgotten.
Hopefully Mypace will sort this issue out quickly so that I can get the help I need! And I wouldn't mind, but it's not exactly cheap!

30/4/2024 - Edited my review and star rating to add the following information. I received a personal phone call from Omar this morning at around 11am and he was very reassuring and explained that sometimes there can be minor delays due to unforseen circumstances and helped to put my mind at ease. He promised to contact me in due course to update me of the outcome of his enquiries to the Dr.
7:00pm - I received the report from the Dr.
I was anxious, but now I see that I shouldn't have been so quick to be. I also felt a little guilty when he explained they had a high volume at present and the lady in the office was doing her best to respond to all current enquiries.
Overall the way my concerns were addressed were timely, and very promptly rectified! It has been a pleasure dealing with Omar and the lady who called me this morning (I think Rosie) was very helpful in addressing my concerns.
Thank you again!

Helped Solve a Complex Situation with Empathy, my Finances, and Admin Very Understanding and Helpful.
Dr Younus Saleem and MyPace took over and has frankly been my lifeline during a complex transition of my ADHD care from NHS England to NHS Scotland - where both systems do not seem to want to interact. Unable to obtain my medication, I went to Dr. Saleem, who was understanding of the situation and complexities and was aware of my previous diagnosis, who it was with, and tailored a very affordable way forward that will allow me access my medication until the NHS wants to take over. From the start, Dr. Saleem saw that my situation had a level of unfairness and was coming at a crucial period for me during my last semester at university. Access to the medication for this has been vital, given the impairments my severe ADHD causes to education and all areas of my daily life.
Dr. Saleem was personable, giving me his own email address for if I had troubles or questions - and, free of charge, wrote a letter to my GP in Scotland, advocating for them to take over my care on the NHS, knowing that I am a student and my financial situation.
I believe MyPace experiences a lot of emails so I have always contacted them via phone, where I spoke to Rosie. My situation was a little unique, but Rosie helped quickly get the answers and a treatment route sorted with the Dr. She completely understood my frustration around ADHD care with empathy. I have had no troubles getting through on the phone and answers back very quickly.
I would recommend MyPace & Dr Younus Saleem to anyone with a complex situation, or if you're at the beginning of your journey, be that with ADHD or something else. I felt understood and listened to, and I felt my frustration navigating two systems that do not want to talk to each other and the complexities involved. The pricing is fair, the admin so far has been fine for me, and advocating for me to be taken over by the NHS says a lot about Doctor and MyPace.
Thank you, Dr Younus Saleem and to the team.

Trust me - go for it!
I got my ADHD diagnosis back in 2022 through MyPace at age 30 after years of struggling. I was over the moon to find such an affordable private route, and incredibly l also only had to wait a couple of weeks after I booked my assessment.
My psychiatrist was Dr John Milton who was absolutely lovely, as well as very professional during my assessment and afterwards. He helped me through my treatment options and facilitated a Shared Care Agreement with my NHS GP after I was settled on my dose.
I also spoke with Dr Younus Saleem (Co-Founder/CEO/Clinical Director) over email and via phonecall a few times, again a very lovely man who was more than happy to help me himself or through giving the relevant department a nudge for me.
On top of that I also got so much help from Omar Khan, I think he was in the titration team at the time if I remember correctly. He went above and beyond with his customer service, always getting back to me not only quickly but thoroughly too, which meant so much to me as someone who worries/overthinks this much!
Two years after my treatment I’ve just contacted MyPace to retrieve a document, and Omar got back to me so fast. He even remembered me and said it was great to hear from me. I could cry, absolute legend. I was so happy to see he’s had a promotion too, incredibly well-deserved I say!
Thank you MyPace team for being a lifeline to me and so many other people out there who need(ed) it. It is so rare to find a team of people that truly care like this - you should all be so proud of the life changing work that you’re doing!

Excellent experience
Fantastic consultation with Dr. Younus Saleem.
I had originally cancelled my appointment after watching the BBC panorama documentary but after some time away to think, I came back and had a discussion with Omar Saleem-Khan, MyPace registered manger. After this conversation my faith was restored and he gave me the confidence in MyPace again. I was offered an appointment a few days late which was fantastic. I have been on the NHS ADHD waiting list for over 2 years and to be offered this appointment just days later was incredible.
After reading some of the other comments re clinicians not turning up for appointments I can honestly say that this has been remedied. Dr Saleem was running late for assessment and I emailed to enquire if it was still going ahead. I was called almost instantly by Omar who apologised for the tech issues and reassured me that the appointment was still going ahead. I received a genuine apology and not long after that, Dr Younus Saleem arrived for our virtual consultation.
Dr Saleem was extremely comprehensive, holistic, friendly, reassuring and helpful. He went through all of the pre assessment questionnaires as well as a detailed assessment of my past medical history (physical and mental health).
I came away with a diagnosis of ADHD. Dr Saleem was compassionate and patient, explaining feelings I may experience with accepting post diagnosis. I felt listened to and not rushed or dismissed. Dr Saleem even took the time to speak to my Husband after my assessment which I thought was excellent patient care. Taking time to listen and understand made us feel valued and being in my 40s I wasn’t made to feel in any way ridiculous for seeking a late diagnosis.
Treatment options were sent to me by Omar digitally very promptly and I am awaiting my report for my GP for shared care which I have been informed of the timeframes for this which are incredibly swift. I am a health professional myself and I am impressed with the care and attention that I have received so far.
Omar called after my consultation to discuss the next steps of the process. I honestly could not fault this service or recommend MyPace enough if you are seeking an ADHD assessment and treatment.

a great experience all round
quick review following my session with Dr Saleem.
I didn't know what to expect in the session so was tentatively nervous which was unfounded. Dr Saleem spent the first few minutes of the session reassuring me of what to expect and generally putting me at ease- this was the theme of the whole session.
I never once felt judged or uncomfortable as we explored my experiences and history, and while some of the experiences were uncomfortable to revisit and describe I felt supported throughout and dealt with empathy.
I could not recommend Dr Saleem highly enough, his competence is matched by his supportiveness and friendliness.
For MyPace generally, the subsequent appointments have been quick and painless as has the titration process- I can't believe I have been functioning so long without treatment. It feels like life has been switched from 'difficult' setting to 'normal'. I'm excited for the future and would encourage anyone considering exploring diagnosis withy mypace to foillow through.

MyPace assessment
My assessment was with Dr Haider who is a registered UK based psychiatrist. I found the assessment was prompt and thorough and the Dr was friendly and answered my questions. Any emails I sent were answered on the same day. I've decided against medication so only used them for the diagnostic process and am happy with how everything went.

I couldn’t recommend mypace anymore
I couldn’t recommend mypace anymore, I work as part of a NHS mental health team myself and the Mypace staff are professional and highly skilled at what they do. I was diagnosed with ADHD and put on meds, they also helped so much to get my shared care agreement and I fast tracked having to wait 3+ years to even get somewhere with my ADHD.
Thanks so much, Adam fletcher, Dr’s and also the admin staff (Rosie)
Amazing!

I would recommend this service for…
I would recommend this service for people who either want the cheapest private assessment ADHD diagnosis or only want a diagnosis.
Their time is very fast and efficient and the diagnosis was great, the psychiatrist went really in depth and it was great. I have Dr Sanjay, he was great and didn’t force me or push me to go the treatment route.
If you are someone who likes things fast paced and don’t like overly complicated stuff and prefers a more laid back approach. The titrating team is exactly that. It could’ve knocked one star out of me due to their care not people really on top but I realised that it would be easier to have a team like this than one that’s always down your back and would make a mountain out of a molehill if you asked to increase dosages or add a booster ETC. though these can have pros and cons.
in conclusion, i’m glad i went for them.

I believe this company is taking…
I believe this company is taking advantage of desperate neurodivergent people. We have tried to get them to follow through on what they promise only to be charged more and more money with no follow through on care. They schedule appointments only to not call and never reschedule. They have shut off their phones since August 2023 and it seems they have no plan to reinstate their phone line. This is a major red flag.
We are desperately trying to get the letter to switch the prescription to NHS. MyPace is holding us hostage by not following through with scheduled appointments and saying we have to pay them another £180 to get the letter. We’ve been charged almost £1000 by this company for one of the worst experiences of care ever. This is what leads me to believe they are predatory of desperate families unable to wait the many years to get NHS treatment.
Avoid this company. They cannot reliably follow through on what they promise. I believe the Quality Care Commission should shut this company down for negligence.

Completely ghosted me, doubted me, diagnosed me but told me "i cope fine". Never gave me a follow-up or sent me any documents, wasted my money and time. Assessment was very dry and I did not feel very listened to.

Hidden costs
Hidden costs - I wasn't even provided with an appropriate letter or document I could take to my University, the one GP letter they provided me with contained sensitive information. The psychiatrist cut the assessment short and only seemed concerned with whether I wanted to titrate on the medication - costing an extra £600-700.
It felt like a factory line diagnosis - hundreds of pounds to confirm what I already knew. I wish I had saved my money and waited for NHS.

I felt confident that MyPace assessed me properly. Precription turnaround times need to be improved
I felt the need to write a review of MyPace UK, considering the growing amount of negative press towards private ADHD clinics.
MyPace UK definitely has some issues, but I have been happy with the diagnosis process.
I never considered that I might have ADHD, it was only when I started going to therapy that this was suggested to me, and my therapist progressed my treatment as if I was ADHD (and ASD).
I was sceptical about the benefits of taking stimulants for ADHD (it seemed so counterproductive), but after speaking with people about how much of a positive impact medication had, I decided I proceed with a formal diagnosis.
Like many undiagnosed ADHD people, I was faced with years wait. I am self-employed and felt that the return on investment from fixing my problems would be greater than the cost of diagnosis (I had just made a stupid, impulsive business decision that had already cost me thousands).
For the diagnosis, I had to submit several pre-assessment forms, including:
• Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS) V.1.1.
• Blood Pressure, Weight, Resting Heart Rate
• An ADHD self-report with 9 questions each for inattention and hyperactivity symptoms and yes/no questions about the areas it affected my life.
• An informant report which was the same as the self-report but required a parent/guardian/partner to complete. Someone that has known you long enough to experience how these issues affect your life.
Then, concerned I didn’t provide enough information, I submitted my own notes consisting of 3000+ words in a list.
The assessment was scheduled to last 90 minutes, and this is how long it lasted. Multiple NHS trusts say assessments can last 90 minutes, others say 1 to 2 hours.
My assessment was done by Dr Vasudevan Namboodiri a GMC registered doctor who specialises in psychiatry.
I found his assessment was both professional and thorough. However, it was stressful at times because he asked plenty of follow-up questions and wanted to hear about examples of times I experienced problems both in my childhood and adult life and how much of an impact it had on my life. I can get into a bit of a fluster, and it felt like I was getting a grilling.
He also referenced some of the details from my reports and the notes I had submitted.
At the end of the assessment, I was extremely anxious because it felt like he was building up to a negative diagnosis, but he explained how he was trying to asses how badly my life was affected by ADHD and gave me a diagnosis of moderately severe combined ADHD.
He then went on to discuss treatment options and that I didn’t have to take them, the possible risks and asked a variety of questions to assess my current medical health, both physical and mental. I have experienced issues with depression all my life, and he confirmed that the medication wouldn’t necessarily fix that issue, as it could be related to other problems in my life rather than a result of my ADHD. He also confirmed that the medication wouldn’t fix everything ADHD related and that I should consider (or continue, in my case) therapy.
The titration prescription came through quickly, and I had to increase my dosage by 10mg per week over 6 weeks.
Each week I had to submit a report with my blood pressure, heart rate, weight. Then any side effects I had experienced and a progress report.
When it came to my 2nd round of titration and follow-up prescriptions, I did have a few issues with the organisation of this company. They state it can take 7 working days for a prescription to arrive. So, for titration, you need to really be booking either a second round of titration or your follow-up appointment 2 weeks prior to the end. However, this didn’t give me a chance to try 60mg properly before committing to a dosage. As a result, I ended up going a few days without medication because it took so long for the script to come through.
The follow-up appointment lasted about 30 minutes. The doctor discussed any side effects and the progress I had made to see how much ADHD was still impacting my life. He once again asked questions to confirm my physical and mental health before he committed to sending the shared care agreement to my GP. He also suggested I try other things to help my ADHD, I had already confirmed I went to therapy, lived a healthy life and was very fit. He suggested I also look into mindfulness.
Repeat prescriptions aren’t as bad as titration. I just need to remember to book the script almost two weeks before I run out of medication.
Overall, I am happy with the diagnostic process and feel confident that MyPace assessed me properly. The only negative is that it could really do with improving the turnaround time for prescriptions, especially for people on titration.

Do not recommend.
The standard of ‘care’ I am receiving at MyPace has been and continues to be nothing short of awful. Their communication is horrendous. They have no phone number (that is answered). This wouldn’t be a problem if they replied to emails. They very rarely do. MyPace haven't even replied to formal complaints when following the complaints procedure on their own website.
The list of issues I have had with their communication seems never ending but as an NHS employee I am shocked a private healthcare service is allowed to operate like this. In my opinion it feels like a poorly managed cash grab set up in response to the huge demand for adult diagnose and treatment. I believe the lack of patient care and excessive disorganisation is actually potentially very dangerous, especially when dealing with people likely to already experience poor mental health.
I found booking an initial assessment easily, the consultant good and very knowledgeable, all done online. Unfortunately, it has been all downhill from there:
- No response to almost all emails to any MyPace address. They have now removed their phone number from their website.
- First prescription delayed as they didn’t have a record of my vitals. Information I had already given them (in writing) twice on the day of my assessment.
- Wrong prescription for medication sent despite emailing them to tell them the dosage information I’d received was for the wrong medication, days in advance of posting.
- According to information provided my assessment report should have been sent to me within 3 weeks. 7 weeks on and several calls and emails later I discovered the consultant had written the assessment up but it just hadn’t been sent to me via the admin system.
- Written formal complaint ignored despite being told someone ‘will get back to me’ several times.
- I was told by my consultant to book a mandatory follow up appointment for 4 weeks after starting titration. This was delayed as first prescription took over 2 weeks to arrive (and then it was the wrong prescription). When I then went to book online after receiving the right prescription (as instructed) there were no appointments available with any consultant. No response to my emails/telephone requests to book for weeks, I actually assumed they had ceased trading and I would run out of medication.
- Mandatory follow up appointments became available 3 weeks later which I had to discover on my own, having to regularly check their website due to not being able to contact anyone at MyPace.
- For the second time the manager said he would chase up my written assessment/appointment booking, and ‘it might take 24 hours’. It has now been over 3 weeks since then and the second time this person has promised to ‘get back to me'.
- MyPace haven’t registered with ISCAS so there is no way to complain out with contacting MyPace who don’t follow their own complaint procedure. They have the logo on their website but they have not yet been inspected by the Care Quality Commission.
- I did receive a response quickly to a weekly titration feedback email (I had high blood pressure) and I was 'assured' that my treatment was ‘going to plan’. Unfortunately I am still completely unaware of whatever this plan is as it is different from the information I have been sent.
- I have no way of contacting the consultant directly so you are at the mercy of the terrible admin.
- I didn’t feel there is any point in contacting MyPace with any medication based questions when they don't respond effectively to anything else. It took 7 weeks for anyone to tell me that I could submit the weekly titration form more than once with any titration questions. Luckily my sister is a consultant and I work for the NHS so I have relied on other health professionals.
I very much doubt MyPace will care at all about my review, it is nothing I haven’t sent to them directly only for it to be ignored. Like I said, MyPace have told me that (in their view) my treatment is ‘going to plan’. Although, I was also told that the manager would contact me about my complaints and that hasn’t happened…yet again.
I am keen on sharing my experience (so far) as I wish there were reviews when I was choosing a provider. I would not have chosen MyPace. I do not recommend MyPace if you are looking for even the most basic level of patient-centered care.
I am extremely concerned by the care provided
I am extremely concerned by the care provided by this company and I am an NHS professional myself.
- The telephone assessment made no reference to the assessment submitted by my family (as they requested) and was generally very brief.
- The follow up assessment letter was not only extremely poorly written from a professional and diagnostic perspective, it also did not actually make sense in many areas and was not accurate in what we discussed. Luckily working as a registered health professional, I was able to completely redraft the assessment letter to make it not only make sense and reflect the facts, but also so it more closely matched DSM diagnostic criteria. There was an extremely high likelihood that the GP would not have accepted the diagnosis if the original letter had been sent.
- I requested some additional support - another psychiatrist to review the draft to double check it made sense as the previous doctor had just accepted all of my many amendments - and they took 8 days to reply to my written concerns.
- The rang me on day 8, promising a call back the next day with an update regarding who/when the letter will be reviewed. It is now 13 days after that call and I have heard nothing. I have sent further chase up correspondence and had no reply.
