This benefit nations is horrible. I got it with my Medicare advantage plan. The online products which are few are disgusting and high!!! I tried using it in the store and nothing was eligible. Price gauging is what this is!!!

I signed up for a new Medicare Advantage Plan (HealthTeam Advantage - Cardinal Plan) because I was told that there would be a $145 quarterly expense fund for over-the-counter items. I was excited about that but found out day one that their app will tell you something is eligible and when you go to pay at the register 1/2 the items are not eligible! It's useless to call and and inquire about an item because their rep. told me to buy a name brand item at twice the cost??? If you're looking for a Medicare Advantage plan avoid the ones with a NationsBenefits Flex wallet!!! There's a lot better OTC card benefits available out there. Do your research and choose wisely.

I called the number on the back of the card and it went to HTA. The same can be said about going to NB's main site: ( If you are a Member calling about one of your supplemental benefits, please call the Toll-Free Number provided to you by your health plan related to that benefit, or you can access your account online.) I did this and was told that the scanner was supposed to be removed because of all the complaints!

I'll try to contact NB's but I'm not spending hours playing tag you're it with emails!

I don't know if they are fraud or what. I can't activate my account. They told me to download the app. Something told me that didn't sound right. I'm glad I came here and saw all of these bad reviews before I downloaded it.

What experience? I've used anthem NB for 3 years now. 1st yr was great. Ordered from local grocery online. 2nd year not so much. Learned not to order any canned goods - dented, swollen, bent in half. Off brands - not the pictured ones. In Dec '24, finally offered freshly prepared meals, 6 for under $50. No way am I giving out my debit card to these people. Meals were pretty good. Several had black beans to which I am allergic. No way to note this when ordering. I gotta eat, I can't always make my own, so I picked the black beans out. This month, a new year, I cannot order, can't scroll, can't select, can't reach NB by phone, can't stay on eternal hold long enough to talk to a NB OR an anthem rep. I guess I'll try to think of the benefits as not anything I've paid for and do without them. Life is too short to waste time fighting for a benefit I have that I cannot use. I hope I don't get the same treatment re medical coverage.

I have been trying for three days to get through and it keeps saying that my account does not exist, even though I am typing in the number exactly like it shows on my card so I called them and they tell me their system is down and that I should try again in a couple of hours I have done that twice. I could give them a zero if it was available.

Went to have my hearing tested and see what I could afford. They gave me no choices and wanted me to pay $3000 up front before processing my order. I was lied too given no communication and received no help. They are a crooked company .

I’m not surprised to see all these one star reviews, after being told my $31.90 would be added back to my otc card I am now told there is a IP problem and they load it back on my Mastercard and the supervisor who I told about my experience last week from his customer service reps who are not so helpful had a attitude and after I complained he said ok is there anything else I can help you with, as the ip issue could take days!
Nathaniel get some better customer service skills and act like you care that your trips aren’t so helpful, maybe retrain them!
I will add the reps at nations assured me a supervisor would call me back after I was on the call a hour waiting and today 12-23-24 I had to call and get a supervisor myself!
I am beyond disgusted with this company and anthem BCBS should see all these complaints and get a new company to assist their members.
Why should customers get horrible service and ancient IP issues that should resolve quickly not days or weeks.

There is something wrong about this "Benefit" from most Medicare Advantage companies. You will get a free debit card with e.g. $50/quarter for Over the Counter drugs. However, the prices are astronomically higher than if you purchased them yourself. Who is paying for this price gouging? Are they charging Medicare for this "service"?

The most untrained people I have ever delt with, they couldn't tell you the color of the sky and get it right.
If you leave a call back number don't wait by the phone because the call will never come.

I have had a bad experience with Nations Benefits I made 2 purchases on my AvMed Flex card through Nations, they took $196.00 from my Flex card and were not able to make the order go through They call it ghosted charges PLEASE anyone having this problem file a complaint through the BBB. Nations offices are in Plantation FL

OK no one told me I had these benefits. Kind of by accident I was told they give 300 dollars a month for payment of whatever... utilities and healthy food, etc. So after a YEAR on AETNA insurance with Nations Benefits Advantage Mastercharge Card, I ask them to send me a card. That was October. They said they shipped the card Oct 16 and it takes 7 to 10 days. After that time went by .... checked box and no card. So I called... and they said don't worry, it will still be coming. This is December 11... I called AETNA yesterday and they called Nation's. "Do you want a replacement card?" Hell yes, I am depending on this extra rolled over income for an electric bill due. So they said... seven to ten days, no first class mailing, USA mail third class. Well... that makes it december 20th and gives me 11 days till the card expires and I lose all the benefits when on January 1 a new year and new contract period starts. We will see... but reading all the bad reviews, I am thinking they are a scam and will try to run out the clock. By the way... I have 3600 dollars on this years unreceived and about to expire card. I will be back and will tell you if I got the card. Now I see I must call them daily.

I gave 3 stars because of the prices. -1star for food options. Prices on that site is ridiculous. Items that can be purchd on it are priced 3x higher than if I go to Wallyworld (walmart) and buy it myself. My husband contends saying "it's free!" but i think they're taking advantage of this system. I ordered a bathroom scale for $35 and when i rcvd it, it was dirty and broken. When i called nations it took an act of God to replace it.They don't do refunds. (God forbid i should ask for a refund!) I think they thought i would give up.
I think the food options on the site are disgusting. Ive been eating organic since the early 80s and there is nothing useful to the human body either vitamin or food wise...
My husband is a pt time Uber driver. He is always concerned if he encounters someone exp'ing a drug OD so I ordered Narcan just in case. My experiences overall have been some ok and some not ok so anyway thats my review

This company is a SCAM!..Online food items that are suppose to be healthy are EXTREMELY NOT healthy and TRIPLE the price. The app DOES NOT WORK! If by chance you can get the app to work after about 20 tries or MORE.. it BARELY cover any essential items in the drugstore.. Even though the app does not work at NO fault of ours.. they will NOT roll over the benefit to the next month. DON'T bother to call customer service..they are ignorant and will lie to you freely! This company is scamming off of our backs! I plan on reporting them!

Horrible joke of a company. As already said they have mostly third rate products at jacked-up prices. But the worst thing is, they also seem to use third rate delivery services that often make mistakes. For example recently, FED EX just messed up my order and didnt' deliver it. Nations knew about it, but still wouldn't send me my order. This has happened before. Goods come damaged, etc. I've called and the rep says they did something and turns out a month later they didn't do it, and then they tell me I'm out of the loop for them to do what I want. I'm using my monthly benefits towards paying my phone bill and they I'll buy my own food at appropriate prices.

After having been discharged from the hospital, Sentara Medicare Advantage contacted me and told me about this home delivery food benefits.
I’m very pleased with Nations communication process. I was told in advance what day my food would be delivered. I received communication that the food was on its way and then I received communication that it was delivered .
Packaging was outstanding , instructions simple to read.
I will be recommending this program .

Overpriced portal products cost 2-5x retail. It is designed to prey on those customers who are elderly/disabled who rely on delivery for everything. Pantry boxes contain about $12-$15 in produce and they charge $55-$60 for it.

The products are crap, expensive, odd quantities, and the on-line system sucks.

I quit ordering from nations benefits online because they are so outrageous on their prices. It is a ripoff! I just get my items at Walmart and the dollar general store. Anthem needs to go back to being able to order from Walmart online. I do not like the items that nations benefits have!

Both the orders I placed did not ship within any reasonable amount of time. I placed a call to customer service both times. In each case they told me the order had not shipped and then tried to push me off the phone.
I would not use this service again.
