We are disappointed to see you publish another one-star review concerning the same matter.

For the benefit of prospective students, it is important to clarify the facts. In February 2026, while completing the third term of the online Premed programme, you informed us that, due to your personal circumstances, you were unable to relocate to Anguilla to commence the MD programme and asked whether you could study remotely.

We carefully considered your request but explained that we were not permitted to deliver any part of the MD programme online, as this would not comply with the accreditation and regulatory requirements governing medical education and would compromise the academic integrity of the programme. We therefore offered you the opportunity to take a leave of absence until you were able to relocate. You thanked our staff for their support and subsequently chose to withdraw from the programme.

Following your withdrawal, you published a review containing serious factual allegations about the University. We contacted you privately to explain that the review did not accurately reflect the events that had taken place, after which it was removed. Approximately two months later, you published two further one-star Google reviews concerning the same matter, followed by this Trustpilot review.

For clarity, the correspondence from our solicitors did not arise because you left a one-star review. We fully respect every student's right to express an honest opinion based on their experience. Rather, it followed the publication of statements that the University reasonably believed to be false and defamatory. After attempting to resolve the matter privately, we considered it necessary to take appropriate legal steps to protect the University, its staff, and its reputation.

We believe prospective students are entitled to the full factual background so they can reach their own conclusions.

Thank you for sharing your comments. We are committed to addressing student concerns, but it is also important to correct several factual inaccuracies in your review so that readers are not misled.

1. Programme format and advertising

The University has never advertised or offered an online MD programme. The Individualised Study Plan (ISP) is a temporary academic accommodation designed for students facing exceptional circumstances (for example, serious medical issues or delays in obtaining a student visa) that prevent them from immediately attending campus but who require a short extension before relocating. It has never been an alternative “online pathway” or a substitute for the campus-based MD programme.

The core programme structure, including the requirement for on-campus study, was detailed in official offer letters and published on our website. Any promotional material produced by third parties is required to follow the University’s official documentation. Where inconsistencies arise, the University’s published programme structure always takes precedence.

The ISP is a very short-term support measure, and students are expected to transition to on-campus learning once their situation allows. This was clearly explained during enrolment. On-campus delivery is compulsory for the MD degree, and where a student has followed a temporary ISP accommodation, full in-person learning is required to complete all credits and meet the learning outcomes and clinical competencies expected in medical education.

2. Tuition Fees

Tuition fees remained exactly as published in offer letters and on the University’s website. No additional or hidden tuition fees were introduced. Personal decisions regarding relocation, accommodation, or travel costs remain the responsibility of the individual student.

3. Trustpilot verification of reviews

The University may request verification through Trustpilot to confirm that a reviewer is a genuine student or applicant. This is a standard and good-faith measure designed to protect the integrity of the platform for all users—students, prospective students, and the institution alike. It is not applied selectively to negative reviews, nor is it intended to “invalidate” legitimate concerns.

4. Contact from legal representatives

The University fully respects the right of students and former students to express their views. However, when public statements contain serious allegations that are factually incorrect and potentially defamatory, it is standard practice to seek legal advice. Any communication from legal representatives relates solely to demonstrably false or misleading claims, not to silence honest feedback.

5. Constructive resolution

We encourage any student with concerns to contact us directly through our official support channels so that we can review individual circumstances, provide clarification, and offer appropriate assistance. Public reviews are part of open dialogue, but they must be accurate and fair to avoid misinforming prospective students and the wider community.

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We take all student feedback seriously, and it is important to address several inaccuracies and misleading statements in your review so that prospective students are not misinformed.

First, New Anglia University has never advertised or offered an online MD programme.

Regarding programme adjustments:
As with any medical school operating under international regulatory frameworks, New Anglia University may make adjustments to delivery formats to ensure compliance, academic integrity, and student safety. Any changes introduced were implemented to strengthen programme quality and maintain alignment with educational standards.

Withdrawal on 2 March 2025:
Records show that you formally withdrew from the programme on 2 March 2025 due to personal issues, without referencing any changes to the programme that you were required to follow. Therefore, your personal experience does not accurately reflect the timeline of events or your status as a student at the time those changes took place.

On tuition fees and transparency:
All tuition fees were disclosed in advance through official offer letters and were publicly available on our website at the time of enrolment. No hidden or additional fees were introduced.

Concerning credit transfer:
The claim that credits are “not transferable” is inaccurate. Decisions about credit recognition rest solely with the receiving institution, not the originating one. New Anglia University provides full academic documentation and support to facilitate transfer requests where appropriate.

Regarding SME:
While SME is one of our recruitment partners, New Anglia University is fully responsible for academic delivery, student support, and regulatory compliance. Any concerns relating to SME’s communication should be directed to them. It is inappropriate and unfair to attribute unsubstantiated claims to either organisation.

We understand that changes to study plans can be challenging, and we remain committed to supporting all students with integrity and transparency. However, it is essential that public commentary is accurate, fair, and based on verifiable facts. Misleading statements risk harming prospective students and the wider academic community.
