Didn't know what or how will I feel the aftermath... It's important to note the care of consultant who ensured that I was well received and everything ran smoothly throughout my stay in Istanbul😊. Then met the translator took me through everything to be done on the day until operation 🙂. Dr Derici did a splendid job and the nutritionists all played their roles with care & how my lifestyle will be like going forward 👍. Two nights spent at hospital was such a wonderful experience since the nurses did their best taking care of me even went beyond expectations by translating with phones to ensure I understood what was happening and ensured I was relaxed. In overall, my experience was awesome & worth it!!!"

I cannot even begin to explain how amazing my experience was doing my Gastric Sleeve with Novemed. I have never had any type of surgery before especially out of my home country so of course I was nervous but throughout the whole process I felt supported. Communication with the team has been so easy even prior to the surgery so by the time I arrived in Turkey I was well informed of how my surgery day would unfold. The hospital was nice and clean and the nurses took sooo much care of me, I was honestly so sad to have left after knowing my princess treatment was over. Even the surgeon was happy to answer my questions and safely carry out the requests I had! Everything went so smoothly with the surgery, I am currently 6/7 weeks post op and I could not be happier with the progress. The dieticians are clear with meal plans and recommendation so even post op being reintroduced to food was not as confusing and overwhelming as I thought it would be. I recently had a gastric sleeve operation with Novemed and I cannot say enough positive things about my experience. From start to finish, the team at Novemed made me feel safe, comfortable, and well-cared for.

On my 1st surgery b-day after all experience and support, I would like to notice that personel on this clinic is great! Assistents, surgeons, nurses, all of them are very supportive. So all recomendation to this clinic and this professional people. They became my friends after all this time. Also, decision to do this surgery is my best decision ever: 1st of all, I am full healthy person, pill free; 2nd - I lost 55kg and thanks to all advices and everything that they tought me I believe that I will manage living healthy life. So, Your personal will is important but also professional support is also more important, and that is what I got with people in this clinic, from the arrival in Istanbul until departure.

From start to finish this whole process was amazing. Every single member of Staff was very helpful, kind and supportive and the ongoing support is fantastic. I travelled alone but felt at ease from the beginning.
I will definitely be looking to go back and have further surgery if needed.
The hospital was extremely clean. The hotel equally as clean and friendly.
The transfers to and from each destination were prompt friendly and helpful. If your looking for surgery I would 100% recommend Novemed.

I have had a gastric sleeve surgery and I couldn’t recommend them more! Everything went smoothly, everyone was amazing all the way through, took good care of me at all times and made sure I understood everything I was going through.

I came to novemed through recommendation and I I'm glad I made the decision to come. I came with my mother in law and even though the language barrier can be daunting with translates it was absolutley fine and put us at ease. And meeting my surgeon before and after surgery was really nice too.

Fantastic experience with Novemed, from the moment I contacted john he welcomed me and support me every step of the way. The team checked in with me on the morning of my flight and looked after me from the moment I landed in Istanbul. Private transport was amazing to and from air port and hospital and hotel. The surgeon and translator greeted me upon my arrival, supporting me every step off the way, surgeon reassuring me when I was nervous. Every single member of staff went above and beyond to ensure I was safe, well and comfortable. dieticians ensured I had everything I needed for my time in hotel and once home. The whats app group is amazing no question is to big or to small , and everyone supports you with anything you need. Even once you arrive home :)

I've had a gastric sleeve with Novemed team and i am so happy about my experience from the very beginning. I was hosted by amazing professional team of nurses and doctors. Had surgery here 30/12/2022. Arranged everything. All i had to do was my flights and give them the details, they took care of the rest. All the workers were fantastic, coming from UK to Turkey was way out of my comfort zone but the team made it seemless.
Treatment was exceptional, any questions i had were answered, i was never left wondering what was going on. They got me a great translator to explain everything and could translate my questions.Got to see and talk to my doctor and dieticien a lot. They were very fun yet experienced professionals that made you feel worth wile and nothing was a hassle.

I was so well looked after by the whole team at Novemed. My coordinator kept in touch regularly, answering all my questions. I had a video call with my surgeon before travelling a felt very cared for at all times. My translator was brilliant on surgery day and explained everything to me and sat with me all morning until my operation. I have had a very easy recovery and am now three weeks post op and feeling amazing. My surgeon Dr Üçünçü was very kind and checked on me several times after my surgery to make sure I was okay. The nurses were so kind and reassuring during my recovery. I travelled alone from the UK and was anxious before going but Novemed were excellent and really looked after me. I would recommend them to anyone looking for gastric sleeve surgery.

I had my surgery on 13.02.23. The service from start to finish has been outstanding, from the initial call with Oliver to discharge & aftercare. 
I’ve been kept informed every step of the way. Myself & my companion have been well looked after. The hotel we stayed in was lovely. The transfers between the airport/hotel/hospital were a massive help, they made the whole process stress free. The care I received while in hospital was amazing. The staff are friendly & helpful. The surgery went well & I have been discharged with medication, shakes, vitamins & lots of information. It was very helpful having a dietician explain everything & being given a diet plan. I couldn’t have wished for a better experience.

From the moment I enquired to receiving the warmest hello from John (who was amazing) I knew instantly chosing Novemed was the best thing I ever did!
We arrived a little later at night on the 11th, and taken straight to the hospital, to be greeted with the loveliest nurse who's name I wish I could remember. To then go through all the forms and got started on the tests.
The morning of surgery, Sheila arrived at 8.30am and didn't leave my side throughout the other tests I had to do. Fabulous lady. Then very soon after whisked off to surgery and back in my room within a couple of hours. The aftercare, from the nurses and my surgeon checking in on me a couple of times a day, was second to none, constantly asking how I am, and how I'm feeling.
My hubby stayed with me, fed 3 times a day and he was waited on as much as me! Honestly could not recommend this team of people anymore, the hospital itself and the rest of the package, including transfers.
Thankfully everything went very smoothly for me without complications and within a few days I was up and about getting settled into my new life.

I cannot fault Novemed at all! I had my gastric sleeve surgery on the 2nd August 2022 and was 128.2kg, now I'm 95kg and still losing.

From booking, to the surgery, to the follow up, everything has been great.

Booking.
I booked in August 2022 and was in constant communication with John, who answered all of my questions. I knew it was the right company to go with because they even recommended that I speak with my GP about something before committing.

The hospital.
All I can say about the hospital is, don’t go into this expecting it to be like a private uk hospital room. You do have your own bathroom, and there is a single sofa bed that is comfy enough for your companion. The room was mopped once a day, but that was all the cleaning that happened.
My companions advise to yours is avoid the hospital food at all costs and go to the restaurant opposite the hospital instead. There is also a bakery, kfc, and a supermarket nearby for anything else you might want to get to eat and drink. It’s all very inexpensive.

Pre op tests.
Almost as soon as I arrived at the hospital, the pre op tests were started. Bloods taken, X-ray, stomach ultrasound, heart ultrasound, and endoscopy (I was worried about the endoscopy, but you are heavily sedated for this, unlike in the uk!)

Surgery time!
When the pre op tests were finished, it was time for surgery!
I had met my surgeon when I arrived and he had answered any last minute questions I had.
The surgery went perfectly!
I had asked beforehand to see a picture of the removed stomach, which they obliged. It’s not for everyone but I thought it was fantastic!

In the hospital after care.
This is the only part I wasn’t 100% happy with.
Quite a few hours after surgery you are allowed to get up and walk about to help with the gas pains. (I would have liked to get up long before they let me). Until then you are hooked up to fluids and paracetamol.
When I was helped back into bed, the nurse didn’t hook me back up to the drips.
If something doesn’t feel right, say something!
A short while later I was in so much pain and struggling to breathe that they had to give me ‘opioids’. Until then, paracetamol was more than enough.
During the night the nurses were hard to find and took a very long time to come when called. (They were downstairs smoking more time than they were on the small ward).
I also recommend downloading a translator before flying out, as this is the only way to communicate with the nurses.

The dietitians were wonderfully helpful. Pre and post op.
They came in with the liquid foods, protein shake sachets, and vitamins. Explained in detail how to make them up, how much to have etc.

Just before leaving, the surgeon came in and removed the drain and I was free!

The hotel was quiet, clean and comfortable.
The transfers were on time and efficient.
Free WiFi was available in the cars, the hospital and the hotel. You do not need to purchase a SIM card at the airport.

I did A LOT of research into different companies before hand and I am very glad I decided to go with Novemed.

I went with Novemed to have a gastric sleeve and the experience I received was fantastic. The communication via WhatsApp was fantastic, any questions I had were anwsered very quickly.
When we arrived in Istanbul on 11th January, the transport collected us and took us to the hotel. The hotel is so clean and comfortable. On 12th January we were picked up at 7.30am and taken to the hospital. The transport had sparkly lights on the ceiling and we felt like VIPs.
When we arrived at the hospital everyone was very friendly and I met Afag who anwsered any questions I had before surgery. Afag was so kind and had excellent English.
Pre op tests went fine and done very quickly, they did pick up that I had a hernia in my stomach and they could fix that during the surgery. I paid 1.7k more for this but I was very happy to do this because it will help me later on in my life.
The surgery went well and the aftercare was fantastic. All the nurses were so lovely and took great care of me and my partner also received 3 meals for the two days at hospital.
I can't thank the team enough for an amazing experience. Im recovering very well and novemed provided me with medicine and shakes to go home with. I would highly recommend novemed to anyone who is thinking about having a gastric sleeve.

I'm glad I went with Novemed . Communication is great via WhatsApp (very attentive and regular clear communication )
Over there Shelia the dietician is an absolute star ⭐.
Shes just a lovey caring person, very knowledgeable and you can tell it's not just a job for her. She truly loves it.
I would say the nursing team are lovely too. Very young which isn't an issue but they do kinda forget about modesty and privacy. They're very attentive and come in MULTIPLE times esp during the night. They do however forget to switch lights off and close the door again . Quite frustrating.

I also felt it was very much like a production line. I realise it was a foreign country but pre surgery when obviously people are going to me more anxious they so things without pre warning or trying to explain, for example injecting things into the canula.

From initial consultation to arriving at the clinic, the communication and information was brilliant with the whole team.
I travelled on my own from the UK and never once felt unsafe.
The after care was 5 star. Every medicine explained and what to drink/eat for the next few weeks.
It is more expensive than other clinics after doing some research but the extra money is totally worth it for a procedure done correctly with the best aftercare.

On a whole i would say the service for the money, is really very good. It is also very efficient.
I arrived in early evening and was advised I would go directly to hospital rather than the hotel so they could get my tests done early for the next day. Room wasnt quite ready when i got there but didnt have to wait too long.Tests were all done and before i knew it I had my procedure the following morning, bang on the time they had intimated. All went well and I felt pretty lethargic for first 8hrs or so but after that quickly improved. I was monitored on the hour every hour without fail. Room was pretty cold but had control of thermostat so could change it as required. I went on my own and I would say that you have to be pretty strong minded to go through this, so I would suggest taking someone for moral support if you worry easily.
There was a lot of talk about how previous patients had lengthy and good conversations with their surgeons. This was not the case with me. I never saw him for more than a minute on 3 occasions whereby he said.
1 "no water today"
2 " only 4 cups of water today."
3 " you have a big problem. " you're going to need a new wardrobe" lol. I do appreciate that he was very busy.

2 days after I was released to the hotel (which was excellent) and 3 days later returned home. I would note that there was no follow up after you leave the hospital. This I found a bit surprising and I think it would be good if they did. Just to see how your doing. Certainly for people who worry about giving themselves injections or even to discuss issues or pains that were prevailant after the surgery.

I'm back home now and all of my family and friends are astounded at how well I looked considering the process.

Few points of note for anyone considering.
- I had to pay the 8% extra because I used a card to pay the outstanding balance. In the abundance of early info received through WhatsApp it did tell me this but I had missed it.
- there is an option to pay for the years supply of Pantas tablets which you have to take every day. Note this is half the price.of buying them in the UK but was still unexpected. Or again I missed it in the info provided
- there is a risk of additional costs if you have a hernia for example, which is highlighted in another review so best to make sure you have the money available just in case.

Anyway, I have tried to be as fair as I can and have no issue recommending Novemed to anyone wishing to have the procedure done. All in all a positive experience that I hope leads to even more positive results.
