We arrived at Old Barn Tregonetha on the day restrictions were lifted - having booked at the start of the year - and everything was perfect.

Upon booking (via the Old Barn website at a fantastic price, better than via third party booking sites) Stephen contacted us shortly afterwards to introduce himself. Stephen proved to be a genuinely invested host during the lockdown, keeping us informed of the current situation and recognising any concerns we had.

The Barn itself is finished to a stunning level and felt homely the second we entered the property - even better than the pictures! The beds were extremely comfortable and the Aga was fantastic. Stephen was there to introduce himself in person and took the social restrictions seriously throughout the entire stay, but took them within his stride, always being warm, friendly and approachable. The Cornish hamper was amazing and enough food supplied (sealed) for the first day of the stay.

The location is great as there is easy access to the A roads and Padstow is only a short drive away. Other main attractions like Eden Project are only a 20 minute drive, and Newquay less than half an hour. There are large supermarkets nearby that also deliver food shopping to the Barn.

Finally, the secure garden was perfect for our big dog to happily roam around, and had the weather been better, would have been fantastic for BBQing and relaxing in.

If future holidaymakers decide to spend the evening in the Barn, then be aware that the Smart TV doesn't have access to streaming services such as Netflix, but HDMI leads are provided - that is the only negative opinion and is trivial at best!

Overall, an excellent stay and host; I would highly recommend to anyone and everyone.

A fabulous holiday from first contact to when we (sadly) had to leave.

Stephen is the most charming host, there to meet us on arrival and to say goodbye in person.

The property is simply stunning, luxurious and homely. Fabulous fixtures and fittings, super beds, great bathrooms were all as expected. It's the little things - the welcome hamper, cream tea, fresh pasties and flowers that really sealed the deal for us.

Oh, and the fact that our dog could run around in a secure garden (and she even had her own treats provided - meant everyone in our party was happy.

I honestly could not recommend this property more highly. The location is superb to explore Cornwall and the property itself is second to none.

The owners were incredible. It was evident by the standard of the property and the attention to detail that they have poured their hearts, souls and a lot of consideration into ensuring all of their guests have a wonderful holiday. From the welcome package of food and drinks to the plethora of information on the web site everything has been covered.

The property was immaculate and the level of cleanliness was incredibly impressive. The extra measures they have put in place in these uncertain times were above and beyond and very reassuring.

My children are already asking to return and we will definitely be booking this property again - we had a truly fantastic holiday.

Very sadly, due to the pandemic and having a newborn baby we decided that this year we won’t be staying away from home at all so not visiting like expected in August. We were very much looking forward to staying as have known friends to stay previously with their dog and they high recommended. The booking process was straight forward and when I made contact to explain we wouldn’t be visiting there was no issue at all in getting our deposit back the same day!! Really hope to visit next year once the world is slightly more normal!!

We didn't actually stay at The Old Barn due to our booking being for May Half Term 2020 - during the COVID -19 lock down.

However, I cannot fault the service we received from Stephen. Nothing was too much trouble. From the initial inquiry, to the eventual refund of our deposit, Stephen's customer service was impeccable. We will DEFINITELY be booking again when the situation changes.

This was our 3rd time at the old barn , as alway it is like staying in a 5 star hotel but self catering . Nothing is too much trouble for Stephen , the owner . From the most amazing hamper to cake , scones and warm pasties the day after our arrival. The old barn is spotlessly clean. Even our dog is spoilt with doggy treats and biscuits ,towels and bowls . Every holiday home should be as amazing as the Old Barn

I was fortunate to spend my Birthday at the Old Barn - we were welcomed by Pat, who was incredibly friendly, helpful & couldn't have done enough for us. The Old Barn exceeded any expectations I had, as the pictures really do not do it justice. It was immaculate & Stephen had really thought of everything, from the gowns in the en-suite, to the fresh flowers & not to mention, the amazing welcome hamper which was incredible (under floor heating, logs for the fire, proper Gin glasses - the list is endless...) In the dining room, I found a Happy Birthday balloon & card, so thoughtful. The garden was a joy to be in, even in October & Humphrey (my dog) really enjoyed spending time running around it. It really is an outstanding property & if you want to be totally spoilt, this is the place to visit, even Humphrey had been spoilt with bowls, towels & a toy ! I was very sad to leave the Old Barn, as it was just perfect in every way.....

This was our fourth visit and not the last. We find the old barn comfortable and perfectly situated to explore Cornwall. We have two labradors that love the garden and drying off in front of the AGA after a hard day at the beach. Stephen is always welcoming with cakes, bread, eggs and of course a fresh pasty. Can't recommend enough. Five star accomodation.

We had the most wonderful stay at Old Barn! I myself have been working with Stephen, as his Graphic Designer, for over 18 years now and it was so lovely to actually experience his fabulous luxury barn conversion first hand on our recent trip to Cornwall. It was even better in real life than the amazing photography that has been shot over the years. The barn had everything you could possibly need from all the essentials to fantastic luxury goodies. Stephen is so helpful and always on hand for any questions or assistance you may require during your stay. Although it felt like it there was no extra special treatment for us this is what all guests experience during their visit to Old Barn! Thank you so much Stephen - we can't wait to come back!

We really enjoyed our stay at The Old Barn, Tregonetha. Stephen the owner is so kind and greeted us on our arrival with a Cornish Cream Tea, Lemon Drizzle Cake and a lovely basket of goodies too. Fresh flowers everywhere as well. Plus, delicious freshly baked Cornish pasties the following day! It's a lovely place to stay and it's very convenient for all the lovely beaches nearby. Well stocked cupboards, with everything you need. Very comfortable and loved the Aga, which warmed the kitchen nicely on the rainy damp days, while we were there. All our dogs enjoyed it too.

Well...where do I begin ? Could it be with the incredible service offered at this luxury barn conversion lovingly restored to an exceptional standard by Stephen and Alan. When we arrived there was every conceivable luxury that could be thought of from the doggy towels, fresh flowers, sausages, bacon, fresh bread, croissants to the amazingly equipped kitchen. The welcome from Stephen and Alan was lovely and they could not have been more accommodating or concerned for our comfort. They take great pride in the immaculate presentation of Old Barn and it shows. Stephen even brought us some delicious home made pate and fresh pasties. We were very sorry to leave and will return without doubt. A lovely quiet setting, gorgeous private garden and everything one could need. No intrusion except to bring us another little luxury. A fantastic little gem that should not be missed. !!

We have stayed at the Old Barn for the last 3 years our latest visit being in the second week of July 2019. Each year the Old Barn gets better and better with 5* accommodation and 5* hospitality awaiting you at this stunning property in the tranquil hamlet of Tregonetha.. The location is perfect for being able to explore all parts of Cornwall. Stephen the owner is a wonderful host who cannot do enough to make your stay as peaceful and enjoyable as possible even down to the variety of treats that await you in the welcome pack. It is extremely dog friendly with a large garden for the furry members of the family to safely roan free in the large enclosed garden. We cannot recommend the Old Barn highly enough it fully deserves and lives up to the numerous awards it has received. Many thanks to all involved with the Old Barn for helping to make our holiday perfect. We will be back to again visit our Cornish home from home. The Brown Family

Just returned from a week at “The Old Barn”, outstanding self catering accommodation. Stephen has thought of everything you could possibly need to make this property an unforgettable holiday experience. The welcome pack was truly exceptional, my husband and I were like six year olds at Christmas! Being able to charge our car at the property made life so much easier as this is still a facility that very few self catering properties offer. Thank you Stephen for a wonderful holiday.

We have been to The Old Barn the last 2 years and have just booked to visit again this year. Absolutely brilliant accommodation in a great location. Stephen is very welcoming and helpful. No problem too big or too small. Would highly recommend!

Wow where do I start! From the minute we arrived we were greeted with the most beautiful place. The barn was stunning on the outside with parking at the front and a big pretty garden at the back. The barn inside was just perfect, beautifully presented throughout with such character. The view from the balcony was lovely and it was so relaxing and peaceful. The little extra touches from the welcome hamper full of goodies, cheeses in the fridge to the dog biscuits in the cupboard just made our stay even more special. We met Stephen the next morning and he arrived with welcome traditional Cornish pasties and some strawberry’s, was so thoughtful. Stephens a lovely guy and couldn’t do enough for us, recommended places for us to visit and to let him know if we needed anything. We loved our stay here (doggies too) will definitely be returning, already looking at dates for our next visit.

The Old Barn is a beautiful property in a lovely little hamlet in cornwall. Stephen is a fabulous host and spoils you with great hospitality. The hamper and the lovely treats including a breakfast for the 1st morning was a very welcomed surprise! The property is beautifully furnished and you really can’t ask for a better equipped kitchen. You will want for nothing. The garden is a great size and very dog friendly. You are perfectly positioned to explore the surrounding beaches but spending time barbecuing in the garden is something of a must! Can’t wait to return again in 2020. Thanks again Stephen.

Beyond expectations! The barn is a beautiful and unique conversion. Elegantly furnished with plenty of thoughtful details. We felt at home immediately. The place is perfect for a family or a group of friends; it is a true oasis of peace. Stephen also is an amazing host who understands and is fully accomplished in the business of “making people happy”. A wellcome box of Cornish goodies was waiting for us as well as all the ingredients for full English breakfast. The next day Stephen greeted us with tasty Cornish pasties.

We have stayed at the Old Barn twice now and have also booked up again for a third time! I cannot fault this place. We’ve stayed in many holiday cottages across the UK, but none have been as special and luxurious as the Old Barn.
After a long drive to Cornwall we always arrive to the warmest of welcomes from Stephen, and a hamper full of treats and goodies.

The Old Barn is in a great location for exploring all of Cornwall. There’s some lovely local restaurants nearby and the most beautiful beaches.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Old Barn and it was every bit as wonderful as the first.
After a long drive through wild, wet and windy weather. We arrived at this wonderful cosy cottage, beautifully lit and the warmth from the aga was very welcoming.
All the rooms are lovely, the beds are the comfiest ever. The bathrooms are luxurious too. The lounge with its grand piano and wood burner just add to the atmosphere.
Stephen is a fantastic host and certainly goes the extra mile, providing a luxury hamper with delicious treats. Plus pasties, cream teas, and cake.
The location is ideal too, lots of interesting places and coastal walks within easy reach.

Stunning barn in a fabulous location, I have rented many properties in Cornwall but this by far beats them all. If you are thinking of booking a luxury holiday then look no further, every amenity you need and the extra touches are superb. Luxury hamper lots of spices kitchen everyday items included and all applicanes high end.

Fresh cotton sheets and so so comfortable beds along with luxury bathrooms, you really do not want for anything. The host Stephen is so lovely nothing is too much trouble.........go on book you won’t be disappointed
