Impossible to tell where your files are located, and even files on your C drive appear to be in the OneDrive cloud. Very difficult to update current files to an external backup on your D drive, and even leading backup suppliers like Seagate struggle to advise on how to back up your files away from OneDrive. Has America's Microsoft become the biggest threat to your data security? After decades of supporting Microsoft, it may be time to switch to Apple.

Sur Mac OS (toute dernière version et celles d'avant) c'est une catastrophe. A chaque mise à jour de Mac OS, il faut tout réinstaller, Onedrive ainsi que la suite Office (conseil prodigué par le service client, malgré mon abonnement 365). Il faut ensuite re-synchroniser intégralement les données, incroyable. Par contre, Microsoft n'a aucune panne lorsqu'il s'agit de prélever l'abonnement. J'ai fais le choix d’arrêter onedrive.

What a piece of crap. It decides to put everything on it and heaven help you if you want to delete something that is also stored elsewhere that you may want to keep. This junk app will hunt everywhere for it and blow it away. I just tried to get rid of a folder on it that had books in subfolders. This crap not only deleted that but MS Word, Excel, File Explorer, Edge, Google Chrome, Firefox, Google Chat MS Teams and my desktop settings. I wish there was a way to give a more negative rating. Whoever dreamed this piece of JUNK up should be fired.

Man hat alles drauf eingestellt das niemand da dran kann und trz kommen irgendwelche 18+Seiten Viren an ständig irgendwas im geteilt Ordner wenn man diese melden will wird es abgebrochen es wäre etwas schief gelaufen das geht jetz seit einem Jahr so ich besuche keine dieser Seiten will mit sowas auch nichts zu tun haben diese Google kakke nervt nurnoch mal läd auch etwas in diese one drive iCloud ums zu sichern läd es auf dem neuen Handy runter die Hälfte fehlt oder ist ned mehr zu öffnen weil Datei angeblich beschädigt alles so Sachen die nicht gehen dürfen man soll noch was dazu kaufen aber genau das werde ich nicht machen bei solch einem schlechten Service der original garnicht hilfreich ist ich habe mich bestimmt schon mehrfach über den Kunden Support beschwert nie ne Reaktion bekommen und jetz kommt genau das wovon ich meine daten schützen will was soll das?! Am liebsten Minus 5 Sterne!! Nicht zu empfehlen !! Ih rate jedem ab die Google one drive app zu laden und zu nutzen wer dort Hilfe brsuch kann auch mit der Wand reden die ist genau so hilfreich wie dieser unglaublich schlechte Support

Sichert eure Daten lieber auf einem USB Stick der ist 100 mal sicherer als dieser mist ! Jetz kann ich dank dieser rotze alles platt machen und neues Handy kaufen alles neu machen und eins ist sicher es wird kein Google Supportendes Telefon sein da bleib ich lieber bei Apple und deren iCloud die ist wenigstens sicher vor sowas allein der Browser ist sicherer als das hier egal wen man fragt jeder bestätigt mir das selbe kenne niemanden der mit Google Kram zufrieden ist keine Sicherheit die Microsoft heinis können alles mitlesen und sehen was du eigentlich genau davor schützen willst geht garnicht!

Ok. Meine Erfahrungen sind ok. Ich würde allerdings empfehlen zu schauen, nachdem man von 5GB auf 100GB upgegraded hat, ob ihr die vollen 95GB zur Verfügung habt, kleine Schwankungen sind normal. Wenn sie allerdings größer sind, sollte man es mit dem Support abklären.

Stole data from pc and held hostage email use to pay for more storage. Deleting data on onedrive deleted data on pc it had downloaded.

I wanted to review onedrive, but i guess outlook is the closest it can be. I don't think it's very good either. It absolutely ruined my desktop layout, but microsoft also FORCES it down the user's throat despite not being very good. It is enabled on any PC by deafult, when logging into your account on a different PC it automatically moves all my files to a different PC without even asking. It's a truly horrible experience, disable it as fast as you can.

Made both my new and old computer unusable. Messed around with the location of pre-installed files and backgrounds for no particular reason, so in the end I just reset my pc so I didn't have to use onedrive anymore. An embarrasment to an already terrible company

Storage gets filled out quickly! It compressed some of my file to down the quality and it was really disappointing experience.

This "app" forced upon me has ruined my laptop by presuming I want to download everything to Onedrive (with a pitiful 5GB of storage).
I tried to remove it but realised everything was saving directly to it and now my PC is a total mess.
It has taken pictures off my PC, which I then deleted without thinking, & now there is no way of getting them back because the storage is full and if I turn Onedrive back on it will start re-filling any storage I free up!
Awful, awful product and on the verge of lawsuits.

It automatically fills up all your 5GB of storage without asking and without having you even open the app and then tries to get you to pay to get more storage.

Ich speichere nur meine Fotos in OneDrive, nutze ab und an Microsoft 365 und es hat alles fünf Jahre lang gut funktioniert. Die Kategorisierung in Unterordnern nach Jahr funktioniert seit November 2025 nicht mehr. Fotos werden in die Galerie hochgeladen, Sortierung erfolgt in falschen Ordner, bei mir landen Fotos aktuell im Ordner 2022. Seit Wochen in Kontakt mit Support, immer die gleichen Rückfragen, habe schon soviel Screenshots und Videos geschickt, mag nicht mehr. Viele Nutzer berichten, dass das oft nicht funktioniert - hätte ich das nur vor Abschluss des Abos gewusst.

Jeg er i kontakt hver anden uge fordi OneDrive hele tiden falder ud og kke backer op og andre gange siger der mangler lager plads for alle os 6 familie medlemmer med 1 TB lager plads med over 50 % ubrugt plads / ledig kapacitet. Har været på 3 ugers ferie uden vi har kunne tilgå Outlook kalender, eller bruger office pakken eller benytte os af lagerpladsen til billeder mv.
Total absurd at problemet fortsætter også nu hvor vi er hjemme igen hvor alt virkede fint før afgang og nu er alt dødt hos alle. Har haft problemer siden opkøb for nu 4 år siden, one drrive har engang i starten af 2025 slettet alle mine billeder, filer og videoer. Problemet er tilbagevendende og hovedpine er nu total efter at mine større skolebørn blev lokket til at bruge de mange TB lagerplads til opgaver mv. Ingen kunne bruge OneDrive på vores ferie. Og el heller herhjemme nu sidens vi kom hjem igår lørdag. Må vente til mandag mad at forsøge at få hjælp hos Microsoft og det tager som regel en hel dag eller to hvis vi endda kommer igennem til et menneske forbi den iritterende robot som aldrig forstå hvad man svare. Et hovedpine uden lige og så i 2026. Helt uholdbart. Må bestemt søge mod andre løsninger nu.

OneDrive’s photo search is completely unreliable. My account contains thousands of clearly labeled photos of dogs, wildlife, people, and nature, yet searching “dogs” returns a meme, “animals” says no photos found, and “people” shows random images. The only term that consistently works is “sun.”

Despite this, OneDrive constantly pushes storage upgrades (at a cost) while core features remain broken.
There is no effective customer support, and issues are never fixed.
Syncing is another major problem: OneDrive repeatedly re-downloads photos it already has, creating duplicates and filling storage. There’s no practical way to control uploads, prevent duplicates, or limit what’s automatically added.
For a paid service, this is unacceptable. I’ve moved my files to an external drive and will not be using OneDrive again.

Not even 1 - is criminal backs up files and deletes them from your Hard Drive - keeps asking for paid Upgrade - no customer service and incredbily difficult to turn off ... I've been busy and has deleted half the files on my PC !!!!! I've unsynced it and now its holding 5 gigs of my files hostage in Junk which cannot be taken back until I pay to upgrade !!!! Absolutely disgraceful - why do you bother living ....

Super bad and be becareful with this device. One Drive tricks the customers, for exemple automaticlly ALL the things you are downloading are saved in OneDrive NOT IN YOUR COMPUTER MEMORY! So after some time you have OneDrive full, so You need to buy more space. EVEN then if you just want to move your private files to your local files on your computer/devices you cannot do it! Why? Because you need to have free space in One Drive to move your personal files into Your computer!..
I lost 1 day of work foir this trap, be careful

This is not a backup for your documents. It actually takes the documents, files, pictures from your computer and puts them into one drive. So if you click on a pictures folder on your computer. You will find that it is empty. It says backup, not remove documents from computer. Biggest mistake i ever made. Also you are charged if you use more than 5 GB of free backup. Then you have to pay. If documents were left on the computer . This would be an option if you wanted to use the cloud. But for me this is an under had tactic from Microsoft.

AWFUL! I just wanted a file from college to my PC and tryied to logged in with my college email to Onedrive because I couldn't see the file which I created at school. It started to sync all my files what I couldn't stop. Then, I forced somehow the syncing and deleted them. However, and at the same time it deleted from my PC too. Fortunately, they were in my trash, so could restore them. How the heck something can be this much uncontrolled and unexplained like this??? I will delete the whole thing and forget it forever. It's ridiculous.
