I'm leaving this review after having a fully complete, end-to-end solar installation from P4 — and I couldn't be happier.

From the start, P4 were on the ball. They provided detailed information to support my initial enquiry and quickly followed up with multiple assessments for different options on my roof — all with zero sales pressure. The time and care they gave to answering my questions was incredibly reassuring.

I chose P4 without much hesitation. The quality of service was clear from the outset, and in my experience, that's worth its weight in gold.

A swift G99 application was followed by seamless coordination. Communication was excellent throughout, and before I knew it, the panels were up on my roof!

Every aspect of P4’s service was exceptional — from the installation team’s attentiveness and respect for my property, to the clear and professional handling of payments, and the top-notch electrical workmanship carried out by Neil. Sublime in every respect.

Nothing was too much trouble. No question was dismissed, no concern ignored. Every schedule was met down to the second, and every promise fulfilled.

We did experience some minor damage — a few thin roof tiles cracked, and a drainpipe was hit by the scaffold (to be expected with works like these) — but both were sorted on the same day with no fuss at all.

What really sets P4 apart is that they’re a local, family-built company with reputation and quality at their core. They lived up to — and exceeded — my expectations.

The system itself feels solid and high quality, and I have full confidence in the warranties provided by both P4 and Hanchu.

The handover pack deserves special mention. It's not just a formality — it's a work of art. Detailed, comprehensive, and thoughtfully prepared, it gives me everything I’d need to run or even pass on the system if I ever sold the house. SEG application was so simple with everything in the pack. That level of detail shows the time and care they've invested in their process!

Also worth noting are P4's industry recognitions and insurances — both for the work itself and for financial deposits. These often-overlooked details really underline the quality and professionalism they bring to the table.

Based on my personal experience, I received a high-quality installation delivered with genuine care for both the customer and the property. P4 should be incredibly proud of their team and the service they offer.

The service offered and delivered is first rate. Unlike some of the national solar companies, P4 Solar make you feel a valued customer. We had a very positive experience in all our dealings with P4 Solar. From initial contact, to planning the installation and carrying out the work required to install 22 Viridian panels and then to receiving continuing advice after completion, the contact and communication was excellent and always inspired confidence in the knowledge and abilities of the team. P4 Solar were helpful from our first contact with them. They did a proper site survey to assess what would be suitable for our house and we were given clear explanations. There was no sales pressure. The team who fitted the panels and associated electrics worked efficiently and left everything tidy. We were given a clear account of how the system worked. At all stages we have been able to speak to individuals at the firm when we had queries. We would not hesitate to recommend them.

Excellent service from the first meeting to discuss our options, explaining what would suit our needs to organising everything we needed.
I wanted the roof replacing before the solar panels went on and they arranged for this to be done as well with a very good roofing company.
All in a top class job was done and we are extremely pleased with the result.

As many have mentioned there isn’t any pressure or hard selling - just friendly, professional advice and guidance. After contacting them for a quote, the team were quick to volunteer an on-site, no obligation survey of the house.

The installation itself was smooth and stress-free. Everybody was timely, friendly and tidy. Always keeping you informed of any changes - which were always improvements they could make once they were in progress.

From survey through to installation the process was very professional and quick. So far the savings by adding batteries to our solar panels are looking very good.

From my initial meeting with Peter to discuss our system through to the handover, everything was very professional. The job was clean and tidy, everything we discussed this company did. Our solar and battery system is working very well. The service doesn't stop when the system is up and running, this company advises you on tariffs and are there to discuss and help with any questions or queries you may have.

From first contact with Fred to completion of the solar/battery installation P4 were nothing but professional. All solar/battery options were explained prior to committing to the installation, a simple site survey by the P4 team and a couple of weeks later P4 turned up bang on time on the day of the installation to commence works. The various teams worked like clockwork to complete the installation by mid afternoon. Great communications at all times and the support and advice continues post install to help me make the most out of my system. Would recommend P4 to anyone wanting a solar set up on their home or business. Thanks

So I don't leave many reviews only generally when it's at either end of the spectrum.
From my first contact with P4 I've been dealt with in a friendly, professional manner.
I view myself as having a good level of knowledge on solar/inverter/battery systems, the team at P4 worked this out and we're happy to get more technical, however they didn't offer the option I was wanting and explained why. I went with the solution the team came up with and placed the order. Within 2 days of paying for the goods they were on my doorstep.
Fred was a real pleasure to deal with, hope the weather improves a bit so you can get some golf in Fred !!

Met Peter at the Harrogate home building show early November. Very polite & helpful and never felt any sales pressure during our conversation which was a good start. We received an initial email asking if we’d like them to quote for us, again no pressure. All communication was professional from start to finish. Fred answered all our questions promptly and put us at ease.

Arranged for the install early January but during the scaffold build, the scaffolder went through the roof (sore knee, no serious injury, thankfully). Unfortunately the batons weren’t in a good state, but this was no problem for P4 Solar, the following day, their roofers were on the job and replaced all the rotten batons and felt, all at a reasonable cost. The install went ahead as soon as roof was fixed. From start to finish 3 1/2 days everything completed.

The install roofers were a great bunch and a credit to the company, with a good work ethic. The electrician James, did a great job fitting the Inverter & Battery where we wanted it. Everything was completed to a high standard and left clean and tidy by all.

Post install, P4 Solar have provided us with all necessary documents and advice on energy suppliers.

I would recommend P4 Solar to anyone thinking about having solar panels installed. Such a pleasure to deal with. Thank you Peter, Fred & Justin for looking after us so well.

Very pleased with our upgraded solar panels. Fred was very helpful from start to finish with making sure that everything was explained and managing to sort out our problem with edf.
The fitters and electrician turned up when they said and the work was completed professionally and in the time scale stated.

We were guided through the process initially by Peter and then then had regular updates from both Freddie Maddocks and Justin Hewitt.The work was carried out in an extremely professional manner and at speed and the handover pack was delivered to the Club. P4 Solar completed all necessary paperwork and obtained confirmation of eligibility from Northern Powergrid, prior to the installation of the solar panels and in addition provided us with all required Certificates.

The Rugby Club are delighted with the project and would like to thank P4 for al their advice during the process.

Tremendous experience from start to finish. Peter’s initial meeting and survey really made us feel we were in safe hands and, following receipt of quotes and a few reservations I had answered, his recommendations were exactly what we ended up with.
The installation went like clockwork. The scaffold went up and the very next day the 16 panels were on the roof in the blink of an eye.
We had two batteries and the inverter wall mounted in the loft space so no interference at all. Same for the additional consumer unit in the garage.
The electrician was very thorough and despite a few technical hitches he made sure all was working before he left. He also gave me a comprehensive tour of the Lux App that controls the system and gives all the information on solar input, battery storage, household consumption and export to the grid you could wish for.
The aftercare is also great. Justin followed up with the required documentation and Fred helped with the SEG application and also chased our DNO (Network provider) who were very slow to say the least. They even advise on best rates being offered by energy suppliers as they arise so no need for comparison sites.
I would have no hesitation in recommending P4 Solar. Very professional outfit and do what they say they are going to do on time.

Excellent company to deal with, professional, high quality workmanship and every part of the project was managed well.
All follow up and paperwork was also obtained along with advice on getting the best out of the installed system.
