Failed promise to fix the issue
After Pawtrack replied to my previous negative feedback and asked that I emailed them *again* referencing their response here on Trustpilot, I did and gave them 24 hours to at least acknowledge my email and provide my full refund.
24 hours later I have had no response so my formal dispute through Visa will continue through to its natural conclusion.
Pawtrack; here's some suggestions for better customer service;
- If you ask a customer to contact you again because you can't be bothered to find any of the previous TWENTY emails sent... make sure you look out for it and respond promptly.
- don't wait until a customer resorts to complaining through a 3rd party site before you meet your LEGAL OBLIGATIONS for refunds.
- Stop hiding the negative feedback on your facebook page, having 15 comments but only 1 visible makes it very obvious that you're deleting complaints (including mine). All that happens is that customer make the same complaint on independent sites such as Trust Piliot.
And Pawtrack; please don't insult me by asking me to email you again - if you can't be bothered to find any of my previous emails or Messenger communications which all have my name attached to them why should I waste more of my time?
Customers; avoid this product and this company.
It's a poor performing product with inaccurate tracking and poor battery life for the function it is supposed to perform. Basic configuration (like WiFi) often needs you to send pawtrack your home wifi password (don't do this - I work in cyber security; it's really bad practice) - the product should be easy enough that a home user can do it yourself.
And the company doesn't meet it's legal obligations for returns and refunds.

Takes a bit of time to set up
Takes a bit of time to set up, and I did need some help. Getting WiFi is important as this really helps with battery life. Once it was set up it did work ok. Looking at where your cat has been overnight is really interesting, can go miles!

After my last review they finally got in contact re sending the collar back due to it not working.
We return the collar recorded delivery then nothing! No refund for the collar or the subscription. Nothing. Avoid this company at all cost

Wish I would of seen this site before I ordered. I received my collars in about a week. They sent me the wrong items. They sent me the "old version" not the one that matches their website. They told me they where sold out....I emailed them requesting to return them... they refuse to pay for shipping back to them. I figured fine. let me see if i even like these. Got one set up.....then when I went to add my other cats. It requires a subscription. I PAID FOR A 3 year Subscription....I went online to verify i didn't miss that subscription is per cat. Well Looks like this will be a battle for my credit card. I am not playing these games.

Bought 2 for my kittens a year ago which I was never able to connect to the app and therefore they were totally useless. Help from their support staff was unsuccessful and I eventually gave up and decided to cut my losses. A year later the renewal money has been taken from my account without warning (just received an emailed receipt today) and they are refusing to reimburse me even though they can see from the account that the gps signals have never been activated! No warning that monies were going to be taken was received, no ability to see on the app whether I had unwittingly signed up for automatic renewal, no contract sent to me advising me of such but apparently that’s not their fault and they wont reimburse me. Unbelievable customer services! They provide you with a telephone number on the receipt if you have a problem but then advise you they don’t have a phone service when you email in desperation when you can’t get through! Avoid at all costs!!

I agree with all the comments below. This is a scam company. The collar never worked and despite a 14 subscription cancellation policy - we emailed them in days, they have refused to refund anything and have been literally THE WORST! Avoid avoid avoid

The company charged me before even shipping. Didn’t receive collar for 2 months after placing order. Collar didn’t even have the correct pieces for setup. Had to contact company to get help setting it up. Once setup the collar didn’t work - would bounce all over the map when my cat was right in front of me. Tried to cancel membership and never got reply. They charged me again the following year automatically then told me they couldn’t reverse charge unless I had email proof it was cancelled. Terrible company. Terrible customer service.

Do not deal with this outfit
Do not deal with this outfit. Bought a collar some time ago and never managed to get it working despite being tech literate. Threw it away. They have just taken £59.99 from my credit card as a renewal of the annual service-charge. No notice of renewal, just took the money. They say you must write to then a month prior to renewal otherwise they will take the money for another year. They have refused requests for a refund.

Highly disappointed by customer service
I worked with Pawtrack for 3 years without any trouble. Then in april, the collar stopped working, and they offered me a new one at reduced price. It took a while to arrive, having to pay for additional custom import duties; The new collar did not work. They sent again a new one, for which I again had to pay for custom duties and again, not working; Eversince, I sent back the last collar, for which I was paid back only for the sending costs; I have been chasing them to get the price of the collar paid back and to confirm the cancellation of my subscription, without ANY reply in 2 months!!! I am highly disappointed.

Horrendous product
The collars appear lightweight and comfortable enough for my small cats with long, skinny necks.
That's the best thing I can say.
They take a week to arrive. Bear this in mind, when your subscription is activated at point of purchase. So you lose a week from your first month. Not that it's really relevant, since tracking fails anyway.
They're dreadful to set up. It takes hours of your time. H.O.U.R.S. And that's not it if you've got more than one - they repeatedly require collar diagnostics running to snap them out of whatever software loop they get stuck in. That means hours off your cat's neck, sat in direct line of sight of the sky, so they can chat to the GPS and mobile network. Dunno about chat, looks to me like they've had a chat, gone on for drinks and dinner, more drinks and an impromptu drunken holiday to Magaluf. My are all offline and have been for 48 hours. One believes it's sat in a field. Thankfully, the cat brought it home, and it's on my patio table.
The app is buggy at best. It has a score of 2.2 on the play store. This may reduce when I put my review up.
Battery life is SHOCKING. I mean, terrible. You need to change the battery over, daily. Which is fine, if your cat comes home. But if your cat comes home, why do you need a tracking collar?
I've had several bits of advice from Kira at support. She was really responsive.
Until I mentioned I was exercising my right to reject the collars, under the consumer rights act. I haven't been able to get a response out of them in 5 days, now. I've emailed support(at), help(at) and j****y(at) ...pawtrack.com, and heard nothing.
I've just emailed for a last time, giving them 24 hours. Then I'll be speaking to my bank and reporting the company to trading standards.
Don't waste your money. This company is a scam.

Took a bit of time to set up, and did have communication with help desk, allowing us to get there in the end. Just took a few hours to get sorted. Tracking is ok, WIFI is a nice feature.

DO NOT BUY THESE COLLARS!!!
The collars don’t work with 5GHz Wi-Fi which they don’t tell you about before you buy. My subscription stopped working when I moved. They then took an unauthorised renewal fee and I bought a new collar in the hope it would work - it didn’t. They have ignored all my requests for a refund and I will have to take them to the small claims court if they continue to ignore me.
I have reported the company to Watchdog and would recommend that others do the same.
AVOID AT ALL COST!!!

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service! The collar has not worked in 4 mos and the customer service has been no help. I am trying to cancel my subscription but having difficulty. Buyer Beware!!

Collars did not work and I was never reimbursed
I ordered two Pawtrack collars in June of 2021. It took several days just to get the app to stop crashing and several more for the collars to sync with the technology. Once they finally did, they did not track well in real time and were not helpful in tracking my cats. The battery life was very short (less than half a day) and one of the two batteries never charged properly at all. And, because of the time difference (I am in the USA and they are in the UK), tech support was a nightmare. They would only communicate via e-mail, even though I asked for a phone number, and there was always a 6+ hour delay in reply. Once I finally decided to return the collars, I sent them back to the indicated address and got a tracking number. Despite providing the company with the tracking number, which provided proof the package was delivered successfully, they never reimbursed me for the cost of the collars or the subscription fee. I have been trying to resolve this issue for over a year and have never received a reply to any of my messages. It was a horrible, frustrating experience and I would not recommend this company. Try Whistle instead; their collars work great.

Lied to then ignored….
Once again being lied to then ignored….
After replying to my original review almost instantly to try and make themselves look good. I had a 2 email conversation with (Pawtracks only 2 employees) don’t be fooled into thinking this is a big company!!!
I have since been ignored again after asking for a refund. They tried to tell me that it was lost in their finance department( which they don’t have)

Better off lighting cash on fire
If you live in the States in a rural area even with a decent cell signal this device will not work. It’s also worth mentioning that I have a wifi mesh network that can likely be detected from space. Tech support from paw track wanted me to hand over my SSID and password so they could assist me. No, no and no.
It’s also worthy to note they make it nearly impossible to cancel the subscription without some type of awkward human interaction via email.
If you’re in the states, DO NOT BUY. Product is a hot steaming pile of garbage.

I found cat tracker a really good product, when bought one as a present for a friend she was so pleased with it. That she recommended to a friend. I was looking after her cat when she was on holiday and found it very good.

Worst company and device ever.
Customer Service = Poor at best
Product = Poor at best
Similar to other poor reviews. In terms of positioning devices, this is the most laborious to get working, gives consistently poor performance and is by far the worst of the devices I have used for outdoor positioning.
After getting poor data when used by the cat I took the device on a cycle ride to compare location data with a cycle gps device and a phone. The difference was incredible. In terms of finding out where your cat is, you are likely better off with a local map on a dartboard.
I gave up attempting to use it last year - and refrained from posting a poor review as I live in a fairly rural area, so cut them some slack. (although the other devices all manage it perfectly).
However I recently had my renewal direct debit taken for a second year! With no prior notification. There are no indications for billing data on the pawtrack app. My email address used for purchasing the device has no account linked to it on the pawtrack website.
In short, no way to check / stop the driect debit.
My initial email when contacting pawtrack was responded to - but once "refund" was mentioned, all responses stopped.
Calls to the support telephone number indicated on the receipt go unanswered.
So essentially you have no way of stopping the direct debit without your banks involvment "after" you realise its been taken.
This is by far the single worst company I have ever dealt with. The device itself is likewise the worst positioning device I have ever used.

The fact is your product performs incredibly poorly.
When taken on a cycle ride, it was neither hidden under bushes, cars or inside derelict buildings.
In terms of T's & C's for a direct debit, if you migrate to a new platform which inhibits a customers ability to check or cancel any subscription with you - surely you have an obligation to let your customers know?
That is pretty much basic customer service.
The fact that you have so many poor reviews, ALL complaining about the same thing is unfathomable. Just sort yourselves out or stop selling crap products.
I have done you a favour here by editing my original review with this response rather than giving you ANOTHER 1 star review.
Which incidentally - for anyone reading, it seems the only reason you have such a high review is because reviewers are posting multiple 5 star reviews. I will be contacting Trust Pilot about this. Honestly, the first 2 pages of 5 star reviews have 11 reviewers who account for 31 x 5 star reviews for this product!

The scam that keeps going
I don't know how long this is going to take for people to realize this is a HUGE scam. Do yourself a favor, call them, and see if they answer the phone. Do it for a few days in a row before buying. Funny how the reviews are either 5 stars or 1 star. Wonder why.

I have come to the realisation that…
I have come to the realisation that this company is most likely a SCAM!! Zero stars. Took 4 days just for it to set up after multiple tries. Tracks sporadically and very unreliably. I have messaged the company multiple times with photographic evidence to show that the collar is not working satisfactorily. My (more than 10) requests for return / refund information have been ignored completely. Because I am not in the UK, escalating to a UK ombudsman/ fair trade organisation is complex (but I will continue to try). Do not purchase if you are in Australia.
