This was the worst experience I’ve ever…
This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at an eye doctor—and I’ve been to many eye doctors.
I showed up with insurance and was charged over $100 upfront before any exams which was an exam for glasses and contacts. I have never had to pay before an appointment, especially not that much when my insurance typically covers at least most of the exam.
After the exam, I was directed to look at glasses but had to practically beg for assistance. When I finally received help from Kim Woods, I felt rushed and pushed toward a pair of metal frames that didn’t suit me. I was told they would be saved to my profile, but I made it clear I wanted to come back with my partner before making a final decision.
On my second visit, I returned with my partner and selected a completely different pair—plastic frames. However, when I came back weeks later to pick up my glasses, they had ordered the original metal frames instead. When I brought this up, I was told those were the frames I chose, which made me feel dismissed and like my concerns weren’t being taken seriously.
After confirming with my partner that we had indeed chosen the plastic frames, I had to return again to correct their mistake. Despite the error being on their end, I waited two hours for assistance. I was initially told I wouldn’t have to pay anything additional to fix the issue, but days later I received a call saying I owed over $150 for new lenses.
In total, I ended up paying around $600 for glasses—even with insurance—due to repeated errors on their part.
To make matters worse, when I went in to pick up my corrected glasses, I asked for my contact lens prescription. I was told—nearly three months after my initial visit—that it had never been finalized and they had forgotten to follow up with me.
After four visits, I finally have the glasses I wanted, but the entire process was frustrating, disorganized, and unnecessarily expensive. I’ve had significantly better experiences at smaller offices with fewer staff.
I would not recommend this location based on my experience.

I’ve been going to Pearle Vision for over 10 years, but the last 4 years have been nothing but frustrating. Four years ago, they had to remake my glasses twice—and I still couldn’t see. I finally took my prescription to another provider, and that lab made perfect glasses on the first try. I’m still using those glasses today.
Two years ago, I didn’t even bother having Pearle Vision make my glasses. I took the prescription elsewhere again and had no issues.
This past year, I decided to give them one more chance. Big mistake.
12/20: Had my eye exam
12/26: Picked up my new glasses — I could not see interstate street signs.
01/10: They made me come back for another exam because the original prescription they gave me was incorrect. Had I taken that bad prescription to another lab, I would have been stuck with unusable glasses.
They rewrote the prescription and made the glasses again.
01/17: Picked up the “corrected” glasses — better, but I still cannot see at night.
I also tried transition lenses based on their recommendation. I was told they get dark enough that I wouldn’t need sunglasses. That was absolutely not true. Even in full sunlight, you can still see my eye color through them. I had to buy separate sunglasses to wear over them.
When they remade the glasses the second time, they changed the transition color from dark green to dark gray (supposedly the darkest option), but they still don’t get dark.
On 01/24, I went back to explain that I still couldn’t see clearly, especially at night. A staff member reminded me I only paid $468 — ignoring the fact my insurance paid another $500. That’s about $1,000 total for glasses I cannot use.
She told me they could remove the transition lenses or schedule another exam, but both would be at my expense because it was past 30 days — even though it was NOT 30 days from when the “corrected” glasses were made.
So here I am with $1,000 glasses I can’t use, having to rely on my 4-year-old glasses made by a completely different lab just to drive safely at night.
Pearle Vision clearly does not stand behind their work. Their lab has repeatedly failed, their customer service was dismissive, and they chose not to make things right even when the errors were theirs from the start.
I will never return, and I would not recommend Pearle Vision to anyone. Save your time, money, and frustration. They simply do not care about their customers—only their sales.
Amazing hospitality and treatment
I was treated exceptionally by all of its staff. I would recommend people to go there for their eye tests.
POOR CRAFTSMANSHIP

First our prescriptions were wrong and 3 times now we have had to take our glasses back for the lenses cracking .This last time they kept them for 5 weeks I got them back and withing 2 weeks they are cracking around the edges .

Zero stars if that were an option. Absolutely unacceptable experience.
I had my first visit on November 21, 2025 at Pearle Vision for both glasses and contact lenses, and this has been one of the worst healthcare/customer service experiences I’ve ever had.
Dr. Mohit Kapoor is extremely incompetent. He gave me an incorrect prescription, increasing my power by almost 1 full point. Trusting him, I updated my glasses and contacts at Costco, only to realize I could not see properly at all. That’s when I knew something was seriously wrong.
It then took almost TWO WEEKS just to receive trial contact lenses—which were also incorrect. After calling Pearle Vision, I was scheduled for another appointment on December 15th. At that visit, the doctor admitted I could keep my old prescription, meaning I had no need to update my glasses in the first place. I had already spent over $250 unnecessarily, all because of their mistake. There was zero remorse from either the doctor or the staff. They actually made it seem like they were doing me a favor by offering a reevaluation.
They ordered two pairs of trial contacts and told me they’d call when they arrived. I waited. By December 28th, I still hadn’t heard anything. When I called, they casually said they were “backlogged.” I called again on January 7, 2026, only to find out they were closed (apparently Wednesdays are a surprise closure?).
On January 8, 2026, I finally received a call from Nicole saying my trial contacts were ready. I went in that evening, only to be made to wait over 20 minutes while they searched for them—because they couldn’t find them. During this time, they repeatedly questioned whether I had actually received a call. I had to show my phone call history just to prove it. Still, no apology.
After 25 minutes, they finally found one pair. When I asked about the second pair, Nicole dismissed it by saying it was “just a trial.” I had to explain to them that two pairs were ordered. They searched again and found the second prescription—but not the trial lenses. I was told I’d have to come back again.
At this point, I had been there over 40 minutes, on my FOURTH visit, and I was understandably frustrated. I told them they should not have called me if everything wasn’t ready. Instead of a sincere apology, I was met with a cold, dismissive attitude, including an older woman and a younger man giving me an intimidating, hostile stare for several minutes. The man then rudely asked whether I wanted to take the first pair or wait for the second—as if this situation was somehow my fault.
I explained how much time and money I had wasted and said this experience would absolutely be reflected in a Google review. Only then did the woman soften slightly and offer that I could call back if the first pair didn’t work, and that they might provide a couple of additional pairs “as consolation.”
As of now, my contact prescription is STILL not finalized, and I still do not have the second trial pair.
This place gets **0 stars—or negative stars—**for competence, customer service, professionalism, and basic human decency. The doctor, the staff, everyone was awful. I strongly encourage anyone reading this to go literally anywhere else for eye care.
Exam good BUT COST OF GLASSES EXORBANT
The eye exam and evaluation was excellent BUT the purchase of eye glasses was deceptive and extremely overpriced. The same or better quality glasses are available on-line and other retail outlets for less than half the cost at Pearl Vision!
So impressed with service levels!
My brother was visiting from Canada and his new lens' popped out of his eyeglasses, and we simply could not pop it back in. He is basically blind without his glasses. I had recently purchased my glasses at Pearl Vision so I called them to see if they could help. They said to come right in.
We can't say enough good things about Christina and Liz who went out of their way to help us. They tried everything to get the lens back into the frame, but it was clear that the screw was stripped. They found a different pair of frames that worked and at a good price. They really took their time to find a frame that worked.
We really appreciate their time and effort to find a solution. They also provided us with pricing for future frames and lenses, which would be cheaper than buying in Canada next time.

I purchased my new prescription glasses at Scarborough Town Centre and had a fantastic experience. The staff were friendly and efficient, and Hooman and Sara provided excellent assistance with my order. The entire process was smooth and quick. I highly recommend this place!
Exceptional Service and Savings at Pearle Vision
I've been a loyal customer of Pearle Vision at Oakwood Plaza in Hollywood, FL, and once again, I had an outstanding experience. Stephanie provided exceptional customer service, demonstrating both expertise and genuine care. She guided me through selecting the perfect lenses for two different frames, ensuring they matched my prescription perfectly. Additionally, she took the time to explore available promotions and insurance coverage to help minimize my out-of-pocket cost. Her dedication and professionalism made the entire process smooth and stress-free. I highly recommend Pearle Vision and Stephanie for anyone looking for top-notch eyewear service!
Terrible
Terrible - order 2 pairs of glasses then 1 hour later found out they double charged me. when I called to cancel they say to bad we only give credit. Terrible Terrible Terrible I really like Dr Clark but hate how I now feel like I got ripped off.
EYE EXAMS ARE A SCAM
DO NOT GO HERE! EXAMS ARE A SCAM! My insurance provider states that i have a $10 copay for standard eye exam. I confirmed with my network providers website what my estimate would be the $10 copay shown before going. Pearl vision didn't honor this or my insurance provider being in network and charged me the full cost of the exam at $104. I also only asked for an eye exam and they charge me for glasses prescription, and premium eye exam when that wasn't what i received. I got a standard eye exam same as everywhere else I've been that provided a standard eye exam fully covered by my insurance. This same exam i got that was considered "premuim" at pearle vision was listed a routine exam at visionworks. Pearle vison explained it as premium because i wear day and night contacts, this same exam at visionworks was for the same day and nights I've always wore and was listed as routine and was covered. 1st time going here and here will be my last. I wont be shy to share this to every review platform i can. Didn't have any issues with visionworks with my last provider, wish EyeMed has visionworks in network.
Pearl vision Lansing mi cedar st
“I’ve been a patient at Pearl Vision for a while, and while Dr. Madison has always been excellent, my recent experience with the front desk staff was beyond unacceptable. The two receptionists, both with dark hair—one with glasses and the other with shorter hair and glasses—completely lost their composure when I asked a simple question about billing. Instead of addressing my concern professionally, one of them became hysterical, crying and screaming at me. It was surreal and disturbing. She even slammed papers down, which made the situation feel incredibly hostile. I’ve never had an experience like this at any medical office.
I have to wonder if there was an underlying racial bias in the way they treated me because their reaction was disproportionate and unprovoked. The doctor and the other staff member were kind and professional, but these two receptionists’ behavior was absolutely unhinged. I had to threaten to call the police to calm the situation down, and I’ll never be coming back here again because of them. They seriously need help or training in basic customer service and emotional regulation.”
Skip it. Find someone who doesn't hate you.
I am thoroughly disgusted by my experience with Pearl Vision on San Jose in Mandarin, Florida and feel compelled to share it.
I called to ask if their optometrist could provide on-site treatment for conditions like styes. I previously liked the optometrist, but from the start, Julie’s condescending and dismissive attitude was clear. When I inquired whether the doctor could handle such conditions, she suggested I could see an ophthalmologist also. I pointed out that it seemed unnecessary to pay two doctors for the same issue, and that’s when her tone shifted sharply. She spoke to me as if I were absurd for asking, using a slow, patronizing tone.
I tried to clarify my concern about on-site capabilities, but Julie became defensive, repeating the same information while cutting me off and raising her voice. It was frustrating and shocking. When I calmly addressed her disrespect, she grew even more hostile, accusing me of being aggressive and failing to acknowledge her own behavior.
Julie treated me like an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. Her inability to engage respectfully and her blame-shifting were outrageous. This wasn’t just poor service; it was blatant hostility. While I've appreciated the optometrist and Erica in the past, this interaction with Julie makes it clear I can no longer support a business that allows such disrespect.
Pearl Vision, spare me the predictable rebuttal. I expect you'll deflect blame onto me just like Julie did. Her conduct was disgraceful, and if this business has any standards for customer service, she should not be representing them. It’s shameful that someone with such blatant disregard for professionalism is allowed to treat customers this way.
Pearle Vision, Lakeland, FL
Review of Pearle Vision in Lakeland, FL
Two CSRs at Pearle Vision helped me. They were both knowledgeable and informative, although the second CSR seemed less knowledgeable and much more concerned about his commission (I don't really know if they work on commission but I'm assuming they do). The lab technician did a good job cutting my lenses down to a specific size. Unfortunately, the right lens has a small scratch near the nose pad even though they supposedly have a "scratch resistant" finish. (The lenses should never have been released with a scratch). Because of miscommunication about the warranty and the Pearle Protection Plan I purchased, I feel like a bait and switch occurred. I'm pleased with my new lenses (except the scratch) but it's unlikely I will ever return to Pearle Vision for glasses in the future should my prescription change.
Addition: How much does Pearle Vision care about reviews? Not at all. If Pearle Vision cared, someone would have reached out to me to offer to redo the scratched lens they sold me.
Pearle Vision Terre Haute: Top Notch
After a month of problems trying to get new glasses at the Terre Haute Lenscrafters, I decided to try Pearle Vision. Upon entering the store, it is clean and smells lovely. They employees are friendly and helpful. Stephane was amazing! She answered all the questions I had and explained anything I was inquisitive about. She really knows her stuff and offers quality customer service. She even worked through her lunch hour, while suffering from a painful injury she suffered outside of work, to help me get the glasses I wanted ordered. Stephanie, at the Terre Haute, Indiana store deserves a raise or some sort of recognition for service above and beyond what is required! She took the bad taste out of my mouth that Lenscrafters left. 10/10 would recommend.
Pearle Vision at Crossway 1412 Crossway…
Pearle Vision at Crossway 1412 Crossway Shopping Center, Chesapeake, VA is the best!! I was greeted and seated as soon as I arrived. Mrs. Andrea, aka "Lady D" was so patient and explained all the details of how much my insurance would cover my eyeglasses. Dr. Patel greeted me and showed concern about my eye situation. I felt comfortable talking to him. I have been a Pearle Vision customer for over 7 years now.
Dramatic Errors
had my RIGHT lens crack, and needed it to be replaced. I called for two months (January-March) before someone at the office would actually order the lens. Once the fixed RIGHT lens came in, I went to get it replaced. They replaced BOTH the left lens and the right lens. Two different prescription lenses were put in my frames. I have specialty lenses and require prisms in my lenses in BOTH eyes. I currently only have ONE lens with prisms, the right side. The left lens does not have prisms. The left lens was fine and did not need to be replaced, let alone with the wrong thing. My vision is now double all the time because of that. I have been trying to get this corrected for TWO WEEKS. As I said, my vision is double all the time. I cannot safely drive. I have no idea if this is damaging my vision on a long term basis. I have been calling every other day for two weeks, and LC managers and reps consistently argue with me, telling me there are prisms in my lease. Prisms cause the lenses to be markedly thicker than typical lenses, it’s quite obvious that one is different than the other. I am just being told today, after two weeks, that the store wants to mail my glasses to the lab to be tested, confirm that my left lens doesn’t have prisms, and then they will fix it. I cannot see, and therefore function, without my glasses. The lack of communication, lack of service, and overall inability to achieve the task that they should be able to complete is appalling.
I went to pearle vision on 3/5 as of…
I went to pearle vision on 3/5 as of today 3/16 I still have not gotten my glasses also I have 2 insurances that cover vision but I was told they couldn't pull up my united health care and I had to pay 70.00 for a copayment my uhc covers everything so I shouldn't have had to pay a dime the Dr was very nice liked her alot and the person that did my vision texts was to but the ones that take care of the glasses part aren't even friendly if I don't get my glasses by next week I'm contacting whoever I can for a refund go here for eye exam but not glasses
Extremely poor customer service and…
Extremely poor customer service and quality assurance policy, was ask to pay 50% more to get a replacement— still without assurance that it would be better. I’ve worn prescription glass for more than 60 years and know what “scratch resistant “ means. While it can’t prevent scratches 100% it does safeguard the lenses from normal use like cleaning soft cloth and good lens cleaning liquid. After wearing my latest pair of glasses for less than 5 months I noticed “very excessive” amount of scratches compared to my previous experience. This was despite the fact I paid extra for the “scratch-resistant” feature. Went to the store to see ask if they can replace the lenses. Was told that I’d have to pay 50% for that. Really, I didn’t know whether I should laugh or cry after hearing that. Believe me, I know what reasonable vs excessive amount of scratches from my years of eyeglass experience. I left the store feeling awful and angry. Now, after another 3 months the glasses became totally unusable because they obscure my vision to the extent that became dangerous to drive. I had no choice but to make another pair with another store, obviously not Pearle Vision. I’ll NEVER ever return to them, nor recommend them to my family or anyone else. Note: my previous pair of eyeglasses from Pearle Vision was also with problems—part of the “anti-reflective” or “scratch-resistant” coatings actually came off and was very clearly visible with naked eyes. They replaced that — that was the reason I went back to PV for my next pair, a great mistake.
Great Service
Great Service! - from Mel. No hassles and the eyeglass I ordered fits me well. I enjoyed it and looked amazing. Thanks Joey - Scarborough Town Centre
