Philo service issues - constantly

Philo is the ONLY streaming service I use that constantly and consistently freezes, and the only fixes are to repeatedly turn the tv on and off or uninstalling then reinstalling the service from my setup. I got Philo because it has the networks/programs I typically watch, but the service sucks!

Very dissatisfied, faithful X customer

I contacted tech service to let thrm know that 2 of my regularly scheduled programs aren't airing on the right night or not until the next week. They lied about fixing the issue. Offered me a free month and then turned around and changed my acct. I cancelled my subscription after 1 year with them.

I use to love it but I had kill G/R

I was one of their first subscribers for Philo I liked it I used to watch scrubs on there and then they said you can save your videos and I tried saving them scrubs cuz they took it off now they're doing the same thing with two and a half Men it's like you can only watch what they want you to watch and I used to like them I mean the fees were good I'm still in pain 21 dollars cuz I've never missed a payment notice that they're getting greedier now they went up to $28 to went from 21 to 25 to 28 now what next year they're going to start charging 36 37 so I think I'm going to say goodbye cuz I get better shows with live TV on a freevees and tube and Pluto and if you stop a show to go do something you want to get back to the same show you're watching you can't cuz it'll push you right to the next show. So think this was my last month paying wish you all the best but your doing with two and half Men as you did with scrubs

Read the small print!!!

Basically...they are good for the price HOWEVER...they false advertise...Paramount Plus is in the original package when I first purchased it, now it's not I can not get Yellowstone 1923 thru them...they tell me oh well buy it thru Paramount directly for $8.00 mo...there goes their great deal. Get in writing not just the service included programs too!!

Too many commercials

I subscribed to philo a few years ago and enjoy the content, particularly the retro channels. But like most reviews I've read, I too am fed up with the commercials. They recently increased their fees and at the same time, the amount of commercials, playing the same ones over & over again, and a lot of them are from non profits, preaching sensors hip & BS. One channel in particular FETV has actually extended the air time on shows by 10 - 15 minutes in order to run more commercials. A 1 hr. Episode of Perry Mason ran 75 minutes with 50 mins for the episode & 25 minutes for commercials. What an insult to subscribers. I'm honestly thinking about canceling my subscription and stick with pluto, Roku & tubi .
They've got commercials but at least it's free.

I've been kicked out 5x in 10 min. Had to keep signing in with texted or emailed code constantly, then it buffets for 5 min. I won't be doing this too long if keeps it up, just cancel this darn thing.

You’ve got to be kidding

You want to charge $28 a month for a streaming service that interrupts shows and movies with ads every 2 minutes?! The closed captioning doesn’t even work. Out of your mind.

Was offered a free trial week to use…

Was offered a free trial week to use Philo and was to cancel by the 15th of December. I canceled on the 15th between 8 & 9pm so as not to be charged $28.00. Apparently after cancelation Philo still charged my account anyway on the 17th of December. Did not realize I was charged until I saw the money was taken out.
Called Philo in an attempt to get my money refunded. Philo gave multiple reasons why they took the money, none of which were legitimate! IN A NUTSHELL PHILO ARE CROOKS AND THEY WILL TELL YOU ANYTHING TO STEAL YOUR MONEY!!!
How can they improve??
THEY CAN'T AND THEY WON'T BECAUSE THEY ARE THIEVES!!
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CROOKS SUCH AS THE PEOPLE AT PHILO!!! THAT'S BEING HONEST

Average-ish

Philo works great on the TV in my family room. But it works the way it's supposed to about 40% of the time on my second TV. Often I can't watch the recorded version of shows on my second TV - only the video-on-demand version is available, which has numerous very long commercials that I cannot skip. If I watch half of a two-hour show and try to watch the second half on my second TV by pressing "continue," most of the time it won't work without watching multiple long commercials. So I mostly end up watching recorded shows in two parts on my family room TV unless I want to sit through 35 to 40 minutes of commercials on the hour I have left of a show. So if you only have one TV it works great. If you have more than one TV and expect it to work the same on both TVs, most of the time it won't. My impression is meh.

I was a Legacy subscriber since Philo…

I was a Legacy subscriber since Philo came online. I agree 100% the commercials embedded in series that have long ago ended is maddening! Philo customer service will argue that it is not their doing, or not as sever as people claim. Sometimes (not always) they can be avoided by saving the series. The I.D. Channel Programs do not work with this method.
I don’t understand why when a company starts off with a winning format; great programming choice, excellent competitive pricing, and little to no invasive commercials, they shoot themselves in the foot and go straight to self destruction mode and GUT EVERYTHING that built their reputation and customer base! When did the old saying, “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it” quit applying? In the last two years Philo has continued pulling yet again some of its most beloved programming out from under their most loyal customers by locking them out or removing it all together, such as Hallmark Channel forcing customers to “upgrade” to a more expensive package to watch programs they have been saving and watching for over 12yrs! Their pricing and programming choices was the primary reason I started with them. True enough they still lead the pack in that category, however the quality of programming, reruns of long ago ended shows coupled with expecting people to deal with a constant barrage of intrusive commercials! This puts them in the same bucket with the rest of the garbage channel apps! The straw that broke this camels back, was their pulling the higher end programs into higher priced packages, which is by definition the truest form of corporate greed! In my opinion this is not a good look or business model…If it ain’t broke Philo, don’t fix It, you’re on a slippery slope!

Sucks

The shows that are older and not live to record you are stuck watching commercials. It’s so annoying. Going to cancel.

Horrible

The free trial makes you not want to pay for a subscription. There's more commercials than anything and they're long as ever. It seems like every 5 minutes there's a commercial. When you try to rewind it goes right to the beginning of the episode. Hopefully I get through this show I want to watch before a week is over. Will never recommend to anyone

So you pay for Paramount+ but then…

So you pay for Paramount+ but then forced to pay 28$ a month on Philo for 20 minutes of adds in a 45 minute show. This is a scam and literally nothing more. Add to that it forces you off your VPN so it can track you.
