Horrible agents

This gentleman, Matthew Burris reached out to me after I received a letter and scanned a QR code was hoping just to do everything online and then he did nothing but email call text and harass me. Then I told him I was not interested any continue to email me very rude emails very condescending emails and is still continuing to email me so now I need to report him to the corporate office but do not do business with these people because they are extremely rude and very unprofessional.

I reached out simply to ask about loan…

I reached out simply to ask about loan percentages/options but wasn’t immediately available for a phone call due to working full time. The response I received from Matthew B was unprofessional and implied I ‘wasn’t serious’ because I couldn’t set aside time right away. After requesting my information be removed, communication ended abruptly. Very unprofessional customer service experience.

It's Not a Loan; It's Deceptive Marketing Practices

I received an offer through the traditional USPS. The offer clearly stated "This is a solicitation for a loan, not a bill." I started the process online April 10 and immediately received a telephone call from the agent.

With that agent, I discussed wanting a personal or secured loan. After going through the process, I was told the approval department was closed and the agent would call me back on Monday. I never received that call back.

On May 4, I initiated a phone call and spoke to a different agent. This agent submitted my information to the "approvals department." After a brief hold of 3-4 minutes, the agent returned to offer a "program" in which I would pay a monthly fee to an attorney's office, who would then dispute the debt on my credit report.

I clearly stated I was not interested. I'm not disputing what I owe; I only wanted to consolidate for a lower interest rate and monthly payment.

Upon stating I was not interested in this type of program, the agent continued to berate me and spoke in an incredibly condescending tone.

I reiterated that I was not interested in the program he was offering. I was interested in either a personal or secured loan and if that was not an option, I would need to end the conversation; at which point the agent said something inaudible and hung up.

Because I'm in the process of investigating my options for debt consolidation, I do know that I am eligible for both personal and secured loans, as I already have those approvals.

It's clear that the original offer I received via USPS is, at the very best, deceptive marketing practices, claiming it's a "solicitation for a loan," when in reality it's to enroll people into their debt dispute program.

I'm giving mixed results because I…

I'm giving mixed results because I received a letter in the mail from point break financial stating I was pre approved for a 50.000 debt consolidation loan different from a debt relief/settlement option. My biggest problem with this is if you do basic research you will discover that this institution does not offer loans it's through a third party and this institution primary goal is to get you in a debt relief program but the letter doesn't mention it. Update : 4/13/26 point break financial responded to my review and that's great because most places won't but on trust pilot they do more often than not. I started with 3 now I'm giving 4 stars point break financial stated they will evaluate the way they do business.

However, our primary focus is helping clients evaluate all available paths to financial relief—including debt settlement programs—based on their individual situation.

Real people helping with payment plans

I can’t say enough good things about Point Break Financial. From my first call, I felt like I was actually talking to real people who cared — not just being pushed through some automated system. It was such a relief to speak with friendly agents who took the time to answer my questions and explain everything clearly.
The payment plans were also a huge plus. They worked with me to find an option that truly fit my budget, and the whole process felt simple and stress-free. No pressure, no confusion — just straightforward help and understanding.

Point break was there for me and helped…

Point break was there for me and helped me through a very tough financial period of my life. I will forever be grateful for them helping me navigate a very tough situation. It was easily the hardest financial point of my life to date, and they helped me gain understanding and helped me along the way navigate the legal ramifications as well as providing financial stability. If you were in a tough financial spot, I would recommend them 10 out of 10 times. They made it very easy to just worry about a payment and did all the legwork. Made my job very easy through the process by putting me in a position to where I could make all my payments, on my timeline. Extremely helpful.
