This company has been harassing me for a long time. Leaving voice mails, sending messages. You would think by now they would have got the message that I am not interested and never will be. I have sent a complaint to tell them to stop harassing me. If they don't, I will report to the financial ombudsman.

I had to enter a DMP which will be paid off completely in 3 months.
Unfortunately PRA choose to report a default for the starting balance for every month of the DMP despite never missing a payment and the balance steadily reducing. Other lenders in my DMP reported as a DMP rather than a default and reduced the balance to accurately reflect the payments made each month.
Unsure why they choose to put it on your report in the worst way possible.

Not updating balances after receiving monthly payments through StepChange.
PRA Group UK as the legal owners of my debt outsourced it to Wescot without informing me. Regardless, of the outsourcing, Wescot has received a monthly sum of £419.86 through my StepChange debt management plan. Despite this, no payment transactions have been updated on my PRA Group account since March 19th 2026
I contacted Wescot who initially claimed that they no longer managed the debt and PRA Group UK had resumed management. Two days later, I phoned again, Wescot were handling the debt but were experiencing a “system error” with no timeline that they could provide when it would be resolved.
Wescot confirmed they had received three instalments totalling £1259.58 and not returned this to StepChange. StepChange confirmed no money had been returned. They could not confirm my balances and as such I can’t ensure my last StepChange payment next month covers the remaining balance of the debt.
Both PRA Group UK and Wescot have been contacted and still open their responses with balances that are three months out of date and do not show the last three payments.
Both PRA Group UK the legal owners of my debt and Wescot the company they outsourced it to are culpable for their inability to resolve this.
If not resolved - I will be reporting them to the Financial Ombudsman Sevice. As a company with a system error covering a quarter of a financial year are not fit to be trading or chasing other people for their debts.

Honestly I am struggling so much with my bills debts and everything and this lovely women Melissa who I was working with was so polite kind and very informative she got straight to the point but made me feel safe in my financial burden honestly great group if that's there staff give her a raise as she will do wonders for your company

PRA Group is an absolutely awful company to deal with. We understand a debt is owed, but their complete lack of basic human decency is despicable. My husband is currently very ill with a life-limiting condition and severe mental health struggles. While other creditors have shown empathy and paused collections, PRA Group acts like a dog with a bone. They keep prodding, hounding, and questioning everything.
Their aggressive tactics cause severe psychological distress. When you are dealing with people in desperate situations, you need to be ethical - their pressure is enough to make vulnerable people consider the kind of action nobody should feel like taking.
The positive reviews on here don’t look genuine at all. Read all the negative ones to get the true picture.
If you are dealing with them, I am so sorry. Please know your rights, don't let them bully you, and look up Martin Lewis/MoneySavingExpert or StepChange for support.

Exactly 7 days later after full payment it was removed and my score jumped +80 points and is no longer on my record. Cannot put into words how grateful I am to you that my credit score has been restored to full health. PRA UK went from chasing me for money to chasing the courts on my behalf - outstanding customer service!!!

I was in a bad financial situation after a divorce and through my own fault I got into debt pra were always understanding and when I couldn’t make a payment they talked me through my options I also like the fact you can contact them
Online as sometimes I didn’t want to speak to anyone I am now debt free and feel
Like I have my life back

Spoke to Laura tonight to set up a payment plan and her manner completely put me at ease. She was professional yet friendly, explained everything clearly, answered my questions and set everything up quickly.

Please don’t pay these fools, they have been chasing me for years for a debt of £500 and can’t tell me who the debt is from. They sent me to opos who came to my door and tried to threaten me into paying it. I told them to take me to court which they can’t because it’s a load of rubbish. They’re now threatening to transfer me to their investigations and litigation department. If I don’t contact them within 30 days they might start court proceedings. Have fun with that, you can’t even say who the debt belongs too. I won’t be paying, so let’s have a laugh together. Remember if the debt is over 6 years they can’t do anything, so let them get on with it.

Overall, I’m not really a fan of debt collection groups (who is?), and I don’t particularly like how every call is from an automated machine, asking me to wait, and leaving me lots of voice messages.
But on the positive side, I’ve just spoken to a very helpful and friendly person called Laura, couldn’t have had a better person to speak to. And clearly made an impression as I never write TrustPilot reviews, so thank you Laura 🙌

This company has been calling me since 2024!! They don't stop despite not being in debt to anyone!! It doesn't matter that I've blocked this number or how many times I report the number the calls keep coming. This is harassment. It's unclear how companies like this keep getting away with inappropriate behaviour!!

Initially I received some unsolicited calls and emails from this company, despite the fact that I had no contract or any arrangement in place with them and had never heard of them before. The most recent email was very threatening in nature and has forced me to report this company to the FCA. The threats made included the suggestion that they "may" contact "Moorcroft Debt Recovery Ltd" and described them as their "doorstep reconnection partner" - this is the modern-day equivalent of threatening to "send the boys round". I have now emailed them informing them of my lack of appreciation for their approach and the threats they have made against me. I also pointed out that they may also be guilty of attempted extortion and blackmail, both of which I take very seriously and also accused them of demanding money with menaces and making threats with menaces. Having researched this company further, I see that they have a very poor reputation and seem to be in the habit of threatening members of the public for alleged debt they owe to the PRA Group, without any proof of said "debt", no documentation showing evidence of said "debt" and absolutely nothing legal nor lawful to back up their claims. Companies like this use fear, intimidation and threatening language to extort money from innocent members of the public but I will not hesitate in pursuing all legal and lawful remedies available to me. The most threatening email was received from one "Carissa Rae" who seems to think she is above the law and is entitled to make threats and demands without providing the legal and lawful documentation and evidence to back up her claims. Avoid these people at all costs and do what I did, report them to the appropriate authorities as soon as they make contact with you. Unless you have a legally and lawfully binding arrangement with them, then no contract equals no claim. After sending them an email yesterday calling them out on their harassment, fraud and attempted extortion, they called me today at 8:30 in the morning! On a Saturday! This tells you all you need to know about the kind of people they are, unprofessional, infantile bullies.

Logged into my email at approximately 10pm on 01/04/26. Saw email from PRA offering 65% discount for payment to be paid by 05/05/26. Accepted offer. Next day acquired the funds to make the payment, logged in during lunchtime to make the payment to find that the offer had been removed and case transferred by Carissa Rae. Called immediately to question this, was told I had to make contact by today 02/04/26. Explained that it is 02/04/26 and that the offer which I opened yesterday stated that it was active until 05/05/26. Was told my case was transferred out today at 11:52am. There was NO SPECIFIC time to contact them by just that contact needs to be made by 02/04/26. Have raised a formal complaint with PRA GROUP UK. Appalling sent an email offer with a different deadline whilst Carissa Rae is sending email with differing information and NOT honouring the original offer!

Had a lovely phone call with Alexander, with very informative and understanding of my student situation and my ‘non awareness’ of the situation, and very quick to help and get it resolved quickly. Lovely guy, made me feel very at ease at what seemed a scary situation at first.
