I had a similar experience as just received a letter congratulating me on joining the Book Club. I did buy something form Easylife once so assume that is how they got my details. as well as "cancelling"presumably need to alert my bank, paypal and credit company in case they mange to take some money from me. They should be prosecuted but who should I report them to ?

SCAMMER

Sent letter to my grandma, welcoming her to “HOME AND TECH REWARDS”, stating her membership would start next month at £10 a month. My grandma was very worried, said she hadn’t signed up for anything. I called the company and cancelled her “subscription”. They said they’re part of “EASYLIFE”. Supposedly an agent from easylife had rang 3/09/24 and my grandma had signed up, saying yes to this rewards club. This was a lie, my grandma knew nothing about it. I’m now cancelling all accounts with easy life and this club, so no money can be taken. This has worried my grandma, I would hate to think about anyone else being scammed and having payments withdrawn unknowingly. We’re also having to block all bank cards, as we’re unsure what account details she made an easy life order with. This has caused unnecessary worry and stress for her, absolutely criminal what this company/people are doing!! I’m glad we sorted this before more money could have been taken.

Not pleasant...

They just tried to call my mum (81yrs) to say that as she had ordered with them previously they wanted to send her vouchers. Luckily they got me and I wouldn't let them speak to her. They got quite shirty. I asked them to remove her details and not to call again. Lets see. At least she is forewarned now and they won't get anywhere.

Absolute SCAMMERS they phoned my auntie…

Absolute SCAMMERS they phoned my auntie telling her she had won a £50 voucher and about joining the travel club she told them she wasn’t interested but they still sent the travel book and then a book club magazine arrived. Later a letter came from travel club saying they would be taking a payment of £99.99 but she could cancel by the 23rd of August and another letter from book club they would be taking £19.99 and she could cancel by the 23rd August. I phoned both travel and book club to cancel and asked them what part of NO SHE WASNT INTERESTED THEY DIDNT UNDERSTAND. Today she got her bank statement and both these payments had been taken. She’s reported to the fraud team at her bank they are going to send her a new card and get her money back. So SCAMMERS IF YOU TRY TO TAKE ANY MORE YOU WONT GET IT. THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE STOPPED.

SCAM ALERT

People please be aware that this company is stealing money and why they are still operating is beyond me. They wanted to take £24.99 a quarter for something called Medi Bag and £20.99 for The Body Mind and rewards club, they were also wanting money for a book club none of which my Dad of 86yrs old signed up for. I wasn't best pleased and managed to get from Sonia who helped cancel the subscriptions that Easy Life gave them my dads bank details. I have since got my dad a new bank card, this has caused him much worry and distress.

Pretty similar horror story to others on this review site

Pretty similar story. An email out of the blue hoping I'll enjoy trial membership with Premier Motor Club. I emailed confirming a had nothing to do with it and wanted nothing to do with it and they confirmed back they had taken my name of their list. Then a week or two later I got a letter saying the trial period was ending and they will take £65.99 from my card. I emailed them with a copy of their email to me - that failed as the email address on their letter did not work so I used the different email I had used previously and that seemed to work. I also alerted my bank so they would not allow payment.

This business should be closed down

This business should be closed down.
They sent my 91 year old mother letters saying that she had decided to join a) Premier Book Club, b) Premier Cooking Academy, c) Premier Puzzle Book. She had made no such decision and these letters distressed her. The letters stated that books were enclosed. They were not.
I emailed the company to confirm that no subscription should be taken out. I received no response. When letters arrived stating that credit card payments would be taken for £32.99, £59.00 and £74.00 respectively, I called and requested cancellation. They agreed and apologised.
A credit card payment was subsequent taken by the company for £21.74 that the bank flagged as potentially fraudulent. The credit card was cancelled, again generating a lot of distress and aggravation for my mother.

The worst dregs of society

These "people" are scammers to put it politely, criminals in truth. They sent my 77 year old mother some books she didn't request and charged £1.99 to her credit card which she didn't notice. Then every few months they charged her just over £100, split over two entries. This carried on for just over a year before we noticed what was happening. The scam is to send some trivial worthless books once in a while and pretend to be a proper book club whilst actually stealing from old people who might not be on top of every entry in their credit card statement.
I hope the credit card company goes after them, but I am not holding my breath.
My view of such "people" is not for polite society, to call them vermin would insult rats.

SCAM

My 81 yr old dad received a letter addressed to my mother, deceased 18 months informing of a 28 day no obligation trial coming to an end for a motor insurance policy. my mother did not drive. My dads credit card was debited with 65.99. the company could give me no reason or further information as to what we were exactly being charged for, referred me to Easy life, who referred me back to their "promotions dept" - premier motor club. they have now promised a refund within 5 days, we will see. in the meantime I have reported this company to Trading Standards via Citizens advice, together with Easy Life, this is appalling they are preying on the elderly and cannot be allowed to get away with this

Received a letter yesterday.

Received a letter yesterday, August 16th, from Premier motor club stating that my 28 day trial period is ending on August 19 and my membership will be paid for a year to the tune of £65.99.
Three weeks ago I had to order a new debit card so I hope Premier cannot take any money from my account as they will not have any details of my new card.
As it's Saturday August 17th I will go to the bank in half an hour and cancel my new card and order yet another one which, hopefully, will remove any danger of Premier offers club raiding my account.
As a final note it seems the 28 day free trial was for my car. I do not own a car and have not owned one since retiring from driving buses for 42 years and the letter I got yesterday was the first time I'd even heard of Premier offers club!!!
Be warned people!!!

Dave Bosley. (ex London Transport).

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY AND ASSOCIATED…

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY AND ASSOCIATED COMPANIES OF DIRECT RESPONSE MARKETING GROUP LTD.

My parents regularly buy from the Easy Life magazine. Out of the blue my mother received a letter from Premier Cooking Academy welcoming her to the club! My father’s account was debited twice with membership fees. Fortunately my father checks his statements and saw the payments. I tried calling Premier, Monica was very unhelpful and said she couldn’t speak to me as I wasn’t the account holder. When I advised that permission was never given by my mother to set up an account and permission definitely wasn’t given to debit my father’s account and I have now reported as fraud she said she couldn’t help but could only tell me it was connected to Easy Life!
Easy Life were trusted by my parents and have no right in setting up memberships on their behalf. In my opinion this is a group of companies that pray on the mature community. I can’t imagine how many undetected memberships are going through every month.
Sadly I’m guessing that like me you’ll only read this review after being scammed. Disgusting company, those working for them should be totally ashamed of themselves!

ATTEMPTED FRAUD!

My wife received a call at 7.30 p.m. on Friday 9th August 2024 from "Shane" from Premier Offers, who stated he was representing Easy Life - a company from which she has made a number of on-line purchases in the past. He referred to one particular purchase and informed her that this had qualified her to receive £70 worth of vouchers which would be despatched to her within two days. He then proceeded to tell her about two Club memberships which were open to her - Premier Motor Club and Premier Cooking Club - and stated that details would be included with the vouchers. My wife informed him that she did not wish to join any clubs, to which he replied that there was no compulsion to join but he would include details of the offer with the vouchers anyway. As he had not requested any bank or credit card details, my wife said she would read the offer but was not interested; he then rang off. As I suspected this to be a scam, I Googled Premier Offers and came across this site which reported numerous cases of elderly women being signed up, without their knowledge, to these same "Clubs". I telephoned Easy Life the next morning and confirmed that Premier Offers is a partner company which operates a "Rewards Club". The representative stated that she had no record of my wife having joined any of their clubs but admitted (reluctantly) that her "application" might not yet have been registered. She suggested that I should telephone again on Monday to confirm. I did so at 4.50 on Mon 12 Aug and was informed by "Sonya" that my wife had been registered as a member of the two Clubs mentioned above and also the "Premier Buzzle Club". She did not seem surprised when my wife immediately told her that she had NOT agreed to join any of these clubs and agreed to cancel her applications as if it were a normal procedure. She did not explain how Premier Offers was able to sign my wife up to a membership agreement without her signature or how they obtained details of her credit card - other than via Easy Life.
I consider this to be an attempted fraud and my wife has cancelled her credit card. We will not be buying again from Easy Life!

My wife (86) received an unsolicited phone call yesterday. A man thanked her for her order. When she asked what order he did not know. He went on to tell her she would be receiving some vouchers. She said she did not want them. She added that she did not understand all that he was saying. Eventually she hung up. Today I contacted the company and was told that she had been signed up! As she had not given credit card details I asked how they had been obtained. It seems that they are associated with Easylife. We had already had to cancel a membership payment they were trying to take without her permission. Steer clear of both organisations!

A bunch of scamming crooks. Offer to send something for a variety of useless clubs only to claim you have signed up to a trial and owe them £80.

Targeting 86 year old widows?

86 year old widows appear to be a prime target from what I’ve read of these reviews!

So when on a recent visit my 86 year old mum gave me a letter she had received from Premier Motor Club expressing excitement that she had “decided to try out” their services, she and I were both mystified as she no longer drives and there’s no way she would have signed up for this service.

Given that the 28 day free trial period had ended on 14/6/24 but the letter was undated I immediately phoned to find out what was going on. I spoke to a lady named Faith who seemed to have a West Indian accent and her word patterns were just as described in other reports. I insisted on immediate cancellation and confirmation that no payments (the annual fee is £65.99) had been taken. I’ve since checked her bank account and fortunately no out going payment has been made. No explanation of how my mum had “signed up” were forthcoming.

I share the anger expressed in other reports. This is exploitation at its worst and the way this business is operated should be investigated.
