I want a radio station that plays music that makes me happy. Where the presenters enthuse to me about the music out of genuine love, not because they are told to. Where people don't pretend things are ok when they aren't. I want new music from new artists which makes the playlist on its own merit not the size of the machine behind it. I want a station that is as committed to raising money for good causes as it is to making a profit. This is why Primordial Radio is worth every penny. I never realised I also wanted a community of individuals I could chat with on-line and meet at gigs who would become my friends. Primordial Radio is my tribe.

I’ve listen to moose and dews and Jrock for years from the days of Team rock radio on Dab. Through to now setting up their own radio station Primordial it’s the most comprehensive station for all genres of metal in my opinion there’s no other station comes close.

The best place to listen to old / new Rock & Metal.. A real credit to all involved.. It has created a beautiful community
of like minded people and has made my world so much better for being a part of it.. Thank you Primordial..long my it continue 👌

Awesome radio station , cavalcade of whimsy alone is worth 10 stars

2 years ago my cousin sent me this code for a rock station. I thought ooo free shhhh nice. I'll rince that then mug it off. And now here i am writing a review about this radio station i pay actual money to listen too!!!!!!!... Its bat shhh crazy to think anyone would pay to listen to the radio but fudge my life its worth every penny. Moose in the morning followed by ted sometimes fish then Bl8nkp8ge the crazy aussie and into dewsbury in the afternoon wrapped up nicely with pete for presents ( new music) and jhon another nutty aussie into the late evening. And the weekends are just as good. Miss fudging Rach does her kids show on a Sunday morning its swear free. Did i mention that primordial can say what ever they like so its cussing galore especially from ted 🤣... And don't forget to tune into freespin Friday where you control the station for 12 whole hours. Fudge that throws up some stuff. If you love rock metal and everything in between ( and some bat shhhh crazy nonsense) then this is the station for you.

If you love your rock and metal this is definitely the place for you. I've discovered some wonderful new bands as a result and being ad free means its always an enjoyable listen. There is also an amazing community around the station - to the extent where during Covid if you couldn't afford to stay as a subscriber members of the community contributed to a fund so that you could keep listening. After rock and metal fans being left in a barren broadcasting wilderness for so long this is definitely the breath of fresh air we need.

The BEST rock and metal radio station, with no ads, amazing DJs and a huge emphasis on community. You will not regret supporting this incredible business

I've listened to the team from day one and they have been great. From the original team of 3 dj's there are now many more making it a very diverse range of opinions but the thing they have in common is they all play great music. Yes there's a small fee just over a £1 a week and for that you enjoy no ads. Long may the team carry on doing what they do. #eatsoup

Once upon a time..in a gin chair far far away, Moose, Dewsbury and Pete gathered and spoke of many things.. "We want the best in Rock and Metal music" "I don't want adverts" "We want the community to come together" .. and so, it came to pass and we all lived happily ever after.

A real sense of community from all the staff and the audience.

I got turned on to Primordial through a friend who mostly said it was the best community he ever had the privlage to be a part of! That and some kick-assmusic, DJ's and NO BLOODY ADS! A station funded by themselves and the community they play to, which is nice :) I have heard some great new music hear (of which there is plenty and they really give new bands a platform), some of my all time favourites and some stuff I didn't think I would ever like. I find there is no bull to what you get here. The DJ's crack me up (in a good way) and if you don't like one of two of them, well that's just life! We can't like every one and ALL the DJ's play kick-ass music irregardless. But I do like the fact that Primordial mostly run on the ethos of not being a dick to others. They truly support all the members of their community and seem like down to earth, genuine people and I find that incredibly refreshing. All that aside, an amazing radio station and some awesome music. If you like Rock or Metal, then get some of this. Edit: I had to censor language to post this, Primordial won't do that to you! :)

The best Radio station I have ever come across

Outstanding!
I have never felt more personally connected to, and invested in a paid for service than this. From the music, to the presenters to the technical help you receive should you need it there is nothing else like it. Nothing. The large online community is also hugely helpful, very welcoming and full of friendly folk. I never subscribe to anything usually (i.e. Spotify etc), and even though there are shows I don't like, and even a presenter I actively turn off, this is 100% worth every single penny of my money. All day, every day.

This radio station has been fantastic in playing music I love and keeping my finger on the pulse of new music (in the rock and metal genres) which gets harder the older you get. Totally worth every penny!

The music is brilliant, the people are fab and there are no ads. What's not to like?!

I wanted to find a radio that played rock, metal including lots of new music, that wasn't just the 'classics' but a real variety of the genre.

50% of what Primordial plays is new music, they have interviews with bands, live streams and events they normally can hold during the year.

I wondered why would I want to pay when you can find free services but the difference in not having to hear adverts is worth it plus the freedom they have by not having to chase advertising.

The djs have grown over the last 12 months so we have a great variety of people who are all passionate about the community and the music. Not to mention you can normally message and get hold of anyone if you want to share something or need some help, it really is a community build on caring and a love of music.

Another massive plus I have seen is the ability and willingness to change and adapt, they are always progressing and looking for how to better serve the listeners, the rule of do the right thing is actually a followed.

I initially thought I was mad paying for radio, but less than a pint or two I get awesome music in my ears, friendship from the community and great merch! Any issues (wrong size of merch sent) have been promptly rectified and apologies received too.

Found lots of new music, bands I had never heard of but also the oldies are played too, just not as much as some commercial radio. As no adverts you do get much more music too. Always a win.

A company that cares, not just about music but also their community.

If you are struggling financially there is a pot of money to "Sub a Sub" for a time frame no questions asked so you can stay and keep enjoying Primordial.
I have a few Alexa's around the house and can just ask Alexa to play Primordial radio and off we go.
A number of interactions opportunities eg free spin Friday, 12 hours of all requests with a music mix like no other on the planet. One word Wed bingo, Twitch channel and more.

What I have tried before
I tried a 3 month free trial a few years ago and really enjoyed it but found I did not have the time to listen it was the odd hour in the car also when I did in the car the app would sometimes drop out.
With lockdown and home working that all changed, I have Primordial on all day when not on calls. When I have used the updated app on the go it has worked well, the occasional drop out but that is in areas where other rock stations on DAB drop out as well.

Spotify - I have family premium but hardly use it now. In the past I set up playlists/ artist etc to listen to. Get to listen to what I want, have suggestions from Spotify on songs I might like. Sounds good yeah? Now on Primordial I use the thumbs up and thumbs down to let them know what I like and do not like. Use the Heart to make a favourite, then use my favourite list to go to Spotify to listen to more songs from that/those artists. If it was not for the rest of the family using Spotify I would cancel it. Primordial has introduced me to more new music/artists that I like in the last year than Spotify ever did for the previous 5 years.

Other commercial radio stations - got annoyed at regular adverts and the same music being replayed over and over and little new music.

Is it perfect?
Well no. The team are always looking at ways to improve Primordial, updated tech, additional presenters, new ideas etc.
So why 5 Stars - The best out there by a country mile. Worth every penny. Give it a go for a free trial, what have you got to lose? However you have so, so much to gain

Never thought I would pay for radio until I found these guys.
More than a radio station, its a family too!
Plus always playing something new!
