The pool had limited changing rooms, leaving me and my baby cold and nowhere to lie him down to change. When I gave feedback, they put the phone down.

My daughter has been in the swimming classes here for over a year, and the teacher is genuinely excellent — my daughter adores her, and that's the main reason we've stuck around this long.

Unfortunately, the admin side has let us down. Because we travel to visit family overseas twice a year, we've paused our booking during those trips before, and the first time it was handled smoothly — customer service paused payments and rebooked us with no issues. This time was different. We had accumulated credit and several courtesy classes (some due to teacher cancellations), but when we tried to rejoin, the credit didn't show up. Customer service sent me a booking link, and when I clicked on it after 20 minutes — the class closest to us, taught by the teacher my daughter loves — was already full. No priority was given to returning customers, and no comparable alternative was offered.

It feels like the business is more focused on attracting new clients than retaining loyal ones. If it weren't for how much my daughter loves her teacher, I'd have already pulled her out.

We've been with Puddle Ducks for both of our children, and I honestly can't praise the swimming lessons enough. Both of our children have made brilliant progress, and that is entirely down to Becky being such an outstanding teacher. She has built fantastic, trusting relationships with both of our children and with us as parents, which has made such a difference to their confidence and enjoyment in the water.

Becky and Lillian are both incredibly welcoming, friendly, and supportive. They genuinely couldn't do more to help families, and they are a real credit to Puddle Ducks.

Unfortunately, our experience with the company's customer service has been the complete opposite. On several occasions, I have received rude and unhelpful emails from the office staff, who have not made us feel valued as customers.

The most disappointing experience was when I emailed to ask whether there were any plans to introduce a Level 3 class at the Eastbourne venue. Our daughter had completed Level 2, and we were hoping to avoid having to drive all the way to Crowborough each week. We weren't complaining—we simply wanted to know if there were any future plans because we wanted to stay with Puddle Ducks rather than take our business elsewhere.

Louisa's response was extremely disappointing. She simply told me there were no plans for a Level 3 class and that she could "help me" move my custom elsewhere. I was genuinely shocked by the lack of courtesy and customer care in her response.

To make matters even more frustrating, just a couple of weeks later we received an email announcing that they had been working for a long time to bring a Level 3 class to Eastbourne and were looking forward to welcoming families in September. If those plans had already been underway, I don't understand why that couldn't have been communicated in response to my email instead of receiving such a dismissive reply.

Our children's experience with Becky and Lillian has been exceptional, and they deserve every bit of praise for the wonderful work they do. It's just a shame that the customer service from the office doesn't reflect the same high standard.

I would recommend the Eastbourne sessions based on Becky and Lillian alone but the level of customer service offered by this company massively lets it down and the owners/ managers should seriously consider retraining their office staff. Having spoken to several other parents at the sessions, i know that we are not the only ones whom have experienced their poor customer service. A few parents have chosen to take their custom elsewhere because of it.

In only 3 months we've had multiple cancelled classes and 5 different teachers.
Teachers are hit and miss, some very combative and do not listen to parents
One grabbed my daughter despite our protests and berated me when I asked her repeatedly to give her back.

It really depends on your teacher, we've had some great ones and one awful one. The awful one ruined our confidence and made our daughter cry each time we took her swimming

My two grandsons stayed with me for a year, and during that time they made incredible progress in the water. When they arrived, they could float and swim underwater, but they needed to improve their swimming strokes and build strength and confidence.
With patient instructors, encouragement, and regular practice, they developed strong swimming skills and became much more confident in the water. It was wonderful to see how much they grew over the year. I highly recommend these swimming lessons to anyone looking for caring, professional instructors that truly help children build both skills and confidence.

My little one started when she was 4 months old, she’s now just turned 1 and absolutely loves her Puddle Ducks swimming lessons!

Her confidence has grown so much and her lovely swim teachers have been fantastic - helping both her and mummy’s confidence grow. Originally I had planned on my daughter attending for a few months at the start before switching to a cheaper leisure centre lesson but I honestly think the songs, the activities, the sense of community and the knowledge of the instructors is worth every penny!

cannot recommend Puddle Ducks East Sussex highly enough! The teaching methods here are absolutely incredible. The instructors are so engaging, patient, and skilled at building confidence in the water while keeping lessons fun and structured.
​The progress my daughter has made since joining is nothing short of amazing. Her confidence, technique, and enjoyment of the water have grown beyond expectation. It’s fantastic to watch her thrive each week in such a supportive and warm environment.

Been taking my two (1.5 and 3.5) to puddle ducks northwich since the oldest was a few months old. The purpose built pool and changing rooms are fab. Every teacher we’ve had has been great!

They have been teaching my children’s for a few years and all the teachers haven been wonderful. The progress is fantastic to see. Would recommend to anyone

Lovely team, methodical yet very fun way of teaching children. My daughter loves her swimming classes. I like the idea that if I can’t make it one day, I will get a courtesy class instead so o don’t lose my money.

My 6yr old and 3yr old love attending their classes. My 6yr old has done so well in the academy, his confidence in the water is wonderful to watch. The staff really get to know each child as an individual and know what they are capable of, but are also great at pushing the children enough for them to reach their full potential.

Tash and Ally at Lechlade Puddleducks make every class fun and safe for all the little ones - it is my daughter’s favourite time of the week!

My son loves his swimming lessons with Puddle Ducks, and I love the clean facilities and friendly teachers and poolside assistants. Everything is very well organised and fun!

Free trial went well when in the water, however instructors “suggestions” were forceful.

My decisions were not respected and spoken to like a child.

We love Puddle Ducks! Sally is a wonderful teacher at the Poolhouse in Barnsley. She is patient, calm and informative talking you through each of the moves, giving clear instructions and adaptations if needed. I like that she links everything back to babies development. We love taking Evie here and really like the venue too it is a lovely setting.

I always thought Puddle Ducks seemed an expensive swimming provision for children. That’s until I became disillusioned with the offering my local leisure centre had, where my child did the same thing each week with little skill or learning to swim involved.

And wow! What a difference! The Puddle Ducks classes are fantastic and more than worth it. I’m just annoyed I didn’t make the change sooner! My child has made leaps of progress, even at the young age of three. She has become confident in water and is learning life saving skills each session. Her teacher is really passionate and is in the water with the children, so can instruct and teach much more efficiently. The sessions are fun and engaging. Each child’s ability and confidence are always respected and they are never pushed out side of their comfort zone. Thoroughly recommend - a great provision!
