This method is a scientifically proven, innovative treatment, aimed at not just managing but fundamentally transforming one's relationship with alcohol. It allows individuals to gain control over their drinking, whether they choose to reduce their alcohol consumption or cease it altogether. It’s about facilitating choice and empowerment, rather than imposing abstinence, allowing individuals to reshape their lives on their own terms.

Rethink drink has changed my life
Rethink drink has changed my life. With the help of naltrexone and the 1:1 coaching I have found it relatively easy to reduce my alcohol to a level I had only have dreamed of. As someone who previously read these reviews with scepticism I can tell you with all honesty it works, it really works. If you need help with alcohol try rethink drink, you won't regret it.
This is a game changer
This is a game changer. Dont believe me. Do your own research. I’m in control. I’m free. Alcohol doesn’t dictate me. Look up naltrexone. Endorphins and alcohol. Take back your life. I did. Jeepers what are you waiting for?
If I Can Do It - You Can Do It.
I had my first drink when I was three years old. By the time I retired from work, I was drinking two bottles of wine every night and knew that alcohol was having adverse effects on my health. I had tried the traditional routes of abstinence and that just made things worse.
Researching alternative treatment options, I came across a treatment called the Sinclair Method, which I immediately saw could be what I was searching for!
Further online research, pointed me to a UK company called Rethink Drink, that specialises in delivering the Sinclair Method through a combination on one to one coaching, peer support and medical supervision. After an introductory one to one, with one of their coaches, I signed up and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Their aim isn't to get you off alcohol, its to get you to the point where you are in charge and you can control the amount you drink.
In my case, prior to Rethink Drink, I was drinking around 115 units of alcohol every week. Within seven weeks I was down to zero units every week. Thirty five weeks on, I just don't think of alcohol and I don't want alcohol, I occasionally go out at night with friends and i'm happy to sit with a glass of lager in front of me and leave at the end of the night with the glass still half full and to be honest, I just feel that alcohol is boring and cant understand why I allowed it to take over my life.
When I reached out to the Rethink team, I was at a tipping point and knew that if I didn't get help, I would become a full blown alcoholic, which I was desperate to avoid. Rethink were fantastic, they are highly knowledgeable and supported me in my recovery journey and I cant thank them enough for helping me get my life back.
Alcohol is a highly addictive drug, but you can get your life back and take control of your life with Rethink Drink.s support - give them a call. If I can do it - you can do it!

I’m so incredibly proud of the progress…
I’m so incredibly proud of the progress I’ve made since joining last spring. I didn’t really know what to expect but I put full trust in their method and felt fully supported, non judged and cheered on throughout. I felt complete trust and at ease with my brilliant coach Steve. I could not recommend these guys more - such an eye opener to a sometimes complicated relationship with alcohol, which for too many of us is not healthy. Six out of five stars!
I’ve recently completed the Rethink…
I’ve recently completed the Rethink Drink program, and I honestly never, ever thought I would beat my alcohol issue — but here I am.
Before starting, I was drinking nearly 100 units a week. Now I’m down to around 17 units, if not less, which still feels unbelievable to say.
I want to say a huge thank you to my coach, who has been there week in, week out, supporting me through my ups and my downs. Their patience, encouragement, and belief in me never wavered, even when I struggled. My coach is no longer just my coach — they are now a friend I will have for life, and that means everything to me.
The support from the other coaches and the group members was incredible too. Being part of a group where people genuinely understand what you’re going through made me feel less alone.
This program is life-changing. Rethink Drink isn’t just a program — it’s a supportive, caring community that helps you completely rethink your relationship with alcohol and shows you that real, lasting change is possible. I’m incredibly grateful for this experience and would recommend it to anyone who feels stuck or thinks they’ll never change — because I was that person.
It works ! And I will always be so grateful that I did this as it saved me.
Rethink Drink has changed my life
Rethink Drink has changed my life! It has shown me how to manage alcohol now, instead of alcohol managing me. The Sinclair Method using naltrexone has given me a greater understanding of the addiction side of drink and how I respond to it. Understanding this gives me control back and took away my fear of addiction. Other programs which rely on self restraint can set you up to fail, and I knew that that form of treatment wouldn’t work for me. Rethink Drink has given me the support and tools I need to overcome my former unhealthy alcohol habit.
I can't thank Rethink enough
I can't thank Rethink (and naltrexone/The Sinclare Method) enough. I have always struggled to have an 'off switch' once l started drinking but this approach changed that. I can now go out for 'one or two' and can go to work events without worrying about my drinking. Steve was a great support throughout and Bruce picked up my referral on a Sunday afternoon and called me the same day. I feel that Rethink are doing tjis work for the right reasons. The cost was very competitive (a lot cheaper than drinking was costing me). You carry on having access to the medication even after completing the programme and l feel that l could contact Steve again if l needed to. Before starting with Rethink l was really worried about my future but now l feel very positive. I have a very close friend who is in AA so l will not knock that approach in any way but l knew it wasn't right for me. Rethink gave me another option. My health is better, my anxiety is better and l am starting to like myself again. 5*****
no regrets
no regrets
after a very stressful period in my life i ended up drinking a bottle of red wine a night and 2 at weekends and just couldn't stop it. after doing loads of research on how to stop drinking (aa not for me, no horror stories to tell) i found the sinclair method and bruce who was amazing. i did the course about 7 years ago and now only get a prescription once a year when i go on holiday. i can enjoy a couple of glasses of wine with friends who don't quiz me on why i don't drink (no i didn't have vodka for breakfast which is where people go if you tell them you don't drink) no time off work for rehab which doesn't work anyway. you won't regret it its been life changing and i can't thank bruce enough
This has been a life changing…
This has been a life changing experience for me. For years I was a weekend binge drinker. I could stay sober all week but as soon as the weekend came, and I had that first drink I was off drinking till I blacked out.
I had lost my control over alcohol and could no longer regulate my drinking. I would start out with the intention of only having a couple and end up unconscious.
Signing up with this programme was the best decision I ever made. It's saved my life. I can now drink sensibly. I can even have one drink and choose to stop at that. It's changed my life.
I would recommend RETHINK DRINK and this treatment to anyone who is struggling with their drinking. Everyone is great, super helpful, and non judgemental.
I give this five stars, these people deserve all the praise they get. This is the best decision I ever made.
This programme has saved my life!
This programme has saved my life!
After drinking far to much and excessive during stressful periods I stumbled across the their live show on tik tok. I signed up and will never look back.Although it took about 3 weeks for me to start working, it's definitely working now as I barely drink any alcohol now. I have had pancreatitis and been in hospital for this , I hated my life and felt depressed but now I am feeling incredibly well and on top of the world most days. The support i receive from Rethink Drink Support workers is second to none. This is the biggest health achievement I have ever made and I hope I can help others through their thick and thin of Life with their alcohol addiction and healing ❤️
BLESS YOU ALL WHO ARE SUFFERING!
ITS NOT THE END , LIFE BEGINS HERE WITH RETHINK DRINK SINCLAIR PROGRAMME.
THEY DESERVE A MEDAL FOR HELPING ME OUT OF THE DEEPEST HOLE EVER!
THANK YOU BILLIONS RETHINK DRINK
for helping the most difficult case " Me"
Life-Changing Support with the Sinclair…
Life-Changing Support with the Sinclair Method
After years of trying to quit drinking through abstinence programs, reading "quit lit," CBT, and even hypnosis, I always ended up relapsing—each time feeling more like a failure. Discovering Rethink Drink and the Sinclair Method changed everything for me.
Taking naltrexone one hour before drinking has allowed me to regain control over alcohol, rather than it controlling me. There’s no more white-knuckling, no more shame spirals—just steady progress and real, lasting change.
What made this journey truly transformative was the support of my coach, Steve. He was compassionate, knowledgeable, and completely non-judgemental. Every small win was celebrated, and I always felt seen and encouraged rather than judged.
Today, I feel happier, healthier, and hopeful for a future free of blackouts and binge drinking. For the first time in a long time, I don’t feel like a failure—I feel empowered.
If you’ve struggled like I did, I can’t recommend Rethink Drink enough. This method gave me my life back.
Game Changing!
I read about The Sinclair Method in a newspaper article and it sparked my interest to find out more and ultimately led me to finding Rethink Drink.
I knew I was no longer in control of my drinking and had been unable to address it myself and was at the point I knew I had to do something.
Matt guided me through the whole process and throughout he was down to earth, kind, empathetic and unwavering in his support, encouragement and patience.
Like others who have left reviews I can honestly say the programme has been a game changer for me. Prior to beginning it, I couldn't contemplate a day without at least a bottle of wine. 1 year on, alcohol no longer has a hold on me, I can take it or leave it. I occasionally have a few glasses of wine on a weekend. For me now to be in control is the most fantastic feeling and one I could never have imagined.
It completely baffles me why this method is not offered on the NHS. I cannot thank Matt and the Rethink Drink Team enough for the work they are doing, they are truly changing lives!
Steve has been a breath of fresh air…
Steve has been a breath of fresh air and a great source of comfort and advise. The Sinclair method (using naltrexone) is an absolute game changer. I have tried the Priory and AA and what they don't tell you are two things, 1 a 90% failure rate in first year and 2, there is an alternative. I did not like being associated with a cult and Rethink Drink allows me to enjoy life without the pressure of being told You Can't Drink. The Sinclair Method is working for me and I am enjoying life again. Naltrexone should be available on the NHS in the long run it would save £££££££'s
Thank you!!
I’m not going to write a cheesy review but when I say rethink drink saved me and my career I mean it.
I knew I had been struggling with alcohol abuse for about 9 months before I had the courage to reach out for help. My first experience was with AA where I was told I had to go stone cold sober and have the willpower to never touch alcohol again- simply put, during every meeting all I was thinking was how excited I was to open a bottle of vodka after and I did every time.
A TikTok popped up on my for you page by rethink drink and it spoke about how alcoholism isn’t being addicted to the drink itself but the endorphins released and therefore fighting a hormonal addiction can be treated with medication and not just a mindset. You no longer have to be sober to be a recovered alcoholic.
Drunk, I signed up and it was the best decision I could’ve made. I had my medical evaluation with a qualified GP who specialised in treating alcohol abuse with naltrexone and I discovered I was drinking around 100 units a week.
Being only 18 years old I felt embarrassed and ashamed going into my first coaching session but my coach Steve was so kind and welcoming I instantly felt understood, especially when he shared his experience and how it correlated to mine.
I am now 6 months after my first coaching call and I have gone from 100 units weekly to 30 units and now having the choice whether I want to drink or not.
Not only do I physically look healthier but I am doing so much better in my work, mental health and life in general. (I know that sounded cheesy but I don’t know how else to put it) and I now have the choice whether I want to drink, how much to drink and when to drink all because of a pill and an amazing coach
Thank you Steve and thank you Rethink Drink!!!!!
Not judgemental or pushy
Not judgemental or pushy. Matt was so friendly and helpful and made the whole thing easy to understand and easier to do. Tried loads of other methods before this that didn't work but this is a different thing altogether
Try it.
Rethink drink and the sinclair method is an absolute game changer. Having struggled with my relationship with alcohol for several years it's no exaggeration to say that this method has revolutionised my life. I feel like I have control again and it's improved all aspects of my life, work, relationships, self esteem. Taking naltrexone one hour before drinking coupled with an excellent coach in Steve who will guide you through the whole process without judgment is all it takes. What was previously a seemingly impossible task is now possible. I can't recommend this and rethink drink enough. Thank you to all the team 🙏
A Wife's Perspective
PJ and me have been together for 16 years and drink has always been there - like a second wife that I didn't want or sign up for (actually more like a second husband I didn't invite to the wedding - there was 'my PJ' and then 'drunk PJ' and they were very different)
He never drank in the house but would often disappear, turn up days later, skint, hungover and full of promises and apologies, until even they stopped
So, we started Rethink Drink.
I say we - but really PJ signed up. I was super sceptical. Another thing to try, but Matt seemed to know what he was talking about - he'd tried the same things PJ had. PJ had tried AA (which I find weird - first thing you say is your name?!), cold turkey and tablets from the doc that turned out to be vitamins. None of that worked long term
Back to rethink Drink:
PJ was focussed - I'd seem that before
He said this would work - I'd heard that before
But i thought, give it a go, we haven't tried this yet
I know PJ is capable of bigger and better things (more than just getting pissed)
I'll be honest, I was disappointed when Matt said "keep drinking the usual amount".
Like what? PJ's now encouraged to drink? Isn't that the opposite of what we're meant to do? i wanted him to stop full stop - 'not manage it'
But Matt encouraged me too, answered every question, was always there (not like calls at 3am, but nothing was off the table)
So we got going
One early suggestion was try drinking in the house. I thought 'great now I have to deal with him drunk in the house, but ok what else have we got to lose?'
Then, getting drunk stopped being an issue - WTF?
Not just for him - for me. It had been a trigger: pacing the house if he was out, knowing he'd come home loud, argumentative, hard to deal with. That went away
And it went pretty quickly, though we had so much else going on at the time that I didn't notice exactly when it changed
This was during one of the hardest times we've faced as a family - and suddenly PJ's drinking was no longer an issue
Where are we now?
Honestly, i couldn't give a rat's ass if PJ drinks or not. I don't even ask anymore. If he's out late I leave the door unlocked (don't burgle me I'm poor). Rough the next day? Sick bowl and my super duper awful hangover cure (slight wife revenge - recipe on request)
There's no trigger for me now.
And PJ? He's more settled, excited about the future, making plans, revamping old projects and starting new ones. Not the angry pissed off guy he was just 14 weeks ago, hiding in the pub, making promises he couldn't keep and kicking himself for it later. He's back to being 'my' PJ - the guy I married
We've got a lot closer (I could go into detail but trust me you don't want me to) Intimacy is easier and a lot more enjoyable. We're more open, no worry i might upset him and he'll go tot he pub. We feel rock solid - ready for the next drama (and this time it won't be booze related - I don't think it ever will be again)
I'm so proud of PJ but it's more than what it's done for him. I see a change in me too. No issues, worries or triggers with alcohol anymore. Now I just get to moan at PJ about normal wife stuff - like 'why can't you ever find anything?'
So, if you're unsure, on the fence - just go for it. It's worth it.
(And no one pays me to say this stuff - I do it for free!)
Are you a wife suspicious that this 'dodgy new guy' on the internet is encouraging your man to drink?
Don't sweat it - it's part of the process. Give him the space and support to go through it. You'll be thanking him and Matt later
To sum up:
How would it feel to not give a rat's ass if your partner drank or not?
If your answer is 'it would be awful, he must stop drinking now', encourage him to stay in AA and cross your fingers
If your answer is 'that would be awesome' - hit up Matt in a DM.
Trust me, it works. He knows what he's talking about.
It won't just change alcohol - it'll change your life
The short version
We've been together for 16 years. Alcohol was PJs second wife - not the nice kind
Rethink Drink didn't just change how he drinks - it changed everything
No trigger, no drama, no walking on eggshells
Just my PJ back, our marriage stronger and me free to moan about he usual wife stuff
If you're on the fence - jump. It's worth it
Yes, he drinks sometimes. No, I don't care anymore
And no Matt didn't pay me to say this (but I wouldn't say no to a box of Yorkshire tea mate, just saying)
A game changer and life saver
I can’t praise the Rethink Drink team and TSM enough. I’ve got my life and self respect back, together with renewed respect and pride from my partner, son and friends.
Having an unhealthy, daily alcohol habit for many years, which displayed increasingly in my behaviour, I knew I needed to take responsibility and do something about it.
I had approached and enrolled with local NHS services twice and had been terminated (twice) as I could not be available in person for all sessions, living part of the year abroad. I didn’t want abstinence; I enjoyed a drink, I needed moderation.
I was delighted to discover on the internet an approach that appeared to meet all my needs; medication (Naltrexone) to stop craving (sensible – smokers and drug users get this on the NHS!) and reroute the neural endorphin pathway,
moderation or abstinence as a choice, on-line support and coaching sessions.
I gave Bruce a call, chatted with the expert doctor and my incredible journey began with great excitement – my last chance. Progress has been amazing; with exemplary, empathetic support from Matt and encouraging group Zoom coaching calls hosted by Bruce, Matt and Steve. It’s very liberating to chat about progress with people on the same, but differing, journeys.
Matt introduced habitual changes gradually and comfortably at my own pace to a level where I can say I’m comfortable where I am. Cheers – this has been a game changer and life saver. I have got me back.
