Well-earned rant incoming...
Well-earned rant incoming.... With an existing rating of 1.7/5 from 117 reported experiences on Y (elp), I will relate my experience here to spread the word. The level of displayed incompetence at State Dept. FCU (evidenced by low-quality staff or enforced by poor management-issued rules) is enough to have this registered, regulated financial organization shut down. Thank heavens for the National Credit Union Administration insuring deposits here!
When I twice spoke to a SDFCU reps, they said the notes on my application included an "inability to find me" based on the government records I submitted: a passport, a CA "real ID" and a social security card. You gotta be kidding me.
I have no debt besides the home I've owned and lived in for 25 years, keeping a decades-long FICO score alternating between 830-850, no bankruptcies, defaults, etc. I have NO adverse conditions attached to my personal existance/data/records. In fact, even as a "regular person" I'm still likely in the top 10% most-frequently/repeatedly/regularly background-checked people in the country, because of my job, which I couldn't get unless I had a top reputation.
My clients have always been in banking, government, schools (so additional check types are required) and drug companies, plus I have GlobalEntry and according to Homeland/CPB I am absolutely easy to be validated by even the least-experienced banking rep. But somehow SDFCU rep(s) couldn't manage it, yet STANFORD CU was easily able to remotely validate me THIS WEEK as well, using the exact same documentation!
I surrender, given the overwhelming poor ratings elsewhere and am sharing my experience here as well.
