It rained and snowed all day but they still denied the claim. Total scam Do not buy.

We were travelling to Upstate NY with the possibility
of snow in the forecast. It seemed like a good idea to insure our hotel costs.
When the snow came, Sensible Weather contacted us to tell us we qualified for a reimbursement.
Imagine that, an insurance company contacting you to give you money!!!

First time user. I was pleasantly surprised on the payout for the day we got rain on our vacation in Key West.

Frequent contacts to be sure we where informed of our plan and how it works. Luckily, we did not need to use it because we had beautiful weather but if we did it seems it would have been a fairly easy process.

Weather turner out perfect and we had a blast.

I find it hard to believe that this type of weather guarantee reimbursement service can deny a claim based on measurement and duration parameters they set when they do not have a representative at the golf course the customer is playing. They simply respond that according to their information the conditions for a claim were not met. This is not very specific and my confidence level for the source of their data is low. Its true I didn't measure the actual rainfall, nor did I record the duration of the rainfall which was on and off for the holes I did play. Unfortunately, the conditions became unpleasant and uncomfortable and my group needed to stop. Such weather can also impact your health.

However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that after my original review above, and subject to a further review of my claim, that the organization - Sensible Weather, who I had contracted for a guarantee, reconsidered their original assessment and decided to accept my explanation of why I felt I should qualify for reimbursement. This was considerate and a very good demonstration of superior business practices and professionalism. I felt that I had now been properly treated as a person and not a number. I would not hesitate to recommend this Company. Thank you again.

Knowing we had options if the weather went bad.

It says that it covers “light rain” when advertised on hotel websites, but the hourly rainfall amounts required are closer to heavy rain, and to get the full guarantee, it has to be sustained heavy rain for over 6 hours. The guidelines weren’t provided to me until after I paid as well. They won’t provide details on how their “proprietary data sources” determine rainfall amounts, which is very sketchy. If you ask, they will say that they can’t share their data, but they will provide some supporting info from NOAA. If you do experience extended heavy rain, it will pay automatically, which is helpful. At the end of the day, the deceptive advertising and high price makes it not worth the cost if it’s only covering your hotel. I think it would be worth it for something like a one-day outdoor activity like an ATV/UTV excursion or sightseeing tour, if it’s offered for that.
