In the end we have a shed similar to what we ordered
Update to the original review - after almost daily phone calls, to Sheds Direct we have a she’d built. We ended up having to cut pieces of the kit we received to make the shed we’d ordered (with some doors and a window from our local Habitat Restore). We hesitated to update the review, as the company still suffers from communication issues with its local contractors - a guy drove 110 miles to deliver a sheet of OSB Masonite - only problem was we were finishing the shed when he arrived - after we’d received an email saying it would be another week before it would be at our house - the Backyard Products contractor who had originally delivered the shed missed his commitment by days (with no communication with us). In fairness, the kit we received was high quality, so we can’t knock them there. And while some reps tried to do the right thing, promised return phone calls came in the form of “I’m calling to see if everything is OK”. While we appreciated the partial refund of the purchase price, the request to update our rating feels disingenuous as it was the only time the company owned up to a royal screwup. The point of ordering the kit was convenience and speed of construction. Instead, we spent days and a lot of hours sourcing materials and reconfiguring the shed construction to result in what we wanted - the refund basically comped us for time and materials. So the 3 stars is really an aggregate score - 4 stars on the material but at most 2 stars on customer service.
Ordered a shed at the end of May. Received a call two weeks later saying they’d be unable to deliver it due to a failure on the trailer they use for deliveries (their contractor in Cincinnati). After not hearing anything for a week we called and learned they had a new trailer come in. Then it’s been crickets. We’ve called daily since asking for a delivery date and now they’re “working with the warehouse on it. If you don’t hear from someone by 5pm, call us tomorrow.” If you have unlimited time in your schedule to sit around waiting for the day your she’d will be delivered, this is the place for you. 75% of the CS reps simply parrot back how frustrated we must be - USELESS customer service.
