Faulty item received and company refusing to take any responsibility or offer any refund without us losing 40% of what we paid!
I am very disappointed to be writing this but I do not want anyone else having to go through the stress and disappointment that we are going through right now with a baby arriving in the next two weeks!
We purchased the x4 piece Lancaster grey bedroom set. We appreciate it isn't the most expensive range of furniture but it is for our little boys bedroom and was still £309! The three wardrobe doors have holes all over the fronts of them which are very obvious. We took videos and sent these to the company asking for replacement wardrobe doors, for them to reply saying that this is how the furniture is meant to look! It looks like someone has owned the furniture before us and has hammered holes incorrectly into the doors! Also if the item is meant to come like this then why is this not specified in the description on the website?!
We then requested a full refund to be told that returned items only receive a 60% refund ... but we are not wanting to return the item by choice, it is very obviously faulty.
We appreciate that times are hard for companies and we really do hate to complain and understand that it is not ideal for the company to have to sort all of this with their supplier but the service since receiving the furniture set has been appalling.
And the final factor causing me to leave this review was being told in an email from the company "there is no helping some people" ...

Hi Kate, thanks for your feedback, which we believe is only fair to reply to.
Firstly, I see you have left a total of 3 reviews and all complaints, so I do not find your review surprising.
As we explained to your partner (Euan) the holes in the corners are 1 mm pin tacks to hold the edging in place, without this they would fall off. They aren't noticeable to the naked eye from a small distance but zoomed in on a camera will look a lot worse, they are also symmetrically placed and it clearly looks like part of the design. As for 'All over the doors' i believe from your images, this is 2 pin holes at each end of the trim in the 4 corners. The furniture purchased is not MDF and therefore not fillable and paintable like suggested but is paper on board as clearly mentioned in the description of the product on both our website and the website that you asked us to price match to £293.71, which we happily did. We assumed therefore that you had done your homework on the product.
There are lots of reviews for this item online, some good, some bad, but many appreciate the fact it is excellent looking furniture, which doesn't look budget, but definitely is. We have sold over 50+ sets during lock down alone and not received one complaint over the pin holes. Those who have received scratched or damaged parts have had them replaced. However we explained to you this is how they are manufactured and that they are like this on our shop floor models, which you are welcome to view.
We did say if you are not happy with the item, we can arrange collection or you can return to us at your own expense but as per our terms and conditions this is chargeable at the 'suppliers' rate which in this case is £65. As its simply the fact that you no longer want the item, the original delivery fees (£55 originally paid by ourselves - proof if requested) would also not be refunded to you, as we would not be refunded this from the wholesalers.
As a reseller of this highly sought after & competitive product we barely make profit and we already lowered that when you asked for a price match. It is not our policy to 'try before you buy' and therefore we do not pay for this privilege, you are requesting.
After several emails from yourself with the promise of a bad review and taking us to trading standards on two occasions, requesting us to back down on the fees and demanding a full refund, accusing us of manipulating the images supplied by the wholesaler and not supplying exactly what you ordered (even though it is), the above comment was made at 11.11pm after a very long day! and we apologise for being human.
The total charge works out at up to 40% again as clearly explained in our terms and conditions, which I agree in your instance is a hefty fee, but these are not light items - a total of 136 KG between 4 parcels and a 2 man delivery service - evidence of the charge we paid and the collection/admin fee is available on request to show you that we do not profiteer from this in anyway.
Sincere apologies we cannot seem to provide you with a mutual solution despite our efforts which we do not believe is appalling in any sense of the matter, but following procedure and good luck with the baby.
update: GFW have kindly offered to send replacement doors, however they have confirmed the trim is added after they are wrapped so the pin holes are unavoidable and you should be under no illusion that the replacement doors will be pin hole free.

I have been really impressed with this company. Because the item I wanted was out of stock I called them to find out when I could get it. I was expecting delivery of my chair to be approx 3 weeks from my order date but I ordered it and they called within 2 days to say they could deliver it. I literally had the chair in my living room 2 hours later!....and I love it! I dealt directly with a lady called Diane who was very helpful and honest and I would recommend this company.

Great experience with SHOC…
Great experience with SHOC Furniture..tried to get a bed initially with a high street brand to be told it would be a November delivery at the earliest. Contacted Diane at 11am and it was delivered at 7pm the same day. Brilliant service and really good prices. Thank you so much, I’ll be back!

I have just taken delivery of an Alliance BIMP Deluxe High Back Draughtsman Chair
I have just taken delivery of a Draughtsman Chair.
My entire experience with Diane from Shoc Furniture was great from my first enquiry right through to receiving excellent advice.
The choices of fabrics and extras are plentiful and delivery was very fast for a bespoke item.I was kept up to date with the progress of my order.
The chair is so comfortable and looks great.
The only surprise was the poor packaging, BUT this is down to the Manufacturer NOT Shoc Furniture.
Thanks Diane - my chair and I will be very happy together! :-)

Items advertised as in stock are not in stock.
Items advertised as in stock and next day delivery available. After ordering was told that the items were not in stock and were expected in 2 to 4 weeks.
Was offered upgrades which I agreed to only to be informed 2 days later that these were sold out as well.
Checked the website and all these items are still showing as in stock..

Many thanks for your review, we are sorry that you are not happy, but as explained during this time and as it states on the website, we are dealing with exceptionally high demand of orders for the Nitro Concepts chair. Which you were aware of because you have failed to secure anywhere else! You were offered an alternative via email, which by the time we received your reply, these were sold out, as explained we have stocks becoming available on a daily basis hence why they are offered for sale still...As for the website showing items as in stock - we only simply have in or out of stock but we do take back orders for those who have patience to wait for goods, we change items to no stock if they are going to exceed 4 weeks. I think slightly unfair to leave this feedback as you were informed during the process and also offered the option to cancel for refund.

I ordered a draughtsman chair for my home office. The ordering process was straight forward, communication excellent throughout, delivery was prompt. When I unpacked the chair and assembled it (very basic assembly) I was super pleased with the quality and the overall product was exactly what I needed.
