Beware these people are criminals Warsaw airport SIXT car rental
I will lend my voice to the chorus of people telling you not to rent from this agency. SIXT has stolen $719 for me. I returned the car in perfect condition. They have lied and said I damaged it. They said they emailed me, letting me know that they were charging me for damage. I never received it. Then they sent me ridiculous photographs that I believe are fake allegedly showing damage. For a tiny scratch, which I did not even do they have Charged me $719 and they sent me an invoice saying it cost them 2000 to fix. They are criminals.

Unfortunately I was yet another victim of what seems to be a recurrent scam in this place. I rented a VW Tiguan model 2024 for 17 days while in Poland, also included 2 child/toddler car seats, in a total of nearly 800 euros. Returned the car without any issues, but received an email a couple of days later saying they were investigating some damage.
They followed up in the next day saying "By checking the condition of the car after your drop off, it has been noted that the car has been damaged during your rental. Details please find in the attachment. The repair cost of this damages was calculated by our Technical Department for 772,53 PLN gross (146,84 EUR net) and was added to your invoice." - you can see the damage in the attached photos, it's a 2cm scratch in the wheel cover, that I'm not sure happened during our rental and could probably be brushed off, but their technical team decided that the part needed to be replaced, or at least is what their invoice says...
I had problems with dishonest people before, so didn't spend too much time arguing about it, I just asked Sixt for 3 things (1) better photos of the damage, (2) photos from the damaged part before my rental and (3) the address for me to collect the removed part - if they will charge me for a new part, I might as well have the old one.
After nearly three weeks, they finally responded saying that they do not have photos of the vehicle before my rental and that is not their practice to return damaged vehicle components. So basically I'm supposed to believe they replaced the fully functional, original part, of the vehicle, providing only a receipt issued by themselves.

Stay away from this company
I rented a car in May of 2024. After returning it, they claimed that there was damage on the rim (front passenger) and charged me $141. Such damage can only be caused by hitting a curb and being the only driver of the car, I know no such event occurred. I am still disputing the charges with the credit card, but I will never rent from Sixt again.
Fraud damages, broken procedures (WAW)
RENTER BEWARE .. this is the 2nd time that I have been accused of damages which I did not incur (their damage charges $USD484)
The 1st time I had this SCAMMY experience with them, Jun 2019, I actually had photo proof of their LIES after physical inspections of the car (OUT and IN) with one of their reps and photo documentation during those walk-throughs. They actually reversed their tune after being presented with the facts.
This time, July 2024, I neglected to have OUT/IN inspections with photos and they pounced again with LIES and FRAUD. The facts are:
THEY MOVED THE CAR after me parking it,
THEY WASHED THE CAR before inspecting it,
THEY REPORTED DAMAGES 5 days after returning it.
Their check-in/inspection procedures are broken. They should NOT MOVE, NOT WASH and thereafter INSPECT. And they should not take several days to document damage.
After many years of using SIXT, I will NEVER EVER rent from them again. The cost and the risk of their DAMAGE SCAM is much too great.
If they hadn't moved and washed the car.
If they had reported the damages in a timely manner, such as several hours.
I'd have no leg to stand on, however this was not the case.
Oh and BTW, the damage was NOT there upon my return, but somehow magically appeared after they moved and washed the vehicle.
Read the other reviews, the message is clear.... SIXT = SCAM .. save yourself the aggravation.

Beware of fraudulent charges
I do not recommend this company. We rented from Sixt at the Krakow airport. After we returned the car they notified us that they were investigating a missing luggage cover. We informed them immediately that the vehicle did not have a luggage cover when we rented it. They came back with photos showing no luggage cover (duh!) and charged our card an additional 477 Euros. This is absolute fraud. We are disputing the charge of course but what a hassle! Don't trust them.
Extremely Disappointing Experience at SIXT Warsaw Airport
I'm giving a 1-star review due to my unacceptable experiences with SIXT at Warsaw Airport. I was charged for a minor scratch under 15mm on a door, which seems trivial and clearly within their own guidelines for acceptable wear. Although their customer service did respond, they were uncooperative and insisted the damage was chargeable, despite referencing a guide that showed much worse damages as acceptable. After over a decade of loyalty, the lack of service transparency and fairness is deeply frustrating. I will not be using their services again and advise potential customers to be wary of their unfair charging practices and unhelpful customer service.
I would rather walk than rent a car at Sixt
Long story short: Stay away and do not rent a car here. They (wroclaw airport) scammed us for 4000 zlo for a damage that was already on the car. They did not help. They do not provide any documentation i asked for even though promised. They threaten (to pay with one day) and they keep lying. These people are criminals and I hope karma will get them. Please, just stay away from these criminal and scammers. They give polish people are VERY bad reputation.
Sixt Krakow airport rental
We are also experiencing some similar problems with sixt pl krakow airport. They claim 421eur compensation for damages on a mini countryman, which was in perfect condition when we dropped it off at the 5th floor. No one was available to come up to inspect the car when we dropped it, so now we are disputing this claims.

Usługi na wysokim poziomie: nowe auta, duża dostepność, łatwy proces rezerwacji. Niestety w dzisiejszych czasach jest już mnóstwo firm wynajmujących auta bez kaucji. Niejasne zasady pobierania z karty udziału mimo posiadanego ubezpieczenia skłoniły mnie do zmiany firmy z której korzystam po kilku latach współpracy

Samochód wypożyczony w Zadarze -Chorwacja-z karty ściągnęli dodatkowo 1200 PLN -Samochód był w całości ubezpieczony, kaucja dotyczyła zabezpieczenia w razie szkód komunikacyjnych.Czyli za tydzień wyszło 2000 płn przed sezonem .Przy zdaniu samochodu było wszystko ok, wchodzimy na drogę prawną.UNIKAJ, UNIKAJ, JESZCZE RAZ UNIKAJ TEJ FIRMY.
We were charged for damage but the car wasn't repaired!
We rented a car in Warsaw for several days and after a week were charged for the car damage although we didn't notice any damage. But when I started to ask for more information about the car repairing information, the customer service replied that the car hasn't been repaired yet (after almost two months).
So, maybe other customers were charged for this car damage as well!!!

Or pour une raison que j’ignore on me dit que les deux cartes étaient différentes et que cela vous oblige à me rembourser le pré paiement et me redebiter une somme plus inopérante du fait du change
C’est malhonnête car je n’ai qu’une carte et vous ne m’avez pas porté à ma connaissance la preuve de ce que vous dites
Bien que platinium et fidèle client depuis de nombreuses années je décide de faire maintenant confiance à Avis chez qui nous avons des meilleurs conditions
C’est de la malhonnêteté avérée

Pay some zl more for other companies, it's worth it
We rented a car to travel from Gdansk to Modlin airport. We got there at 4 a.m, their office was closed, we had to call their hotline and was told to put the car documents into the box in front of their office.
They then proceeded to charge us €50 for lost documents. When we complained, which means 20+ emails and phone calls later, they claimed that the paper is considered lost in their system so our complaint was invalid.
Ofc it's their system, they can put whatever they want in there. I told them to check the call history of their hotline because obviously they recorded it, but they just ignored my email.
We could do nothing in the end and ended up losing €50 and gaining a lot if stress. We never rent their car again after that.
