The Excalibur is a great Linux laptop – not just because of the Slimbook Linux button instead of a Windows button ;-) (although this is one of the details I love)...

I would have gone for five stars if it wasn't for the sometimes incomplete or not quite accurate documentation. But I understand that this can't be a number 1 priority, especially not for a small company.

Also, a few four-star reviews among all the five-star ones make the positive feedback look more realistic and convincing! :-)

I bought a Slimbook Excalibur. My experiences have been very positive. The performance is very good and the system (KDE neon) is stable. The screen has nice colors and a comfortable size for those with poor eyesight.
I was particularly surprised that Steam games ( with Proton ) also run smoothly.
Very nice case with the KDE logo. I also like the keyboard layout without the Windows logo on the super key.
I would also like to emphasize the very helpful customer service. Inquiries were always answered and good solutions were suggested.

A company that makes your experience with computers easier than others in the market.

Muy contento con el Slimbook PROAMD que compré hace ya casi dos años, lo uso 8 horas al día y va de lujo, ademas tenía una pega con la webcam y me ayudaron a solucionarlo muy rápido. Lo tengo claro, me encanta linux y me encanta slimbook

I'm delighted with my Slimbook One. It's small yet powerful, and it looks great on my desk. Furthermore, when I had a question, the customer service was super quick and friendly. Definitely a great buy for me!

The company is untrustworthy and deceitful.

Firstly, their website payment provider only allowed payment in Euros and tried to charge £133 exchange rate transaction fee. Slimbook's response was they are not responsible for the bank's charges. They are responsible for which provider they choose and £133 is not typical of all providers.

I paid with bank transfer to ship to the UK. They shipped me a laptop with Fedora and Windows. The Windows 11 was in Spanish. I had to complete installation in a language that I don't speak and change to English afterwards. Their excuse was a new technician who had just started. Within a couple of days Windows started to crash.

They incorrectly told me that if I return the goods to be fixed I will be charged import taxes again. This is false, the UK HMRC have a arrangement for returning goods for repair to EU countries to avoid double charging. It is unacceptable to avoid the responsibility to fix faulty goods.

Instead of fixing the goods, they sent me a YouTube video and a file to download to fix it myself. The link to the file they created did not exist or lead to a file.

They also threatened to deduct money for any damages to the equipment. Damages that a) do not exist on a computer I have had for a few days and b) for faulty goods that they sent out.

They did not respond to my email telling about their false claims about double charging import VAT. I have now had to resort to threatening debt collectors to get my money back.

Maybe if the computer had worked, I would be happy with what I received. This company clearly do not understand what it means to be in the wrong and do not understand what it is they have to do to fix THEIR error. I am the customer, I paid for the goods. I should not have to be the one to research shipping legislation, fix a faulty installation etc. I am currently £2k down and still using my old laptop.

What a disgrace and miserable excuse for a company. I can see from other bad reviews that they have had, they will attempt to make excuses below the review. I imagine that will be added below and will try to make them look better as if they had tried to help (they did, but extremely poor) and make me, the customer who has done nothing wrong, somehow look bad.

Atención estupenda en el servicio preventa, tanto en calidad técnica como de trato personal.
Volveré a comprar con ellos.

Para mí de las mejores marcas, llevo comprando desde que se lanzaron y fui comprobando la mejora año tras año. Pase del primer slimbook hace casi 8 años hasta el ultimo de este año, en todo este tiempo han pasado por mis manos prácticamente todos los modelos (ya sea para mí o para conocidos / amigos).
Antes utilizaba MSI o Asus y la diferencia es abismal.
Le quedan ciertos detalles a mejorar como que permitan el pago a plazos , por ejemplo con PayPal , klarna ayudaría a mejorar las ventas no todo el mundo puede soltar de golpe unos 1000€ por el portátil.
Y algo que se hecha en falta es poder grabar tu propio logo con laser en todos los modelos.

Very positive experience

Products are great, well built and up to date. I ordered a laptop which I needed in hurry because my old one died, I asked for rushed delivery and they were nice enough do it in less than 2 days! Great customer support.

Overall a disappointment
1. Mouse pad is not smooth for good UX
2. The mouse cannot always be enabled if disabled by double clicking the mouse pad
3. The delete button is close to the power button. Accidentally hitting the power button brings up the message to shut down the computer. Perhaps the message should pop up after pressing the button for 3 secs or so
4. The machine does struggle if having several firefox tabs open

Overall, a big disappointment for the price

I have a Slimbook Pro X 15 AMD that works flawlessly and has the best customer experience. I had a problem reinstalling an operating system and was guided through the process by two people. I am delighted.

Lo mejor en SAT que puedes encontrar, muy buena atención por un gran equipo de profesionales.

El Executive 14 del 2023 no está mal para uso diário. A ver la versión de este año que tal anda. Pinta muy bien el Executive 16 (2024).

Una lástima que el PRO X no esté disponible todavía.

Empezando por el equipo, impecable, muy buena calidad de construcción tanto al tacto como en tema puertos (se sienten solidos y de calidad) estéticamente muy bonito, precio bastante competitivo, valorando el servicio recibido fue bueno y la amabilidad hacia las preguntas realizadas fue inmejorable, muy buen soporte.

Soy una persona con baja visión, informática, trabajo en Linux, tengo un proyecto desarrollado con Ruby on Rails, los ordenadores son mi pasión.

Tras una reciente pérdida de visión, mi acceso a la información se ha visto seriamente comprometido. Me dijeron que mi única opción era utilizar Windows y quizás sólo por voz... hasta que un amigo me recomendó Slimbook.

Elegí un Executive de 16 pulgadas por sus prestaciones de pantalla. Lo pedí con Linux y Windows. Pensé que sería muy grande y pesado. Al recibirlo no podía creerlo, lo de ultraligero y ultracompacto es algo más que cierto. Es pequeño, ligero, silencioso y no se calienta. Esto último no es sencillo en un ordenador de alto rendimiento como este.

Hablé con el equipo de Slimbook para exponerles mis necesidades. Me ayudaron mucho y me configuraron Linux con opciones de accesibilidad. Su esfuerzo y la súper pantalla han hecho posible que pueda seguir trabajando en vista y en Linux.

En resumen, Slimbook ofrece ordenadores de muy altas prestaciones que son adecuados para casi cualquier uso que queráis darle. Además, cuenta con un gran equipo de profesionales al que podéis consultar vuestras dudas y exponer vuestras necesidades.

We have 20 different versions of the slimbook and for us is a really good notebook. The support is always happy to help you and they reply really fast.

This is the second laptop with Linux I have bought from them and I am very satisfied with the quality, finishes and after sales service.

I have 2 executives 14” two years old and the new 16”. The technical assistance it’s very helpful even with issues they are not supporting.
The performance of the two laptops is great and the weight it’s awesome.

Fue buena por varias razones:
1. Pude elegir la configuración que más me gustaba, se aclararon todas las dudas que había respecto al entorno gráfico y el equipo me fue entregado exactamente como lo quería.
2.El funcionamiento del equipo es excelente y estoy muy contento con la compra.
3. A esto hay que añadirle que la atención ante todas mis preguntas fue rápida y eficaz y me han respondido cuantas veces hizo falta, además de la amabilidad, que agradezco.
Es decir: yo aconsejaría sin dudar Slimbook a todo el que me pregunte y, además, no creo que vuelva a comprar un equipo en otro sitio.
