smeg retro kettle - less than 2 weeks old - lid has stopped working. Complete rubbish. Wish I had a 1950's kettle, it would work a lot better than this.

I had a new kitchen installed with smeg dishwasher installed also a smeg toaster and kettle…worst appliances ever, the toaster lasted just over a year, the kettle went not long after and the dishwasher lasted 6 years and the motor burnt out.
I’ve had cheap as chips replacements that have lasted longer…go figure!

Kettle paint bubbled after 2years and 9 months and refused replacement. Apparently spending this much money on an item that continually Bubbles (as seen in many reviews) is acceptable to Smeg ?. To have a proof of purchase, I do understand, and I have stated I am happy to do a stat dec to prove the approximate date of purchase should be acceptable. and manufacturing date of 2022 is clear from serial number. Is 2 years 9 months is acceptable before a product fails ? Do not spend the money on Smeg products as customer service is non-negotiable.

I would like to add that out of good will Smeg did replace my kettle and I am very grateful for this. I am hoping the bubbling will not hapen again.

Don’t buy a Smeg oven. If (when) the clock fails it bricks the oven and it will not turn on. Smeg ovens LOOK great, but unfortunately fail at the actual cooking business.

Don’t buy a Smeg oven. If you loose power (which in Australia you will sooner or later), the oven is disabled until you reset the clock. But after a few years the clock reset buttons fail, so any blackout will ‘brick’ your oven.
And no, the unofficial’hard reset’ option you can find on line only works about 20% of the time…

So I was gifted a smeg D&G kettle, it stayed in the box for some time and even after I took it out of the box I hardly used as I am a coffee drinker it was mainly on show as it match my toaster however even with little use the design/cast cracked in multiple place and in other area it peeled off so I contacted smeg and this is there response (bare in mind these kettles cost $799.00 at harvey normans) They wrote ''Under Australian Consumer Law (ACCC), proof of purchase is required to process warranty claims. While the issue appears to be external and not repairable, a replacement may be considered. However, based on the serial number, the kettle was manufactured in 2022 and falls outside our goodwill policy without proof of purchase''. I get it date wise however considering it was in the box for over a year then hardly used clearly they are selling a inferior product at an outrageous price ..I am not impressed I don’t think I will ever purchase any thing from Smeg ever again apparently I am not the only one who has issues with the Dolce & Gabbana smeg kettle

We got a SMEG Retro Hand Mixer, and the quality is superb. I'd recommend SMEG to anyone, they have a flawless reputation and it's well deserved

Worst Product I've ever bought and support worse
I can only tell you by my experience personally, I like other thought that a good brand and high price means good product. I was completely wrong. Glass fell out of door within the first 2 years. Element in Oven fell off on top of a cooking pork almost starting a fire. This oven was cleaned regularly and even got professional cleaners in periodically and they blamed this badly made product on the customer. Easy out choosing profit over safety of it's customers. Been months back and forth and still no resolution. Now I'm just being ghosted by their support completely.

Our DWAI 6214X dishwasher less than 5 yrs old recently had a couple of leaking alarms.

This dishwasher, gas cooktop and also SFA 6304X electric oven came as part of the kitchen appliance package in our brand new apartment settled in November 2018.

My wife was very happy with all these SMEG appliances particularly for their nice look and also slick operation.

However, about end of September our DWAI 6214X dishwasher had a first leaking alarm and also repeats every couple of days.

As this dishwasher is almost 5 yrs old we were not sure if it is wise to try usually expensive repair or rather consider replacing it?

From reading many reviews on the productreview.com.au we become quite skeptical because many negative opinions...
However, we were also willing to contact the SMEG service to allow them for their response.

Smeg NSW suggesting to send us a service technician from MASWA (Metropolitan Appliance Service) in Perth what we accepted.

Mr Dave from the MASWA replaced a lower sprayer arm of the dishwasher that was split within a couple of minutes what expanded life of our dishwasher. It was really the minor issue.
He also examined our oven and fixed a small problem with the grill element.

Based on our experience we know that small issues like ours may occur and could be easily fixed although we were scarred by many negative reviews.
However, now we are certain about the quality of the SMEG's appliances and also their service.
It seems that they can defend the expected 10 yrs life span for their products.
