South Farm Holiday Cottages and Fishery Avaliações 

We stayed at the farm for a week at the end of August. The house and lakes were lovely and well kept. The location and setting is superb and peaceful.

However our tranquility and break was short lived as we found the manger Justin to be a little ‘overbearing’. This ruined our stay and relaxation in honesty. This is not personal but hopefully constructive feedback. He is obviously a very passionate and proud of his site (and he should be as it’s lovely). Yet, we were left repeated notes with comments on, and all conversations and interactions over our first 3 days were him enforcing the rules of the site and what us or our kids had done wrong.

We totally understand that rules are there for a reason, yet these were not sent in advance to us at booking and/or we’re communicated inappropriately during our stay. For example, my kids were shouted at for using the pool at 9:50am but were told to leave as pool doesn’t open until 10am. There were no signs or notices of this at our private garden entrance. This is just one example there are several more over the course of our stay.

My wife and I were felt that all our actions as a family were being ‘watched’ and this wasn’t a nice feeling on holiday.

We would definitely return for the location and facilities but the welcome wasn’t what we expected which is such a shame.

Our forth time staying at south farm and it's always a pleasure the cottages are well equipped for all your needs, the fishing is always good and top quality fish and a lovely place to spend some time on the bank,the managers are helpful and at hand to make your stay remembell, and I'm sure we will be back,

South Farm has been a go to of ours for 10 years now and we very much look forward to visiting every summer. The new management team Justin and Pippa are amazing and nothing is to much trouble to help to make your stay the best. The complex has undergone some lovely improvements and look forward to seeing more next year. Keep up the good work :)

We had an amazing week at South farm, this was our sixth time and we are back in October. This time we had two cottages with 3 generations of the same family going.
The fishing was great, the grandchildren made good use of the pool and the play barn.
Justin is a great host and nothing is too much trouble he would do anything he could to make your stay enjoyable

This was a wonderful place to stay. We had a lovely time here and would love to come back again. We couldn’t fault the facilities, cottages or lakes. The fish were well looked after and grounds were lovely.

Our second stay this year at South Farm. There is nothing bad to say! Justin is a model example of anyone running a business in the UK.....Nothing is ever too much trouble.
The fishing is top-notch, the complex is beautiful, the tranquility is palpable and the overall atmosphere of South Farm is our idea of Heaven.

I personally feel that Justin the manager is one of the biggest appeals to South Farm….The place is stunning , but I don’t think I have been treated better….Could not do enough for you.

We spent 5 days at south farm in July. It’s a beautiful place, very nice accommodation with an excellent host. We went primarily for the fishing and weren’t disappointed…with plenty of species to catch..Justin ,the manager was welcoming, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. A truly dog friendly place as well which was lovely. Will be back!

Beautiful, peaceful countryside holiday cottages and fishery with first class amenities (sauna, swimming pool and jacuzzi) available to residents only. We caught perch, some lovely big roach, large bream, tench and carp. Both the fishery, the cottages and the whole site are very well maintained. Justin (the host) is very knowledgeable about the fishing spots. We called him the 'Fish Whisperer'. Without hesitation we would recommend staying here.

A Hidden Country Retreat – Pure Peace

Tucked away in the peaceful countryside, this place was an absolute gem. The natural surroundings added to the serenity — a perfect escape from the noise of everyday life. The outdoor pool offered a refreshing cool-down and spectacular views of Devon’s landscape. I, especially enjoyed the contrast between the cold shower, the jacuzzi, and the sauna — a revitalising cycle that left me feeling completely refreshed.
The whole experience felt warm, welcoming, and unhurried — just what you want from a country wellness spot.
Nothing was too much trouble for Justin, which only added to the relaxed atmosphere.
Can’t wait to return in the winter… ready to embrace the ice plunge challenge next time!

If you are seeking a slice of Heaven in Devon, you really could not be better than this. Fantastic little gem. It's the kind of place you would visit once, and then you might never go anywhere else again, thanks to the peace, tranquility, and beauty of the venue.

The team have worked hard to landscape the local environment and to encourage wildflowers and wildlife, and there's also a delightful peacock walking around!

The fishing lakes are exceptionally beautiful and well manicured, but you could stay at this destination even if you weren't into fishing. It's got so much to offer + it's peaceful and calm and tranquil. You're only a short drive away from Exeter or Honiton if you want some culture, swanky restaurants, and a little bit of nightlife or shopping. There are at least two or three old castles which you can visit within less than an hour's drive and it's only a short hop down to Salterton and some of the other beautiful South Coast beaches. But honestly you could arrive at this venue and spend time on site without leaving, and have a magnificent holiday just enjoying the well-kept hot tub and sauna, there's an outdoor pool with the most astonishing views of the countryside which is solar powered for heating and there are some amazing walks right on your doorstep. Or I think you could have a very beautiful afternoon sitting by one of the fishing lakes. Simply fishing or reading a book or possibly just falling asleep.

A wonderful return visit!

Fishing was excellent, with great stock and a wide variety of species across three well-maintained lakes.

Beautiful site, with peaceful, tree-lined lakes, full of bird life. We loved hearing birdsong and spotting ducklings on the lakes each morning.

Daily swims in the outdoor pool, overlooking lamb-filled fields, were a real treat. The cosy, well-equipped cottage made for a perfect base, with Honiton and Taunton nearby for supplies.

Big thanks to Justin, the friendly and hardworking manager – his improvements since last year have really enhanced the experience.

We’ll be back again soon!

Southfarm is a peaceful and serene place. We stayed at Stables Cottage, which had such a wonderful view, the sunset and sunrise were breathtaking. There was lots to do, my daughter loved the pool (which was clean but freezing), Bella the cat, and the playbarn. My family enjoyed the long walks and exploring the area. Thank you, Justin, for being so welcoming and kind. We will definitely stay here again.

We arrived and were welcomed by Justin who was a man of many talents and so invaluable in his knowledge of the site. The accommodation was beautiful and we entered an airy, fresh cottage with some beautiful homely touches. Everything you could need for your stay was at your disposal. The serenity, the fishing and amenities were faultless. From fishing, walking, play, wildlife and relaxing either by or in the pool, sauna or hot tub. We came with our granddaughter and she has had the best time and the husband has had the best fishing experience. There is an easy lake for the beginners and home lake was a little more of a challenge for the more experienced. The top lake although smaller was also a joy all with the expected wildlife. We shall be coming back. A fantastic place, well maintained and very well managed. Fabulous!

We recently spent a week at Southfarm with our family, (15 of us!) plus 3 dogs. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. They made sure our accommodation was perfect and helped us with all our requests and queries both before we arrived and during our stay. The facilities there are excellent. There is a play barn which the grandchildren loved. The fishing lakes were well used by most of us, ages 67 down to 5 years old. Lots of large fish caught. The pool and hot tub were an added bonus. There are plenty of walks around the surrounding area. It was so peaceful, and the facilities were excellent which we all appreciated. Our hosts are still working hard improving an already lovely site.

Just had 4 days our second visit stayed in Lake Cottage and its home from home got everything you want with a view of Home Lake and if your into fishing its got everything big carp tench bream and some big roach , 3 lakes in total so plenty of room and if it's peace and tranquility you you get that as well, your host Justin you can't go wrong , top host , back in June for a week

Just returned from another great stay at south farm. A warm welcome from Justin on arrival, he was there for whatever we needed throughout the week.The fishing was brilliant plenty of carp out of ram lake and an added bonus of beautiful weather. Couldn’t ask for more. Thank you Justin, we will be back soon.

Party of 10 friends staying at the Farmhouse. Beautiful location, and immaculately clean house. Justin was so kind leaving balloons chocolate and fizz to help us celebrate a big birthday.

We enjoyed the time relaxing in such a beautiful place and will be returning.

A Superb Weekend Away at South Farm

I had the most wonderful weekend at South Farm to celebrate my 50th birthday, and it truly exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, the thoughtful finishing touches—biscuits, balloons, flowers, and chocolates—made it feel so special and personal.

The setting itself is absolutely beautiful, with stunning surroundings and plenty to explore. Whether you’re looking to relax or take in the picturesque scenery, South Farm has everything you could possibly need for a perfect getaway.

A special mention to Justin, who was incredibly helpful and kind throughout our stay, making sure everything was just right. His warm hospitality added to the overall experience, making it even more memorable.

I couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate such a milestone, and I’d highly recommend South Farm to anyone looking for a magical escape. I’ll definitely be back!
