I have had glasses since I was a child, so I have purchased many glasses over my lifetime. Yesterday I went to Specsavers in Truro ,Nova Scotia,and the experience was one of the best I have ever had. Jessica took care of me. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. I always have difficulty selecting glasses but she was so helpful. I am very pleased with my choices. The cost is amazing and the atmosphere in the store was so relaxing. I will definitely recommend Specsavers to all my friends and want to give a big shout out to Jessica for all her help and to Preet who was also wonderful.

They charge $137.50 for transition lenses for 2 pairs of glasses. If you only buy 1 pair they charge $137.50 for each lens or $275.00. similarly, they charge $60 for 2 pair of glasses with light reactive. For one pair of glasses with light reactive lenses they charge $60 per lens or $120. For extra thin lens they charge $60 for 2 pair and $120 with one pair of glasses. No where in their brochure does it state the charges are on a per lens basis, nor, do they tell you. Total cost for 1 pair of $99 frame glasses = $645.00. Way more expensive than anywhere else. Have the receipt to prove it. False Advertising!

Consistently fall short of customer service standard. They just refuse to learn from earlier customer feedback. The company simply does not believe in training their sales and customer facing staff in simple but critical aspects such as empathy, respect, courtesy. No wonder they have such abysmal ratings. Funnily when I did mention that I will bring this in public domain as a review/feedback, the local franchisee/business head did not bother to respond to my email. Either too big for their shoes or have completely given up trying. Either way, avoid Specsavers (Durham - Oshawa/Whitby) like a plague.

Specsavers Kenaston provided extremely poor customer service. They did not tell me that my insurance claim didn’t go through, and instead charged my card without informing me. When I asked about it, they told me it was my responsibility to check—something they should have clearly communicated before processing any payment. This lack of honesty and accountability is unacceptable. I will not be returning to this location.

I went to Specsavers to get new glasses. As soon as I started wearing them, I experienced headaches and blurry vision. When I went back to explain the problem, instead of trying to understand or help, the retail associate told me, "You don't have to look up, just use them for reading."

To try to fix the issue, she asked me to bring in my old glasses so they could compare them with the new ones and figure out what was wrong.

I hope they will resolve the issue because, as they are now, these glasses are unusable for me.

Two years ago I had my first exam at specsavers. I bought new glasses & sun glasses. Both have had to be tightened more than 6 times, the quality is just not there. I’ve often purchased inline glasses that never needed any adjustment. The issue is the following year I was never able to book a follow up appointment with this optical store. There is never any appointments available. This has totally destroyed the brand. So unreliable!

They have a Lens prescription width upsell charge. The wider the site of vision the more they charge you. Before this I used Zenni online and there were not these restrictions or upselling. I will go back to Zenni.

If I could give negative 5stars, I would. I did eye exam, she said I needed progressives and my eyes were healthy otherwise. The salesman then sold me two glasses, both with anti glare etc bc he said it was promo, n one polarized I asked for driving, for $400. Three days later, I found online an offer for two progressives for$300. I called to ask, wth, and was told it was too late to change order so I said just cancel it then. He scrambled and said he’d like me to try the original order first but no matter what,, they’d make it right. I’m paraphrasing bc it was 47 min call.
Then I dug deeper and found I wasn’t given the choice of high end lenses that give you more peripheral view and would’ve only cost extra $56. I’m pro driver, ehich he knew bc I chose polarized FOR driving. I called back 5 days after visit to say, wth, again. The owner, John, said he’d make it right.
I booked eye exam with competitor and found out I have an eye infection, which needs RX drops. I asked if it could’ve just been missed. “only if optometrist was blind in one eye n can’t see out of the other”. It’s a common thing n easy to diagnose. I went directly to SpecSavers and asked for total refund. Salesman was rude, but three saleswomen were
Kind and complimentary. Perhaps they also thought salesman was dictator, minus the tater. I was told I’d get refund.

Front staff helpful and friendly but optician curt and rushed. Waited half hour after designated appointment time for 10 minute eye test. Told optician I wanted everyday glasses especially for driving, when I went to pick up glasses they were so strong that they made everything a blur. I was told they were only for reading. I said that's not what I wanted but was not offered an alternative. I left with out the glasses, and $189 poorer. Avoid!

The service was incredible. Both Marvelous Marvin and Kazza were so helpful . I ended up getting 3 pairs of sunglasses as the deal was too good to pass up. Great experience 😃

I lost a pair of prescription glasses while on vacation in may of 2024. I went with my original prescription to specsavers. I paid for two pairs of glasses. I just found out that the prescription was not followed and they had used composite lenses. I have been experiencing headaches and blurred vision from these glasses. I have since had my glasses replaced at my regular optician. I do not recommend this company. Not very forthcoming with information.

Good experience all around, very professional and comfortable. I got new glasses and the prescription seems perfect.

After five visits trying to get my vision problems resolved with my new glasses at Tecumseh Mall in Windsor Ontario, I never received a satisfactory answer. They just kept delaying me and kept making new appointments week after week. They told me they would call me, but they never did. Extremely poor service very bad customer service
We have paid to get done lenses at Fairview mall north York Toronto. Promised will be ready in 2 weeks by the employee Rida. Today after 19 days when I visited Parisa a very cruel unprofessional woman said it’s not ready and will take around 4 weeks. When I expressed her our dissatisfaction and never have placed the order if we knew it would take 4 weeks. I’m very disappointed the way she expressed herself without understanding customer situation. These kind of employees are definitely demoting your company name.
