Excellent service brought us back to Spring….
This is the second time I have approached Spring to see how they could help me sell a house. The first time was a success as it enabled us to buy the house we intend to spend the rest of our lives in - a home we would have missed out on without Spring. This time I am responsible for selling my mother’s house, we are not going ahead with Spring simply because we have found a private buyer linked to our family who is in a position to move as quickly as Spring. However, Spring’s helpfulness, customer service and speed made it a difficult decision despite the family connections and if anything goes wrong we will definitely be going back to Rebecca and her team to sell the house.

The experience was very professional, friendly and fast. Amanda-Jayne Miller was our main contact, and she was excellent. An overall super experience, with great timely communication throughout. The process was a little more than 6 weeks which is without doubt 50% faster than average conveyance we experience currently and would have no doubt in recommending Spring. We decided to go down the part exchange…
We decided to go down the part exchange route to save all the stress of selling our house privately and having the chance of a chain breaking down.
We were recommended to Spring by Shore field.
We had the most excellent service.
Lewis rang us within 4 days of us deciding to do part exchange.
He organised the estate agents who came in the first week.
The valuations were done and Lewis came back to us three days after the valuations with an offer.
Lewis then arranged a survey for our property and after that we accepted their offer and the whole process only took four weeks.
So the service was fantastic and we would highly recommend Spring if you are thinking of going part exchange.
They take all the stress away from moving and are extremely helpful in every way and gave us excellent service throughout.
Thank you Lewis for helping us through this process and thank you to all the staff who helped too.

Overall moderately satisfied
Overall, we felt we had an adequate experience. We were satisfied with the offer made. Using a part exchange process probably did help speed up the sale of our elderly mother’s home due to its type and location - from the acceptance of the offer to completion it took about 4 1/2 months - and it did reduce some of the potential stress for her (for example, lots of viewings, being stuck in a chain). However, we did feel somewhat mislead by Spring and the marketing hype which implies it’s easy and quick to sell and buy using their service. It’s still not straightforward! All the usual associated legal work needs to be done, which is time consuming and can be frustrating and overwhelming, especially for an older person, for example, if documents are lost or have to be ordered. A lasting power of attorney is absolutely vital if you are helping an elderly relative move (note this takes up to 3 months to put in place, if required). Fortunately, we had an excellent solicitor who was used to dealing with our client group. But it is something to be aware of, moving is a complex process whatever the blurb says! One gripe we had was the automated greeting when phoning the Spring office which says ‘a completion date to suit’ - in the end, we had 2 completion dates promised that didn’t happen due to what appeared to be slowness on Springmoves side, creating a lot of uncertainly for us as a family. Arranging the drop off of keys to the local estate agent on behalf of Spring once the sale had gone through also didn’t go to plan - I was assured they had been informed and I was expected but they didn’t know anything about it! However, our mother is now happy in her new flat so it has been worthwhile in the end.

You’re right that moving, especially with legal work, a management company and Power of Attorney, can still be complex. From handover in February to completion in May, it took just under three months, which we feel is relatively efficient given the circumstances and type of onward property.
We’re sorry you felt misled about speed and ease, and we’ll continue to improve how we set expectations as we appreciate how frustrating uncertainty can be. We strive to complete all sales as quickly as possible; however, unexpected delays beyond our control can occur. We had provisionally agreed on an earlier date, but final legal replies from the management company were only received shortly beforehand, and these required review by solicitors before funds could be released. We did speak on the phone at the time to explain the situation, and we’re very grateful for your understanding, but we do recognise that this still caused disruption for you and your family.
We’d also like to apologise for the confusion around the key handover and for the communication not being as smooth as it should have been at that stage.
Once again, thank you for taking the time to leave a review and for acknowledging the positives of our service. And, most importantly, we’re delighted to hear your mother is now happily settled in her new home. We wish her all the very best for the future.
