My exchange year with STS was amazing. I'm from Austria and went to the USA in 2021-22. The coordinators in Austria as well as in America were always supportive - not only before, but also during and after my journey. They helped with the whole application, VISA, questions I had, cancelled flights, any problems and everything else on the way. My host family was perfect, because we had similar interests and they really treated me like their own kid. My school was very welcoming and gave me the opportunity to try out EVERYTHING, no matter if I was good at it or not.

From my experience, STS is perfectly organized and they really focus on every exchange student individually! There are many different programs and extras you can choose from and the prices are fitting for the services they offer and the work they do.

STS is very reliable and I highly recommend this organization for exchange journeys.

I had an exchange year with STS and it’s the best experience I’ve ever had. The friends I got to know and also the culture I got to know was amazing.
I could recommend doing an exchange year with STS cause they listen to all your request and find the right fit your you.

Today its Thanksgiving.
I just received a phonecall from my hostparents as I usually do on holidays or special occasions. We have a strong bond and I really feel lucky having them. I often think about them and how much my year in Atlanta Georgia changed and affected my life.
We have kept contact and met many times over the years. My kids have american "cousins" for life.
We always keep reminding each other how lucky we are that we got the opportunity to meet through the exchange program back in 1983. Just unbelievable. Thank you STS education!

Danke - mein Englisch ist sehr schlecht - daher schreibe ich auf Deutsch😀 - ich möchte mich sehr herzlich bedanken - ihr habt das sehr gut gemacht! Meine Tochter war ein halbes Jahr in Holland , lg an euch - und Danke war alles super organisiert

Die Erwartungen, die wir an STS hatten wurden nicht erfüllt, die Ankündigungen von STS nicht eingehalten, es war keine konstruktive Partnerschaft mit der Organisation vorhanden.
Das einzige positive war, das der Auslandsaufenthalt überhaupt stattgefunden hat.
Wir würden STS nicht empfehlen.

Do not go to Canada with this Organisation! A week before leaving, our daughter still didn’t have a host family, 3 days before we finally got the name and address of her permanent host family, or so we thought, on the day of arrival our daughter was told in the car from the airport, this is not going to be your final host family after all. The family turned out to be in an area that wasn’t safe, the mother was too busy with her 3 kids, former husband and her boyfriend ( who lived there, but was not listed) and there was no food to take to school,… ah yes school, our daughter and other exchange students from Austria went to school after a week and got told to immediately leave the school as they were not enrolled, imagine being 16 and in that situation, and a parent paying a lot of money to prevent something like this from happening. A few days later they were allowed in, only of course all these nice subjects offered on the website were full or not available to exchange students, 3 weeks on my daughter was followed by a strange man from the bus, no immediate support from the local contact. No change of host families, by then we were giving up and ready to have our daughter come back home. Within a week another permanent host family was suddenly found. It was a very nice older lady. Family sorted after 3-4 weeks, school proved to be ok, apart from the fact that of all the excursions etc that were promised only one took place. A day skiing. And Nothing else was organized by the person at the school cooperating with Sts. Maybe we should have known at the start when the promised welcome week in New York wasn’t taking place and no family was found until late. Unfortunately so late in the process you can’t really change the company. Our daughter has definitely had an experience and all in all, when your child arrives back home in one piece, a semester abroad is always beneficial. However, considering the money we spent and the promises (website, brochures) that were made by STS and not fulfilled, all the problems encountered by my daughter and the lack of support, I would never, ever recommend this organization to a parent who wants to send their child abroad.

Thanks to STS I had the best year of my life in Argentina. Even though it’s a big investment, I would say it’s worth every penny. Thank you so much for changing me, my life and my future for the better :)

I went on a high school exchange to the US a couple years ago with STS, and it was one of the best years of my life!

STS was very helpful through the entire process, I had an amazing host family that I am really close to to this day, and I have been back in the US to visit friends and family many many times.

I feel so lucky to have been on an high school exchange in the US, it was truly a life changing experience. I am so happy I decided to go!

If you are thinking of going on an exchange, I highly reccomend choosing STS. You won't regret it!

I spent one year as an high school exchange student in Mississippi and had a fantastic time.

The reason I chose to go with STS was their flexibility in finding a good host family, as well as their support both before departure and whilst in the US.

I only had good experiences dealing with STS and can highly recommend them to anyone thinking about doing an exchange year!

The organization of STS Education was perfect. They have nice coordinators and if there are any problems, they deal with them and try to make your exchange year the best time in your life. I will remember this experience for the rest of my life and I hope you will do as well. Thank you for this!

STS Education was so very accommodating with my American exchange experience.They managed to match me with a host family whom I will stay forever friends with, already been back to visit in Kansas 5 times. The year abroad had an incredible influence on me and I haven’t been home since. Sorry mom and dad (and thanks!😉)

Went to Sweden in 21/22 with STS and had the best experience ever! STS have made it a super comfortable exchange and were always there to help me if needed. I have a second home now, friends for life and made the best memories. I highly recommend them to anyone wanting to go on an exchange year!

They helped me since the beginning and when I had questions or doubts they have been very nice and helpful.🤗
STS found the perfect host family match for me and helped me throughout the whole experience.
If you are thinking of doing an exchange year I suggest you to do it with STS because you will not regret it!🫶

Devo ringraziare lo staff di STS. Mio figlio Lorenzo è partito l'8 di Agosto per il campus a NY e poi a Valparaiso in Indiana. Sta vivendo un sogno, assegnato ad una famiglia meravigliosa sta frequentando la high school con profitti eccellenti, ha iniziato gli allenamenti di basket ed è stato scelto per la prima squadra della scuola....un sogno che sta prendendo forma grazie al lavoro dei professionisti di STS che hanno valutato selezionato e supportato Lorenzo la sua famiglia e quella ospitante scegliendo per lui una famiglia Americana meravigliosa che lo ha accolto come 4^ figlio.
Lorenzo è così a sua agio che sta frequentando, oltre alla scuola, un corso di formazione per acquisire crediti per il college e tutto grazie alla combinazione ottimale fatta da STS a misura di Lorenzo. Se ci saranno difficoltà siamo sicuri che avremo tutto il supporto necessario per affrontarle grazie anche alla Tutor presente sul posto molto attenta che ci ha già inviato due report mensili su come Lorenzo e la famiglia stanno vivendo l'esperienza. Non ringrazieremo mai abbastanza STS e la famiglia ospitante per questo anno che rappresenta un importante momento per il futuro di Lorenzo.

I´m so thankful for the experience of a lifetime that STS Education helped me to get 20 years ago! That they have worked with exchange since 1958 made me and my parents chosing them.

Dear STS,
Our daughter has been in the USA since August and is very happy there. Unfortunately, the road here was very rocky. You as an organization receive a lot of money for placing the children with good host families. Planning for this begins a year in advance. Unfortunately, we didn't know where we were going or whether it would even work until a week before departure. NY was only taken for a short time. The host family is great, but here too, problems that exist within the family and could have a negative impact on our child should be clarified in advance. A subsequent charge of €1000 for a placement without notice or an additional contract is not legal. I find your price transparency very questionable anyway. There is a friendly and competent employee B.Aksoy - but he is also not allowed to make any decisions. There is still a lot to improve, if they don't have enough places available, then they won't accept as many applicants. The disappointment for these young people is so powerful!

I went on exchange with STS and had the most amazing experience. The office in the Netherlands consists of just a few people, which gave them the opportunity to know all the students of that year by name (including our parents and program) and it felt great to have them be so involved. As well as in preparation for the exchange, as during and afterwards. The staff have their own personal experiences with going on exchange or having a kid that went on exchange, and you can tell they all do this from a place of passion.

Years ago I went on exchange with STS Education to the USA. And I'm still thankful that I did! It was an amazing year which has left me with life long friends, beautiful memories and a second family that still treats me like their daughter. Through all of this, the communication, guidance and the follow up from STS has been great. No regrets at all.

I went to Denmark in 2019 with STS and had one of the best semesters of my life.
I had great support from start to end and always felt taken care of. My host family was perfectly matched and I still go visit them every year.
STS is not too big of an organization, but I think that’s exactly their charm, everything feels more personal and catered to your needs.
Be careful with following the rules tho as they tend to be strict with that.

L'anno all'estero con STS è stato per me una grande opportunità per conoscere meglio me stessa, per essere immersa in una cultura diversa dalla mia di appartenenza e per approfondire la conoscenza di un'altra lingua. Durante l'esperienza mi sono sempre sentita supportata dalla mia famiglia, dagli amici ma anche dal team di STS in Italia e negli Stati Uniti.
