I bought an Empulse Wheeldrive and I’m appalled at the poor design. The drive rims are located by small plastic tabs which break off if you lift the wheel by the drive rims, the are no warning labels stating do not lift by these rims and your average baggage handler will not have read the instruction book, twice I’ve taken these on holiday and twice they have been damaged. Each time they have to be sent back to the Netherlands for repair costing £450 each time. As a Mechanical Engineer I’m able to see the poor quality of the design and I’m unable to recommend any Sunrise Medical products to anyone!

I bought an Empulse f55 just at the time they changed the model for a different battery set up and it took 5 months to get a working unit despite having paid in full up front. After less than 150k the battery has failed and I am being told by the dealer that sunrise want the whole thing shipped back to Germany! I have spent nearly 3k and so far have had very little to show for it. The dealership say that the problem is sunrise. If this is the case then I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere for mobility equipment.- I have supplied my contact details to Sunrise UK directly and am currently waiting for some response. I bought the Empulse as I already had one that I bought several years ago and runs like a dream,...........

I contacted Sunrise Medical UK last month to find out about a new product so I could choose a wheelchair for my son. When I received my mobile phone bill I was charged £21 for the 2 calls I made as it turns out to be a premium number (0845 6056688). I think this is disgraceful that a company selling their products to disabled customers is doing the above. I was kept waiting whilst they made enquiries and no one mentioned it was a premium rate call.

Nitrum Nightmare
I have a new quickie nitrum and it does nothing but go to the right. Even the dealer I got it from cannot figure out what the issue is so somebody from Sunrise Medical is going to have a look at it. I used to have a Quickie Helium and that was a fantastic chair but unfortunately it got to the end of its life. I have found that the quickie nitrum is not made as well as the helium. I have been a wheelchair user all of my life and I have never had issues apart from with this Nitrum. I would never have brought this as it is not a good chair in my eyes. Bring the Quickie Helium back any day!

A few small issues, but really helpful customer services
When I got my Quickie Q50R Carbon wheelchair, unfortunately, the battery clip snapped off within the first three days. The retailer I bought it from tried to contact Sunrise Medical and found things a little slow, but that's the way things can be sometimes with warranty claims. Anyway, today I called them and spoke with their Customer Services Manager and he was so super helpful. He completely reassured me and put my mind at rest that the battery would arrive once the claim had been expedited by him. Really helpful chap.

My wheelchair was purchased through NRS HEALTH CARE, Quickie Q30, it was defective when it was delivered September 2024, the right arm was wobbly and the rep said he would order a new arm and fit it as soon as it arrived but he never got back in touch so I had to call numerous times and finally another person got back to me and said he would get it sorted for me but again nothing happened and after numerous attempts I finally got in touch with him and again he said he would sort it but when he finally came he had ordered the left arm instead of the right so he fitted an arm off another chair he had on his van which was the wrong model so it’s even more wobbly than it was, he said he would reorder and be in touch when it came but I never heard anything else and from him, I finally got in touch with another rep who said he would sort it but it still hasn’t been fixed so I contacted sunrise medical who supplied my chair last week and the customer service said she would ring me back after speaking to the rep but still nothing, this chair cost me over 8000 and I’ve never used it yet, I’m disabled and have been stuck in the house for over a year now because I can’t afford to pay for another power chair, poor poor way to treat customers I would not recommend buying anything from this company. I will be getting in touch with trading standards

Having a lightweight wheelchair made to suit your exact needs — with a fantastic choice of colours — is absolutely fabulous. The build quality is excellent, the comfort is unmatched, and the customisation options make such a difference to everyday life. Customer service has been brilliant from start to finish, and the whole experience has been genuinely empowering. I cannot recommend them enough!

The day was good overall
The day was good overall, a lot of interesting information and very useful. I did feel there was quite a lot of sitting and listening to presentations which can be quite difficult especially when the chairs are uncomfortable and the room was so dark (not sunrise fault) Would maybe benefit from some more interactive elements or some more opportunities to move around

Quickie Argon 2 in Desert Sage
My wheelchair was purchased from Invictus Active - was shipped by Sunrise within 3 weeks - arrived today, super fast. Chair is immaculate, I’m so amazed. It’s my first own wheelchair and I am obsessed with it. Pushing is a breeze, and I’m not strong. Even my partner complimented how easy it is to push. 5 stars honestly.

Ride moulded chair - Sunrise - Taylor made Wheelchairs Midlands.
Our son Tom has been wheelchair bound all his life and our good friends Chris and Emma from Taylor made wheelchairs suggested he got Faith to come and see him re a Ride moulded seating system that would fit to the shape of his body. Both Faith and Chris turned up in August and set the ball rolling, right away you could see how the technology was going to help Tom sit up straight, but we had no idea just how good the finished article was going to look. The big day came (not many weeks to get the unit made and brought over from the states) once again Faith and Chris turned out and added the mold to his existing Q500 and within a couple of hours the transformation was complete, we have never seen Tom sit up so straight (he’s a PS5 gamer and the test was how well he would play) the result fantastic, feeding time at the table was so much easier, and Tom is over the moon and can’t thank you all enough. So a special thanks to Simon at Sunrise for helping Chris make it happen, and to Faith (what an inspiration) you were so good with Tom and you certainly are the best that we have seen in 32 years! So the conclusion, get Chris in from Taylor made wheelchairs (Wall Heath Midlands) to arrange a fitting with Faith - Ride - Sunrise, you won’t be disappoint
