The booking process and communication…
The booking process and communication was excellent. Prices competitive. The quality of the accommodation was as expected. The mechanical maintenance on the vehicle seemed to be excellent. The itinerary gave us the time required to see all the animals. The driver tended to hang back, especially at the river crossings and lacked communication, but did his best to get us to all the sightings.

Largest Arusha based fleet for safari
Tanzania Specialist have the largest safari jeeps or the fleet in that area & based prominently in the Arusha city. So, no chance of any disruption. They have full proof backups.
Their payment system from EU/Netherlands via Rabo Bank is a bit dubious. I landed up paying so much hidden extra charges. I booked so many other hotels & tours via Expedia etc & did not pay any extra or hidden charges during my long tour.
I booked a 5 day safari from 2nd Sept to 6th Sept 2026. But actually, there isn't anything or safari at the last day. It is just picking you up from the last hotel in the morning & dropping you at Arusha or nearby which could have been done the previous afternoon.
So, for a 4 day safari I paid over $2000 or $500 per day. This is a bit expensive I suppose!
The food & accommodations were ok. The jeep & the guide/driver was ok.

We’re sorry that the additional bank charge left you feeling that there were hidden costs. To clarify, the additional amount was related to bank charges that were not covered in the initial payment, meaning the amount received by us was lower than the invoiced amount. We normally advise all our guests that bank charges are to be covered by the customer and their bank.
Regarding the itinerary, this was a group joining safari, where the route and schedule are fixed and cannot be customised in the same way as a private safari. The package price covered the agreed itinerary, including accommodation, transportation, park fees, guide services, and other operational costs. The safari included visits to the Serengeti, Tarangire, and Ngorongoro.
We apologize and appreciate your understanding.

Lifetime Memory
My wife and I booked our once in a lifetime trip with Tanzania Specialist. We started with a hike to Kilimanjaro, we had the best team on the mountain. The service that was provided in very difficult environments was to the highest possible standard. The equipment was phenomenal. The food was fantastic. The moral support was incredible and the expertise and attention to safety was second to none. Afterwards, my wife and I went on a seven day Safari through a number of national parks as well as to watch the great migration. Everything was extremely well organized. I wished the driver and guide would provide more information about the animals, but our guide did when we asked questions and we had a great experience.

Amazing safari trip
Booking the trip was easy & Joseline was in contact till we started our journey.
Lodges, & hotels were exceptional even though we chose mid range some were luxurious!!
Delicious dinners & packed lunches were great.
Our guide Remi Obedi Mollel was superb. We had a great time with him almost like a family member. He was so friendly, absolutely a safe driver, passionate about his job as a guide and helpful. We never felt rushed during any of the outings.
He made sure we got to see the famous crossings not once but 4 times which was a high light.
We would definitely recommend Remi to all our friends.

The best travel experience we had
The best travel experience we had. Alice helped us organize the trip and did an exceptional job. Simon our driver was the best, he took absolute care of us especially our aged parents who travelled with us. His driving skills , his understanding of animal behavior and his absolute commitment to care nature helped us see some rare sightings. Thank you Alice, Simon for making our trip most wonderful one. Amazing Safari Experience!
We had a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The company was very professional and reliable, everything was always on time, and the entire trip went smoothly without any issues. The locations and accommodations they arranged for us were amazing, and the overall itinerary was very well organized.
Our guide, Karim, was fantastic! He was kind, punctual, attentive, and always willing to help. He also shared so much interesting information throughout the safari, which made the experience even more special.
The only thing I would suggest improving is the comfort of the safari vehicle. Since the distances between locations can be very long and the roads quite rough, a vehicle with better suspension would have made those long drives much more comfortable. Our vehicle felt particularly stiff at times.
Other than that, everything was great. We felt well taken care of throughout the entire trip and had an unforgettable experience. Tanzania and the safari were absolutely incredible, and I would definitely recommend this company!

Incredibly well organised operation but just missed 5 stars
Incredibly well organised operation, everything flowed beautifully. Our safari guide, Eckbel, was sensational. We always felt safe and Eckbel knew the answer to every question we asked. The safari cruiser was comfortable and roomy. The accommodations were all beautiful, however the service as Sounds of Serengeti seemed a bit chaotic/disorganised (like they were understaffed or inexperienced).
The only reason we haven't given 5 stars is because we feel that Tanzania Specialist oversells how special they make Honeymooners stays on their website. We specifically decided to book with TS due to the promise of making Honeymooners feel special. However, we received no recognition from TS that it was our Honeymoon except just a note on the top of our itinerary. The first 3 hotels we stayed at also made no recognition which we found a little more disappointing when we discovered TS owns 2 of those 3. Once we moved over to Zanzibar to privately owned hotels we did receive those little touches to make our Honeymoon feel special, but we feel that TS put in no effort whatsoever.
We wouldn't let that stop us recommending TS to others looking to book a standard trip just maybe not a Honeymoon.

We are, however, genuinely sorry to hear that the honeymoon aspect of your trip left you feeling that we had not made enough effort. We completely understand why this was disappointing, especially as you chose Tanzania Specialist with the expectation that your honeymoon would receive special attention.
We would like to clarify one point regarding the accommodations. While we work very closely with our hotel partners and regularly recommend and book them based on the consistently positive feedback we receive from our guests, this does not mean that these hotels are owned by Tanzania Specialist. Of all the hotels you stayed at, only one is owned by our sister company; the others are independent accommodation partners that we have selected among our preferred suppliers because of their quality and guest feedback.
We also want to clarify that the special honeymoon arrangements you received in Zanzibar were not simply something arranged independently by the hotel. As part of our pre-trip arrangements, we specifically contacted the Zanzibar property and requested that they prepare special touches for your honeymoon. We are therefore glad that these gestures were provided, although we are sorry that the earlier parts of your journey did not create the same feeling of recognition.
Your feedback is valuable to us because it highlights that arranging special honeymoon touches is not only about making the request to our partners, but also about ensuring that the overall experience feels consistently personal to the couple throughout the journey. We will take this feedback seriously.

Our guide made our experience the best. Eben was incredible. Truly. He was top notch, and exceeded every expectation we had.
The planning portion with Jescka was also great. She was lovely, and it was good. The app was nice, and I was happy up until the time we got there, but once we got there, our experiences with Kelvin on day one and the last day, and the Eben during our trip was was took this to a 5 star rating. Our accommodations were amazing (except one), the food, the safari experiences. . . . excellent.

My safari and trip to Zanzibar with Tanzania Specislist
My safari and trip to Zanzibar organised by Tanzania Specialist was outstanding .
The trip was extremely well organised, taking into account what we want to see and experience . There was a lot of communication with the team in Arusha , before we left for Tanzania.
Once in Tanzania we were given contact details of an agent in Arusha and Zanzibar. But this wasn’t needed as our guide Yasin what absolutely awesome .
We saw the big five on numerous occasions , but also the ugly 5.
Yasin seemed to really understand where to find even the most difficult animals to see. And to end a memorable and fantastic week we witnessed 2 Mara river crossings. The first crossing was huge- a real tv moment . But this was down to Yasin, he seemed to understand exactly where to look and wait for the wilderbeast . And our patience paid off .
The hotels, tented camps were all excellent . Special mention however for The Best View hotel, the sound of silence camp and the queens hotel in Zanzibar .
To finish I just need to say that the people in Tanzania and Zanzibar are the happiest group of people I have ever met.

The safari experience and Hot Air Ballon ride were memorable?
The safari experience was great. We had chance to see animals crossing Mara river 2 times, Big 5 plus cheetah, zebra, wildebeest and others. Big thanks to the driver who was professional, knowledgeable and pleasant. The hot air ballon ride was amazing and we enjoyed very much. Except that I was frustrated by the booking process. I came across two consultants. The former one was prompt in response and helpful. Instead, the latter one was late in response and provided confused pricing information. For hotel booking of an additional member, it took three weeks after request and provided 3 separate quotations even though the first one was accepted immediately. For the optional tour pricing, the latter consultant repeatedly confirmed the price I mentioned but eventually it was not correct. For the lodges we stayed, the Sound of Silent was very good in terms of food, service and sunset while the other 2 were just fine, e.g. lights were too dim, some fixtures were loose, etc. For the hotels, they were good.

We had a great trip overall with one big disappointment
We had a great trip overall with Tanzania Specialist. Our guide was excellent, the accommodations were very good, and the entire trip was extremely well organized. Everything on the ground ran smoothly, and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience.
The one significant disappointment was the handling of the price. After we had already fully paid the agreed amount, Tanzania Specialist increased the price by an additional 4%, apparently due to increased energy costs. In our view, changing the agreed price after full payment is unacceptable and left an unnecessarily negative impression at the end of an otherwise excellent experience.
Without this issue, it would have been an easy five-star review.

Regarding the price adjustment, we understand your disappointment and appreciate you sharing your perspective. The adjustment was introduced across our customers after we experienced a significant increase in operational costs, particularly energy and fuel-related expenses. We shared this adjustment with our customers as part of our efforts to manage these increased costs while continuing to deliver the same level of service and quality.
We sincerely appreciate all our customers who understood the situation and willingly participated in covering part of these additional costs. At the same time, we value your feedback and regret that this aspect affected what was otherwise a very positive experience.
