Delays in approving work to proceed then work didn’t happen because the price AA quoted me the garage didn’t agree with. Had to phone AA many times to finally get this resolved. Won’t be using this again.

The mechanic was brilliant. He was earlier than expected and finished replacing the starter very quickly and he was very pleasant. The person I spoke to on the phone to make the booking was also brilliant. He could see the website wasn't working and couldn't have been more helpful. Where you lose is that the website wouldn't let me book a starter replacement on Sunday afternoon and when I rang the AA again, I was told nobody would be working at Smart Care on a Sunday and given a number to ring on Monday morning. The AA man who first came out (on Sunday) was excellent too, but he couldn't get a starter motor anywhere locally, or order one, on a Sunday and local garages were shut, so he told me to call Smart Care. My car was eventually fixed on Wednesday afternoon... and it's great, but for £340 a year paid to the AA it was a lot more complicated than I expected.

Part was not ordered until 5 days after the car broke down. I lied to consistently when enquiring about when the car would be fixed. The wrong part was ordered and had to wait until new part was ordered. New part arrived in AA stores, but was not fitted to the car until 5 days later (3 weeks it took to fix my car)
The mechanic however was great.

Easy to book ,technicain polite ,kept uptodate on appointment .
Arrived got on with work ,no problems occured.
As a disabled person this service was brilliant for myself .
Surprised your technician did not have a pop up cover ,we do have a lot of wet weather just a suggestion.
As a member for 45 years this is a service which was needed .

Straight forward and were able to get two tyres fitted to keep me mobile

The young man who came to service my car was very polite and happy. he came early which was good , but within the slotted time of arrival. When he had finished he would me all was ok and even fixed my fuel cap

The major service was completed very smoothly and the mechanic called George explained all that had been done. the car runs beautifully now. The booking process was very simple and quick to do with the price for what the work entailed being very competitive. Also with an AA mechanic you know they really know their stuff and are someone you can instinctively trust. George was an absolute credit to the AA and a 'very nice man'

The booking and collection process was brilliant. Communication when extra work was needed was also good however, there was no communication as to when the car would be returned and when the car was still not returned before the closing day the customer service from the garage was awful. Rude and blunt stating (we shouldn’t be talking to customers). I then received the car at 8pm that evening an hour after the garage shut and 2 hours after the AA customer service closed with no communication that I would even receive my car the same day. I then receive a message at 23:08 that I will get my car back between 4-6pm that day. Overall really disappointed in the communication from both parties.

This is the 1st time we used AA for our annual vehicle service. The cost was comparable but what sod us was that they come to your home. Things that did not go well: no phone call the morning of the afternoon appointment as promised, no call 15 minutes before arrival as promised! The actual service went well as far as i can tell but the next day we recieved the invoice and it incorectly showed the millage at 20K+ and the actual milage is 8K+. I notified AA of this the same day but it is now 4 days later and still no correction of the invoice. Not a good experience at the front and back of this transaction!
UPDATE Sep. 29th, 2026: Still no response even after, as the AA rep below said, a follow-up and another email request from me. Crickets...

I had a booking for a service but received no call and nobody turned up. It transpired the part was not available. I had to chase them and I have been promised a refund in up to 21 days.
What they should do better:
Pre screen vehicles before accepting the booking for a service
Call in advance of service (which is promised) to inform customer of situation and avoid time wasting
Give refunds in a quicker timeframe

I had an interim service carried out at home by Lucian and found him to be friendly, helpful, gave good advice and professional in his work. Would use the Mobile Mechanic service again in the future.

It was straight forward and I didn’t have any problems with booking the appointment for MOT.

It wasn't so much the company it was more the mobile mechanic who came out to service my car. He was very efficient and amicable of my requirements. Finished the work in a time managed fashion.

A very convenient way to get the work done on my car. Timely appointment and friendly mechanic. Very pleased with the price compared to what a local garage had quoted for exactly the same work.

I’ve dropped a star because getting the invoice and payment sorted was so difficult in our case. What you would assume to be automatic took from the appointment in June until September. This was despite talking to ‘bots’ and sending an email to chase the lack of paperwork and highlight the pending payment. When payment finally got taken, it happened with no warning whatsoever 2.5 months post the work being undertaken which could have been problematic if there hadn’t been funds.
