We found ‘The Car Way’ through a third-party website and arranged a test drive within 24hours. After prompt liaising via email and telephone, we have arranged finance, exchanged details and collected the vehicle within a further 48 hours.
Really happy with the team and drove away happy today.

AVOID unless you want a faulty car!
Bought a car from here earlier this year. It broke down only 2 months later and needs a full engine replacement which costs almost as much as the car. Have called them and they said on the phone that it's been too long for them to arrange a replacement/repair - even though it has only been 4 months since purchase (due to delays with investigations)!
I have emailed to ask for a replacement car/repair and will update this review should they demonstrate their commitment to customer service. However, so far they have alleged the garage I used to carry out diagnostics must have damaged the car even though no works have been carried out...

We would like to clarify the situation regarding your recent experience. You purchased the vehicle from us on 12/01/2025 and reported a breakdown on 07/04/2025. You took the car to your local VAT-registered garage, who diagnosed a failed head gasket. A warranty claim was subsequently submitted and approved on 09/04/2025, with a payout of £1,849.98.
Five weeks later, you informed us that the repair had not yet been carried out, and the garage was now stating that the vehicle requires a new engine. Given that the original repair was estimated to take 11 hours, it is difficult for us to understand why the work has been delayed for over five weeks.
Our decision has been based on the information available through the warranty provider’s portal and the invoice provided by your garage. If the roles were reversed, we believe you would have reached the same conclusion.
Unfortunately, we cannot be held responsible for issues arising from delays or further complications caused by your chosen garage. The matter should now be addressed directly with them. We have also attempted to contact the garage for clarification, but they have yet to return our call.

AVOID!!!
AVOID!!!! Not even a one star, absolutely appalling service. Multiple faults and a breakdown with the car after 3 weeks of owning it, after being shouted at down the phone and being hung up on, after stating my rights to ask for a refund on a not fit for purpose car that no longer drives! Such a shame as they were so lovely when they take your money. Small claims court here we go!

After our conversation over the phone yesterday we did agreed for you to return the car but you do not wish to bring it back on site and want us to come and get it and unfortunately that is not something we offer as stated on our T&Cs! You have a warranty and break down cover so if the car is not driveable use the break down cover and return it back to us and we will cancel the deal, return your P/X to you and refund you the rest!
Please return the vehicle back on site within the next 7 days and we will cancel the deal!
As a dealer we have done what we could! Provided you with top service when you came to buy a car, discounted a car and even stood behind so you won't be in rush!
You had a gearbox issue with your P/X that is why you didn't want to drive it back to Okehampton on the day and that is why you have done the deal and took our car and now that we have took your P/X of our website because of the gearbox issue you thought that we have sold it and wants to return the car which is not a problem! Your Part ex is in a garage having new gearbox fitted to it and it will be ready for next weekend. Please return our car back on site and we will cancel the deal and deduct the cost of the gearbox of your bill.

I bought a car from The Car Way in September 2024, and within four months, it developed a pre-existing fault in the AdBlue system.
On 3rd January, I called the dealership as soon as the issue appeared. They told me they would not help because the warranty had ended. I then emailed them twice (on 9th and 18th January), but they ignored me completely.
On 27th January, I called them again, and they once more refused to help, stating that it was my responsibility, not theirs. After this, I sent a formal letter. Only then did they respond, but instead of assisting, they simply blamed me for the issue, falsely claiming that I had “overfilled” the AdBlue tank—even though I strictly followed the car manual’s instructions.
This dealership ignores customers and refuses to take responsibility for faults. If something goes wrong with your car, expect to be ignored. Avoid them!

You've had your car for over 4 months and had no issues with it at all and then the adblue fault has appeared based on your statements if the fault was there at the time of the purchase it would have showed a lot sooner not after 4 months! and based on the report that you have sent us from your local garage it clearly mentioned that you have over filled the adblue and that is why the system has failed and unfortunatley we are not reliable for a fault that you have caused yourself.
