My experience with Seep washing up sponges has been disappointing. The sponges are vey stiff, and uncomfortable to hold and manipulate. Like other review-writers, I found that the sponge pad came loose from the scourer almost immediately. The sponge part is now, after just a few weeks’ use, flaking, with chunks coming off the sponge. I won’t be using the remaining sponges in the box, and will now experiment with a different brand.

I believe in the idea of this but this company are not ready to be charging £4 per sponge.
I saw an ad about sponges and microplastics recently and it really never clicked that sponges are probably made from plastic, and incredibly bad. So I immediately investigated and the next day headed to my local supermarket and found a Seep sponge, £4. A bit more than I'd be willing to pay for a sponge, but I thought I'd try it.
Very very disappointed from the get go. The scourer side is actually not great. Softens very very quickly. The cellulose side is pretty decent though and I found it actually cleaned better overall than the rougher side.
But, alas, I'd seek an alternative to this product...mine has completely fallen apart after less than 2 weeks. The two sides separated from each other after about 7 days and the sides have since both started tearing.
If you want to charge £4, you better make a good product.
Don't pretend to be part of the solution when all you are doing is capitalising on the problem with a rubbish product...that's not a solution.
Will not buy again.

Unfortunately although they clean the dishes well, 3 out of 4 sponges received separated from the scourer part after 1 or 2 uses. Very disappointed.

I like others wanted to like these sponges, I bought a pack of 4, the first one came apart at the stitching, the loofah on the second one i tried, got a large hole in it. I'm on the third and it seems to be holding together but, the loofah part once wet on any of them, isnt that good at scrubbing. I bought mine through Amazon and they refunded me. I wont buy them again.

I was very excited to purchase a box of 12 seep sponges for the first time. Sadly after 1 week the sponge began to separate from the back. Hence the one star. I haven't even washed it yet. I am hoping it was a one off!

I was keen to support this project after watching on tv. Sadly I’m very underwhelmed by them.I bought the sponge scourers and all purpose cloths. I wanted to buy the copper looking scourers too but they have buyout of stock since I first visited!!!
I agree with many others that the sponge scourers are very inflexible and washing cups et al is not an option. Also the 12 for 1 year is pure fantasy land, which makes the a bit overpriced. The all purpose cloths were really good, could almost use them as a flannel (now there’s an idea). I do think it’s crass the companies that purportedly want to grow and grow are repeatedly out of stock, it’s not good. I shall definitely get some more all purpose cloths and some copper scourers if the ever are in stock, but overall I was slightly underwhelmed.

I feel like Ive been made an absolute fool of. Seep is good name because your cash seeps through a hole in your bank account. Did you know your tiny particles on top of your sponges doesn't taste great with sauerkraut and I'm sure isn't eco friendly. And to add insult to injury they don't even wash my dishes properly, oh and for all you people who are struggling to wring things out with a strong grip. DON'T buy these. Because I can't wring them out well because of the hard stitching, they start to pong. Is there anything good about this product? 👎 NO.
As my friend told me, I apparently have been " GREEN WASHED" 🟩

We are totally delighted with our pads and sponges. Much better than we thought. Last well and thrilled that we are no longer having small amounts of plastic left on our crockery and cutlery. We were entitled to 10% cash back reward through True Potential and this was NOT honoured or received. Extremely disappointed that we bought from this company in good faith and once monies had been received, our incentive was not processed. We will be using an alternative company for our next purchase.

Apart from poor quality sponge scourers, I am dismayed that the company feel that trading with China aligns with their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) policy.
Trading with China is morally reprehensible and most certainly does not fit with Seep's stated aims. Many, many Chinese firms (BCorp certified or otherwise) have corrupt procurement streams, dreadful human and animal welfare rights and are more generally and regularly cited as spying on the UK or "digitally attacking" the UK infrastructure.
Lugging any products made in China the 4-5000 miles to reach the UK is far from environmentally friendly.
The facts about Cellulose: Cellulose products still have environmental impacts, but they are generally considered more sustainable than fossil fuel plastics due to being renewable, biodegradable, and capable of sequestering carbon, though concerns exist regarding deforestation, chemical processing (like in some regenerated fibers), and energy use in manufacturing, with impacts varying greatly by product and production method.
So Seep's partnering with On A Mission doesn't really detract from the huge energy required to make cellulose products or the fact that China's energy production is far from clean.
Read: China's energy eco-credentials present a paradox: it leads the world in renewable energy deployment (solar, wind) and green tech manufacturing, driving global solutions, yet remains the largest emitter due to massive coal use and growing demand, with its 2030 climate targets rated as "Insufficient" by the Climate Action Tracker, despite commitments to carbon neutrality by 2060. The country uses robust systems like Green Electricity Certificates (GECs) to track renewable use but faces scrutiny over its overall fossil fuel reliance and emissions trajectory.

I really wanted these sponges to be a positive step in reducing our plastic footprint, however in my first box, 3 of the sponges aren't even manufactured properly, the sponge isn't even attached to the loofah. I appreciate that natural materials are difficult to work with, but at £3.50 for each sponge Seep really should have a quality control process in place to check the quality of what they are sending out. Any sponges that aren't sewn properly shouldn't make it into the box.
I've also found that the sponge material itself starts to disintegrate within a week, so there is no way that 12 are going to last a year, which I feel is a very misleading marketing statement.
When I discovered the first sponge had come apart, I emailed Seep and they sent me a single replacement quickly, but, since checking the whole box and finding more issues, I have contacted Seep via email, their contact form and Facebook Messenger, and they are completely ignoring me now. So I absolutely won't be buying anything from them again, and will try one of the other brands like Vove which sell the same product (and cheaper too) who hopefully will have a more active customer service team should there be any issues.

I’ve tried the sponge scourers, copper scourers, rubber gloves and bamboo cloths. Honestly, the only item that lives up to my expectations is the bamboo cloths, which are good and last a long time. I’ll quite probably buy them again.
As others have said, the loofah side of the sponge scourers is too inflexible. I disagree with Seep’s view that it becomes more malleable over time. The copper scourers aren’t great and start to fall apart quite quickly. The rubber gloves are horrible-they become “sticky” after only a few wearings and they are thin. The worst thing for me is that the cuffs roll down and get in the way.

Really want this product to do well, and for me it cleans well on the sponge side but the scouter is less effective. I could live with that but the two parts of the sponge separated after only 5 uses. Will continue to use each part, but not as sturdy as some reviewers are reporting.
Following a very prompt and helpful response from the company, I have uprated my review and will see if subsequent sponges do better.

I so wanted to like the products, given the green credentials, but like others I find the eco sponge scourers too inflexible for cleaning delicate, curved or small items. There's too much inflexible loofah and not enough soft sponge. Following the company's advice to wet them and use dishwashing liquid hasn't improved the flexibility.

Resposta da Seep
Really happy with the sponges, seem to do their job well and last a long time without disintegrating.

Really poor quality given the price. Steer clear.

With all the plastic waste currently polluting our rivers and our food chain, I had been looking for some environmentally responsible cleaning products for some time now.
So I was pleasantly surprised to see Deborah Meaden advertising just such wares with seep.
I looked up seep on the web, but was unable to place an order as the site wouldn't let me use trusteer protection.
Fortunately some seep products were available at the Cheltenham Tesco.
My wife was initially horrified at the price, but we both have since become fans of the scourer and the dishcloths.
I hope that such products will start a cleaning materials revolution, but I am a little worried that it may only be an upper-middle-class one - with only Ms Meaden and Ms Woodall as the influencers.

I’m reviewing the eco-sponges. My first impression was that they weren’t pliable enough to get into nooks and crannies of glasses, and the first sponge started to split after a couple of uses. However, the sponge has softened with use and has held up extremely well for six weeks. There is still a split, but it didn’t get worse over time. We don’t have a dishwasher and hand wash everything, so this is great in terms of durability. There isn’t much scouring power, and I do use the sponge alongside brushes. Overall, I’m really happy with the product and will continue to purchase. The missing star is down to the price being a bit high.

Tried on 2 occasions to leave a one star review on their company websiteregarding the loofah scourers but wouldn't upload even after receipt of acknowledgement. Emailed company and was told it takes a moment for to upload, 48hrs later no uploaded review or response from further emails. They obviously don't let their website upload too many one star reviews challenging the green credentials they brand the product with. Any contribution to reducing my plastic use and disposing it in landfill is eroded by the shipping from China had I known this was where it was made and sourced with no real transparency I would never of purchased in first place.

In reply to your response you still haven't explained why my reviews have not been uploaded on the product I purchased, box 12 scourers, despite your email claiming they have.
On your website you source materials as near as possible to uk but manufacture them in China in BSCI Acredited fmanufacturers. I suggest customers enter "BSCI reviews" in their search engine and make their own decision about this certification.
