David Mathieson was my property lawyer and has been on a few occasions. He is thorough, very knowledgable, advises sagely and prompt to reply to emails and telephone calls. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

We have recently sold our property with Thorntons and found the whole process straightforward. Communication was very good and queries were answered promptly. Our lawyer was on holiday for a short time but made sure we knew who would be dealing with our business in her absence and passed on the contact details. No complaints at all.

We chose this company as they had mostly good reviews, the employee who we had initial contact with was very pleasant and seemed knowledgeable about the housing market and we thought the fees were reasonable. What we didn't like was that thereafter we felt talked down to and not listened to. Their idea of the sale price did not align with ours and we felt pressured into going with their offers over price. When we eventually changed this to a fixed price we were encouraged to take low offers below this and told that it was unlikely that we would achieve our fixed price (which we actually did).
