Referring to my previous complaint - Thriftenergy did come back and has removed most of the white render on my garden path, wall, window sill, and railings. So at least they tried! tiny pieces of render are still on the soil in my front garden which would be impossible to remove.

My neighbour next door (terrace), decided to have her walls insulated using the Greenhome grant scheme not knowing flammable EPS blocks were used, she thought it would be just a coat of render. Dust and debris descended on my garden during the work - it's mainly a veg and fruit garden. I insisted they clean it up. EPS is non-biodegradable. So, it will remain in my soil forever!! Debris and dust descended on my garden again when the rendering was done. Another clean up by them, left white render stuck to my path, wall, windowsill and railings! I've suffered from irritated lungs from the fine dust particles causing loss of time working. I've had workmen in my gardens finishing off the render. I've also had scaffolding anchored in my gardens and an overhang as well, no one asked permission to do this. This company does not respect other people's private property.
Finally after complaining and complaining, a man came to scrape a thin layer of top soil off to remove the debris and dust and dispose of it himself. Thank you.

The worst experience of my life allowing Thrift energy partnered with Carlisle City Council over my doorstep ! They were here to insulate my attic and fit a new boiler ! it’s nearly two years later and still not completed. They had to plaster it twice it was so bad, there was a snagging list as long as your arm. Still some incomplete. They told me in the beginning the grant I received would be below the £5,000 cap and I wouldn’t need to pay it back. It’s turned out over £10,000 and if I sell my home within ten years I have to pay it ( what was meant to be a grant ! ) back. The tradesmen had inadequate skills , at one point I had four guys walking through my house door up to the attic for over 10 days on a job meant to take 3-4. The boiler and radiator fitting was a nightmare too, they fit a heating system that didn’t work and just said sorry ! I had to complain to get the job semi complete. I’m still having problems now which is over 18 months later. Thrift Energy have caused so much stress I couldn’t explain! Take no notice what the salesmen say. They talk a great job, and sound very helpful and professional , but that’s not the end result. Handle with caution at your own risk !

I recently applied for a Green Homes grant to have external wall insulation to my home. I wasn't sure if this could be done as I had previously bought my ex council house which was classed as a prefabricated building. However it could not have been easier applying for this funding as E.ON checked this for me and then it was go! This work involved fixing a layer of insulation to the outside wall, then covering it with a special type of render (plasterwork). A survey was carried out and approximately 4-5 days later I was called to say been accepted. The Site Manager Paul Stewart was on hand when work being done and always answered queries instantly. I must make a special thankyou to the guys who worked on my house, all Rumanians, and also their team leader who worked really hard to a first class standard, never leaving my property without cleaning up after them. I felt as if their hard work has now made my property look absolutely fantastic, thankyou guys for this, I really appreciate this.
Once again thankyou to E.ON, Thrift Energy, all the guys working on house and not to forget the admin staff as well. Excellent work.

When the exterior wall insulation was completed must say tidy clean work. However by blocking ventilation to my loft causing extensive water damage they refuse responsibility of putting the decorations right costs over £3000 could have been 5 stars. So 1. Sick of the daily calls lasting hours to insurance

Excellent customer service. We had cavity wall insulation done through Thrift Energy. Unfortunately afterwards we got a damp patch on our living room wall after it was done. I rang Thrift Energy & spoke to a lady who was very apologetic & arranged straight away the same day to get someone out to check it. A very friendly young man came out to have a look & the very next day they came out to rectify the problem. Now that is excellent service.
