Slow and poor with communication
It took over a month from ordering my glasses to receiving them. Often, updates were provoked by my enquiries about the order.
I used this company a few years ago and the service and product were excellent. This time around, the experience was awful. I need to get new lenses online for my old glasses but I'll do this via another company.
Sadly this is the last time I'll be using Tortoise and Black.

I am sorry that your most recent experience fell below our usually excellent level of service . As per my email sent on the 23rd of January, the original lenses ordered did not meet the standard that we expect from our labs and a new set was ordered thus causing the delay.
We never wish to leave our customers unsatisfied, i have called this morning, left a voicemail and follow up email, please feel free to contact me directly when convenient.

Ordered a pair of Tom Ford prescription…
Ordered a pair of Tom Ford prescription glasses. Have always used an optician before so was a little nervous about what I would end up getting.
I needn’t have worried tho. Tortoise and black ordering system is easy and user friendly. Upload your prescription and off you go.
The glasses have been delivered quickly. The product is genuine TF and the saving was £160 vs my regular and competitive high street shops

Lost my sunglasses case so called the shop to ask if they had one in stock and if there was any issue to send me one. The lady I spoke to was extremely kind and arranged a next day delivery !

I have looked through your order notes and call logs, and can see that Ellie (our head of customer service) has tried to reach out to you by email and telephone on a number of occasions last week. There would appear to be an issue with the number provided, and we suspect that the emails may be ending up in your junk folder.
To move things forward, we would ask that you call us at a convenient moment on 01780 433033. Ellie has all of the information, and is keen to resolve this. Having been unable to reach you last week, Ellie did issue a refund on 05/12 for the price of the frame. However, it would be helpful to understand the reason for the return, so we can discuss the situation around the lenses.
We are proud of the customer service we offer, and never want anyone to leave us with a sour taste, so we are incredibly keen to make contact with you.

Cheaply made
Ordered some prada eyewear glasses. There is no way on this earth these are real prada frames. The whole thing was cheap plastic from the case to the frame. I can’t believe the amount I paid for these!! I’ve had better quality glasses for under £10. The prada sign was already rubbing off on both the frame and the case when I hadn’t even tried them on yet. Booked a Royal Mail collection within 20 minutes of them being delivered.
2 stars given for the smooth and fast delivery process but 0 stars for the item I was sold!!

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I am really sorry to hear you were not satisfied with the Prada Linea Rossa glasses ordered this week. We do not expect anyone to keep a product they are not entirely satisfied with, so naturally we will issue a full refund for the glasses (including the returns service) once they arrive back with us.
As an authorised online retailer for Prada and all of the other brands we work with, we only ever sell authentic products. As I am sure you can appreciate, this is an area we take incredibly seriously, and we are proud of the reputation we have built up over the years.
Moving forwards, we will certainly pass your feedback onto Luxottica (who hold the global licence for Prada eyewear) about the quality of this product and the case they provide. To manage expectations, Prada Linea Rossa is the Prada Group’s diffusion line, so it is a different proposition to the mainline Prada collection. That being said, Prada Linea Rossa is a popular range for us, so we will certainly look into this particular model.
