Travel local are amazing and their partners across the globe can’t do enough for you to create a memorable trip. Our latest trip to Thailand was fantastic can’t recommend them highly enough.

Tolles Reiseziel ; extrem freundliche und hilfsbereite Menschen; sehr gute Organisation ;sehr zuverlässiger , sprachlich kompetenter und empathischer Fahrer ; Essaouira für mich persönlich etwas zu touristisch - das dortige Hotel, die Villa Quieta ist extrem hochwertig eingerichtet, aber in die Jahre gekommen - der Garten ist schön, bedarf aber etwas mehr Pflege -> insgesamt hat man den Eindruck, dass die Personaldecke für dieses große Hotel einfach zu dünn und auch nicht innovativ genug ist.

Taking the complexity out of organising a perfectly planned trip using TravelLocsl. From pickup to all hotels and attractions exceeded our expectations. Definitely value for money and without any hassle.

My wife and I just completed almost 6 weeks of travelling through Chile and Argentina. Most of the trip was booked through a Travel Local associated company – Say Heuque based in Buenos Aires being our primary contact. They booked hotels, internal flights, a 4 day Patagonian cruise, drivers and excursions. We ourselves booked flights to/from UK, also some accommodation in places when Say Heuque could not provide what we wanted in terms of quality, location or type.
It was a very complex itinerary with many moving pieces, largely built together efficiently and effectively in a very positive, adaptable manner. And, overall it was a fabulous trip, a great experience in a wonderful part of the world. Both countries have so much to offer the visitor.
We particularly valued Say Heuque for the friendliness and upbeat personality of the staff – best example in the booking process with Sofia hearing about her experiences and recommendations; also their emergency contact number answered quickly and quickly resolved issues; and we liked their app, Vamos, my wife loved completing the daily blog with photos
Some things did fall through the cracks, as follows:
- incredibly frustratingly – and expensively - we were not made aware of a hold luggage maximum on Aerolinas Argentinas, so ended up having to buy luggage and pay for extra baggage on flights in Argentina and Chile , and have the inconvenience of transporting an extra bag when, had we known, we simply would have been more efficient at packing before we left UK
- we had specified twin rooms throughout but half way through trip – Ushuaia and el Calafete - we were offered double beds in two consecutive hotels and discovered Say Heuque had changed our specification
- our hotel in Punto Arenas could only be entered via a front door security code which we were not provided with and so could not access the accommodation the evening we arrived by taxi from the airport, not at all what one wants after a long, tiring day
- we paid for airport transfers with English speaking drivers but at times the driver could speak no English whatsoever, Spanish only
With the trip now done, what we would have valued more of from Say Heuque are as follows:
- Considering and agreeing our preferred options. We found ourselves on flights, on a bus, in hotels where we hadn’t been asked our preferences for cabin class, room location and such which at times definitely impacted the enjoyment
- More thought about what we doing and when so as to gain the maximum from the experience – putting themselves in our shoes as to what the travel experience would be like day to day . For example, we had no idea about the need to buy tickets in advance to gain admittance for certain national parks, or that some days of the week the parks, museums etc. were closed. As well, with the benefit of hindsight, we now know some of the itinerary could have been adjusted to make it more manageable and less of a race
- Insight on cultural protocols in Chile and Argentina, do’s and do not’s, tipping being one of the best examples
- Greater responsiveness to our less urgent questions whilst we were travelling. We still have not had an answer to our question about baggage allowance on the Salta to San Pedro bus, for example, despite asking at least 5 times. 😊 In other words, making us feel valued as customers, however minor or stupid our questions might appear.
Just to finish on an impression, and we might be wide of the mark, it just felt that the company lacked the experience of handling such a complex itinerary for foreign travellers. So, the issue re maximum weight hold baggage for example, maybe that doesn’t come up for Argentinians on shorter trips.
To that end, if we were to use the company again - and we certainly will want to revisit - it would more likely be with a very prescriptive itinerary, our precise needs detailed in advance and the commission effectively to organise and book.

The trip to Chile was very nice. The Magnolia hotel certainly worked well for us and the daily wine trips were a bit long but the choice of vineyards was excellent. We certainly enjoyed our guide Angel and driver Jennifer. They were knowledgeable, on time and always polite. While we were in Santiago we had some very nice dinners. Borago and La Mer were highlights.

We had a very comfortable and enjoyable 6 days in Tunisia. Our TravelLocal representative, Ms. Bochra, was patient, very responsive, and always went the extra mile to help us settle into the hotels we stayed at. Our guide was knowledgeable, and our driver was always punctual, patiently waiting for us to finish our site visits. Overall, it was a very good experience. Highly recommended.

Unsere Reise nach Nepal war einfach ein absolutes Highlight – und das verdanken wir ganz besonders Shiva mit seinem Team!

Schon vom ersten Moment an waren wir begeistert: Mit so viel Herzlichkeit, Aufmerksamkeit und echter Leidenschaft wurden wir schon ab dem 1. Telefonkontakt bis zum Ende der Reise begleitet, so dass wir uns jederzeit nicht nur sicher und bestens organisiert, sondern auch wirklich willkommen und aufgehoben gefühlt haben.
Die Zuverlässigkeit, Pünktlichkeit, Freundlichkeit und beeindruckende Fachkompetenz von Shiva und Team sind herausragend – aber was ALLE wirklich besonders macht, ist ihre warme Art und die Liebe zu ihrem Land, die sie mit uns geteilt haben. Dank Shiva und Team haben wir Nepal nicht nur gesehen, sondern wirklich erlebt.

Die gesamte Organisation war perfekt – jedes Detail war durchdacht, alles lief reibungslos und die Reise war wie maßgeschneidert für uns.

Wir sind mit unvergesslichen Eindrücken und ganz vielen besonderen Momenten im Herzen zurückgekehrt. Für uns steht fest: Wir kommen wieder nach Nepal!

We were amazed by the service we received. At every step along the way we were met by a guide who made certain all our arrangements were clear and we were comfortable. All arrangements made for us were outstanding, from transfers to hotels. All the guides were very good. We offer a special thanks to Patricia in Cusco for extraordinary help.

Wonderful 3 weeks in Vietnam. Well organised by Thao and Thang.

My husband and I had once-in-a-lifetime experiences in Sri Lanka. During 6-hour whale watching tour, they served us breakfast and lunch on the boat and unluckily we couldn't see any whales on that day, but we saw many schools of spinner dolphins and some Riso's dolphins. The view from the boat was fantastic! We strolled around Galle city looking over Indian Ocean and seeing the beautiful sunset. In Yala, we enjoyed riding a jeep and going on a safari. Our guide was so nice to tell where to look at precisely. Thanks to him, we were able to see monkeys, buffaloes, mongooses, crocodiles, snakes, owls, various kinds of birds and even a leopard though we didn't come across elephants. It was a lot of fun. Our driver added one hour bird watching tour in the lake in Yala to the itinerary and it was proceeded in the heavy rain. The skipper was a lovely and funny guy and made us laugh a lot. After that, we drove up to the mountain areas called Ella, which was stunning view of mountains. we climbed up to the Adam's Peak, but suddenly the mist came over us and we couldn't see anything, which was a shame. The most unforgettable experiences was getting on the scenic train from Ella to Ambewela. The train ran through high lands and tea plantations very slowly, which was a lot of fun and gave us amazing views from the window. We got so excited crossing over Nine Arches Bridge. Lastly we stayed in Kandy, which was an old city. We visited Temple of Sacred Tooth Relic and followed the praying rule. We enjoyed watching Kandyan Dance Show at the Kandyan Art Association very much. Their performances were wonderful. Overall, we could have not enjoyed ourselves so much without our chauffer, who was also our guide. This private tour was expensive for us, but it was worth doing it. Our tour organizer and chauffer gave us really unforgettable experiences. We also was amazed at our chauffer's driving technique!!

We had a such a fantastic experience! My wife and I enjoyed an 8-day tour of Northern Vietnam organised entirely by Thao & Thang at Go-Indochine. During the tour we had two different local guides, each for different regions. They really made the difference to our holiday! Relaxed, informative, funny, and organised - and most importantly very flexible and attentive to our needs. We are pescatarian, which was perfectly catered for, and we have an interest in walking and nature, which helped shape each day. We went 'off-the-beaten-track' exploring quiet villages and mountain trails, linking us up with local people, who were always so welcoming and warm.
We had a WhatsApp group with our guide so any questions could be answered during the trip.

The organisation and local knowledge by the local tour operator. This was important in Egypt to ensure we visited where we wanted

We never got to India as our flight was cancelled by Air India on the day of departure, We were unable to find any other flights. We are still waiting for a refund as this was not our fault or choice.

Setting the trip up went very well - Michela was very helpful and adjusted hotels and timings to our preferences

Over all is an excellent trip. Love the pick up and drop off service to hotel from airport. They are on time every time and with great service. Most of tours are half day average of 5 hours therefore leave the remaining time for rest or chance for self exploitation because your casa is near town center. The hostess are very kind and friendly, breakfast is very health with fresh juice, local fruits, Eggs, local delicacies.

Die Reise war super organisiert. Ein ganz großes Lob geht an unsere Reiseführer vor Ort und unseren ganz tollen Fahrer. Alle haben sich super um uns gekümmert. Wir hatten unvergessliche Tage in Indien. Alles hat super geklappt. Wir mussten uns um nichts kümmern. Ein ganz großes Kompliment an das gesamte Team vor Ort.

Our main contact, Cathy was very helpful and tried to accommodate all our requests. Our hotels were wonderfully chosen, and we did ask for a lot, so our days were packed with events but carefully timed. I wish we had discussed actual transport transitions a bit more especially when it came to the trains. Also, our local guides were terrific as well and Daniel in Bath was especially amazing and accommodated our request to go to Windsor when he was not aware of that request from the planning phase. He was especially wonderful with our 6-year-old daughter and my grumpy husband. All in all, well worth the support of Travel Local for a complex and relatively quick trip. Thanks!!

The excellent organisation and prior knowledge of a suggested itinerary gave a detailed overview of what our experience should be in Egypt. All the guides and team leaders shared their detailed professional knowledge of Egyptian history and their own cultural and family values and identities. All tickets, flights additional requests and messages were communicated through WhatsApp which made our holiday so much more enjoyable. As we are a country that does not tip it would of been helpful to have some basic guidelines as to how much and who to tip included in the itinerary.
