Tutorchase is an excellent platform for students and tutors. As a tutor, easy to access all the related works, setting up availability and starting to the lesson.

I booked 15 lessons and these were fab. I then had money taken from my account for another 15 lessons. These were not authorised and despite communication with the company they are refusing the refund the money which is over £1000

I am sharing my experience to warn others about TutorChase's billing methods. They sent an approval email including an unauthorized package I never requested, claiming it would be automatically charged unless cancelled within 24 hours. I find this "forced consent" approach highly deceptive and unfair to consumers. Despite my immediate attempts to resolve this, the company has been unresponsive, forcing me to initiate a chargeback through my bank. I strongly advise potential customers to be cautious of these hidden terms.

Update on 15th of April, 2026 :

The company’s reply is not true. I want to be clear: I never asked for this expensive package. Sending an email and charging me automatically after only 24 hours is a trap, not a fair business practice.

Also, they claim I didn't respond, but that is a lie. I messaged them immediately to cancel, but they ignored me for two weeks.

What is even worse: I still had many lessons left in my old package. But the company ignored those and started taking money from the new, unauthorized package first. This is a trick to make sure they don't have to refund the new charge. Because of this, I had to stop all lessons, which has been very bad for the student’s study schedule. This company’s system is designed to take your money without real consent.

We liked our tutor and wanted to continue the lessons. If the company hadn't used these dishonest tactics, we would have happily purchased more sessions when needed. However, because of this deceptive billing, I can no longer trust or do business with this company. It is a shame that their greed destroyed a great relationship between a student and a teacher. I am disappointed and angry that I was forced to stop lessons because of their trickery.

I see another review posted just below mine describing the exact same situation. This proves that my experience was not an isolated mistake, but a systematic issue with how this company operates. It is clear now that many customers are being trapped by these same unfair billing tactics. I strongly urge everyone to be extremely cautious before giving any payment information to this company.

Jessica was a very patient tutor and was really nice and slow in teaching me during our first demo class, I’m looking forward to doing more serious classes with her and seeing how her teaching unfolds. Very calm and smooth class!

Teacher very nice and knew her topic. Negative is the price. I feel that compared to other teaching services I have had, this is by far more expensive.

I would like to share my appreciation for Jessica's patience and kindness .During our session she created a calm and stress free learning environment, where it feels comfortable to ask questions and take the time needed to truly understand the material.

Overcharged me starting with the price £80. Then after i complained saying it was too expensive and out of budget they started to bring it down. They took me as vulnerable and tried to manipulate me into paying £80 per 50 minutes!!!

At first i was with a tutor that started off very well but when i had exams and college and became very busy, i told them that i would need a few weeks off while i focus on my exams, suddenly he started to get very annoyed at me, they then started to be extremely rude over text. However i was then assigned a different tutor and she is called Jess, she is absolutely lovely and has really turned around this demeanor of a tutor that my previous one gave , i have nothing but the highest praises and thank you's for her

Candace was an excellent tutor for our son in Chemistry HL in IB from the start meeting to our son passing succesfully the exam. I had my first online lesson with Jessica yesterday and I was very satisfied once finished. I enjoyed feeling understood and helped by her as soon as we met. The lesson was structured in a clear way, where we first of all identified what I wanted to focus on, along with strengths and weaknesses to target. She explained each step in a simple way that allowed me to fully engage with the problems I was solving and understand which method worked best for me in regard to the problem we were solving. Also, I really liked the platform Kami we worked on. It is a new thing to me; however, i found it very helpful and simple to use, as it allows both tutor and student to work together simultaneously to show their workings. I'm looking forward to diving into this journey together: becoming more confident with the math subject and feeling more prepared for the upcoming SAT tests.

They were really fast in finding me a suitable and perfect tutor. I also liked the fact that even though one didnt work out for me, they easily without complaint found me another one. My sessions with Maira for HL IBDP English has gone extremely well and has helped me a lot.

Oyin was most professional and accommodating in her approach to my daughter's LNAT tuition. My daughter enjoyed the sessions, found them engaging and on point, and Oyin helped tremendously with her confidence levels. Highly recommend.

From the initial point of contact, Jethro was easy and efficient to deal with. We needed some last minute support for an LNAT exam. The first tutor he introduced us to wasn’t a great fit but swiftly introduced us to Oyin, who was punctual, efficient, extremely knowledgeable and supportive. Due to the time pressure and knowing my son had the exam looming she kindly rejigged her diary to squeeze in more sessions. I have to say overall a brilliant service.

Very helpful, ensured I knew every topic as we went along whilst also giving me many examples and going through step by step each task.

The tutors have been very good and Jack, who coordinates with me, is very helpful. However, the online billing information is very confusingly presented. I contacted customer support via info at tutorchase.com two weeks ago to ask whether why a free first trial lesson had been billed to my account, but have heard nothing since.

My experience was great. It is not cheap, but if you consider that you have high qualified professors, in one lesson they can manage to do what others would do in 3 lessons. The method they use is the value added and the capability to clearly explain difficult topics. I can only strongly recommend their service. We had Evangelos as a tutor.
