No customer Service

I changed banks and had to inform them of change . Also decided to pay monthly. It is impossible to speak to anyone. I must have wasted 5 hours trying to sort this out
Eventually I decided to cancel my licence, I was then transferred to a phone line, which after 25 minutes no one answered. I then raised a complaint and someone emailed me with a form which has to be signed and returned. As I have no printer this isn't going to work for me either😩

Absolute rip off typical rip of britain

Absolute rip off and all you are doing is lining the fat cat bosses pockets. Goes up every year but same old crap repeat after repeat. Waste of time buying TV times you might as well pick up one from 6 years ago or thurther and it will be the same crap from which I watched 50 years ago. Don't watch TV or news as news always about other problems in other countries so what sky / netflix and prime but as like everyone else have to pay full price for TV licence even though no TV aerial or watch live TV. Typical of this country making you pay several times over and over again for absolute rubbish. Don't see how as well when two Ronnie's can be live stream when one of them is dead plus step toe and son when they are dead also and half the cast from carry on are dead

Dislike their aggressive tone in correspondence

Same as lots of people on here – my property was empty as I was moving there in a couple of months. When I arrived, had lots of threatening letters. I phoned them and told him I didn’t appreciate the tone in their letter. When I arrived on the 21st of December, I bought a TV license then when I got the notification, it said it was due to be renewed on the 30th of November 2026 – when I query this they said they only start theirs from the first – so I said I’ve got to pay for three weeks license when I didn’t need one – they said yes! No other organisation would be able to get away with this. Paying for something you haven’t had - disgusting and nothing you can do about it.

I do not watch or download live TV, I do not use BBC player. Yet despite checking no on EVERY box on the TV Lisencing questionnaire, it tells you that you still need a lisence. This follows more threatening letters from them. An absolute disgrace, certainly legally questionable.I try to call them many times and all the time they hang up on me without even starting conversation. Looking foward to seeing the end of this organisation and the BBC!

I Cannot wait to see TVL collapse. Who gives a damn about the BBC? We are paying for then to push out their own agendas. Why the hell would I pay £157 to watch BBC or live Tv? Live Tv is crap. Online services have a better variety. F the BBC. Bullsh*t British Channel.

31st December 2027 no more licence

For the last couple years i have only ever watched the BBC news. I dont bother with any of the other channels like itv, channel 4 and 5 as I find the adverts so boring. Now dont get me wrong, the BBC news is on a constant loop. It becomes boring but I only leave it on for background noise to be honest. I think the fee they charge is way too much a year. But on 31st December 2027 there will be no more tv licence to worry about and that day can not come quick enough. The reason I have given 4 stars is the news they do offer is important to keep up with what's going on in Ukraine and the USA. That's the only reason I have given 4 stars. Besides this, I find the tv licence fee is too much for the year. And the news is on a loop repeating itself. Years ago you only paid tv licence for the BBC. But now you not only pay for a tv licence to watch tv, but your now paying your service supplier too to watch the tv. So your paying twice. But the tv licence will be gone in 2027 forever and you'll be saving about £175 every year. I urge you all to be like me and keep ticking off the days. Every day is a day nearer to us all saying bye bye to the tv licence forever.

Complete Joke (dis) Organization

I'm in the process of renovating a house after council tenants destroyed it. I notified TV Licensing and helpfully told I didn't need a TV license (thanks Einstein). There follows a succession of mildly threatening letters which misquote the law on the subject. I answered each one on line or by email. Each successive letter starts as you've not been in touch. Registering a complaint was also a waste of time, completely ignored. The organisation is completely unprofessional and deserves to get sued for their flagrant incompetence.

Fraudster inside TV Licensing

TV Licensing have an internal spy / snitch sending customer email & licence expiry dates to fraudsters. This to allow an offshore fraudster / scammer to send plausible emails to customers just before their legitimate renewal email arrives. I have made an official complaint to TV Licensing, but they aren't interested.

They keep sending email to pay tv licence when I don't even watch there foolishness.
Do some returdancy & stop bothering people.
Having too many staff writting emails & sending mail.

Borderline criminal harrasment

In 4 months had nothing but about 9 passive aggresive letters from these con artists .the laugh is the property in question didnt so much as have a chair it much less less an lcd even a mouse could watch.

If was any other company wpuld be more like a shakedown from a 1990s gang !!!!

Terrible service

Worst automated phone line experience I have ever had and no option to talk to an actual person. Their binary yes / no system leaves no room for nuance and is therefore unable to assist with individual scenarios. The entire company and system needs overhauling - no wonder it has such a bad reputation if this is how it treats people.

Hostile application and ugly threatening processes..bleah

I would give as a review a big zero for this service quality, but I can not 🙄.... I just simply do not need this service and then I get back lengthy threatening surveys to complete, about how in all the ways I do not use it... stupid things ... then threatening messages in the applicarion about how others have been made to pay fines, or how you can be prosecuted... disgusting anyhow..ugly messages... I do not need it, and it should be as simple as that... I do not need hostile messages all throughout the application 🙄 😒

So cancelled my licence as i do not watch the crap, only watch Netflix was left alone for about a month then the harassment started letter after letter emails and phone calls constantly, then sent someone to my address to see if i had a tv ,well of course i have a tv how would i watch Netflix, took me to court and basically lied in front of the judge and said i was watching bbc but i did not even let him in my house, so i would recommend that if you do get a visit from them video record the f,ckers ,

These people are unable to absorb a…

These people are unable to absorb a licence holder having died, someone is left behind and the account details need to change. We all but begged to pay them without luck. They sent letters telling us to complete the enclosed form without enclosing the form THREE times. Everything I tried online wouldn't accept any of the changes I needed. They simply couldn't grasp it and yet it can't be the first time it's happened. They engage the most vociferous methods to gather revenue when someone refuses to pay yet wouldn't help us. This added to the grief and distress. It took 9 weeks of continuing to plug away and fight to get this done at the most difficult time of our lives. Executors don't get paid while paid employees fail very simple tasks hand over fist. A complete shambles.

Appalling website

Appalling website - cancelled licence for my mother who died - still getting chasers to pay. Cancelled licence for my father-in-law (also died) and got an email thanking me for agreeing to pay license by direct debit for the next year. One star is one too many.
