Very disappointed with lack of action to fix broken lift
So we have a storage locker in their building in Milner Street Warrington. We have furniture stored in there for a house move that was taking place, including a large settee which we can't take down the stairs, on Saturday 6th December 2025. On arriving at the facility, the lift which takes us to the second floor where our locker is was not working. There are no other lifts which take us to where our locker is located. We contacted the company and were told they would reset it and we would need to wait 20 minutes. We did that and it still didn't work. Phoned them again and they said they would send an engineer out. We didn't hear anything else so I went to the locker on Sunday morning and it still wasn't working. My wife phoned them and they said they hadn't managed to get an engineer out. We said we had family members who were due to move into their new house the day before, and if it wasn't fixed today they would not be able to move and would have to move in with relatives. They were unable to help or give us any time frame as to when it would be fixed. We rang yesterday, they said an engineer was there, and that was the last we heard. I went down at lunch time, an engineer was there but he was adamant he wasn't there for the lift. I went in and the lift was still broken. My wife has rung again and there is still no resolution to this. My stepdaughter, her partner, their 2 year old little girl and their dog have now been with relatives for 4 days and still no indiocation when the lift will be fixed. The attitude of customer services seems to be they are not particularly bothered.

I called the centre and spoke to a lady…
I called the centre and spoke to a lady called Joanne. Amazing and Jo made it so easy. I called around a few other storage centers and high and higher. Called uk storage and Joanne sorted out the deal and unit which was fantastic for me. Arrived at the unit. Really clean site with good security. Thank you again Jo.

Facility good, questionable company practices
The storage experience itself was good; easy to arrange, clean premises, plenty of trolleys etc for moving items from your car to your unit. You will get to learn your access code from memory as you have to enter it several times moving through the premises, but at least you know your property is secure. The low score relates to the company's procedure to claiming payment when you vacate and the refund time, which is a shame. You have to pay for each month in advance, which is perfectly fine. You also have to give 2 weeks notice before moving out, which again is fine, but they insist on taking a full month's payment even if you were going over by 1 day having already given that notice period, at the threat of no access if you don't. It then takes them over 3 weeks to refund the difference of what you haven't used. It's a shame as until that the experience had been great.

Our records show that your payments were made via Direct Debit. With this method, we do need to ensure the funds have fully cleared before a refund can be processed. Your account was finalised on 19th November, and refunds are typically received within 7–10 days.
On this occasion, I can see your refund was returned to your account on 3rd December — one day later than estimated. We apologise for this delay and appreciate how frustrating it can be when timings don’t align as expected.
Thank you again for your comments. We’ll continue to review our processes to ensure they’re as clear and smooth as possible for our customers.

First class storage
First class storage. Excellent customer service. Open 24/7 plenty of carts and a great big lift. Units are clean and cool. Weve had 2 sizes over the years and both great sizes. Moving so can't use any more but an easy cancellation service too. All in all perfect and highly recommend.

We have had this storage for 3 years…What an excellent service!
We have had this storage for 3 years and were delighted with it. The staff could not have been more kind and helpful when we needed to ask questions. Being released from the contract was stress free - we no longer need it. I am even due a refund which Tegan is organising. She was marvellous with an excellent telephone manner and clarity of explanation. Have recommended it to another family member who is now on board with UK Storage. Thank you. What a service!

I've got a storage unit in Witney and I just needed to change it for a different size. There is no physical office anymore, so I had to do it over the phone, which I thought would be arduous. Worst experience I have ever had of…
Worst experience I have ever had of renting storage. I downsized to a unit, leaving two units and was first of all overcharged for a unit. I was no longer renting, then weeks later receive notification that they were getting debt collectors on to me. I rang and of course it was their mistake because yet again they had got confused. I was assured that would not happen again and that it had been sorted. Then yesterday I got an email to say that in 48 hours they are auctioning all of my belongings from the storage unit.. again their error. Each time I phoned I was told somebody would get back to me and it was always me ringing to say that nobody had and what was happening. To make matters worse, when they first started making mistakes, I told them I couldn’t deal with the stress because of having lost my husband to cancer. This company just do not care. There is nobody at the storage unit, no staff there, so each time you have to phone a telephone number. Worst and most disgusting service from a storage rental company I have ever experienced and I have rented before.

Great service.
We booked a storage unit when we were moving house and due to the amount of stuff we had we ended up booking a second unit. Later on, I thought I had cancelled Unit, but it turns out I had not completed the process fully.
I reached out to the customer service who were very helpful and got me through the process and also a refund of the time not used. During this process I was referred to Aidan, who got the money back in my bank account quickly!
The storage unit is affordable and clean, and I tried to use a few different units. This was definitely the most user-friendly.
