Vienna Airport to city transfer - cheated by driver
I booked a transfer from Vienna airport to the city. the quote I received was for 38 EUROs, however upon arrival the driver asked for 48 EUROs. Stupidly, I paid as I assumed I did not remember correctly and even more stupidly, I didn't ask for a receipt. Next day I did go back to the e-mail conformation and it was indeed supposed to be 38 EUROs. After contacting the company, they initially said it was misunderstanding and they will refund, but then produced a handwritten receipt for 38 EUROs (could have been handwritten anytime and for any price and for any date).
My mistake for not asking and challenging the price on the spot. I do not recommend this company as they seem to have unethical drivers and questionable practices. Would recommend to book with an alternative provider and pay with card online if you are visiting Vienna, unfortunately taxi driver cheating is on the rise in the city. A usual airport fare should be 36 - 40 Euro if booked in advance (more expensive if you get a taxi on the stand).
