From the minute I put the enquiry form in on the Weight Loss Riga site, I've experienced great service. The team have supported me throughout the process. I booked the procedure in march 2021, for October 2021. Throughout this time, the team kept me well informed about the change in regulations with regards to foreign travel etc.
Upon my arrival in Riga, a taxi was waiting for me at the airport to transfer to the hotel. The hotel was very nice, clean and in a prime location to have a wonder around the city.
The next morning, one of the clinics representatives was waiting at reception (at the pre-arranged time). A taxi took a group of us over the the clinic.
The clinic was beautiful and clean. The nursing staff were very pleasant. Their English is limited, but I would not expect otherwise travelling to another country. Nothing google translate couldn't remedy however.
So the pre-operative tests were carried out. By late morning, the surgeries were scheduled for the day.
Post operative care was faultless. The nurses on my floor were efficient with IV fluids, IV pain medication and supported me with getting dressed and walking post op.

Everything went straightforward for me. I am very thankful for that. I absolutely would highly recommend using this company. They are thorough and have been amazing with me. You won't regret it!

Since returning from Riga I’ve heard some absolute horror stories from other people who had the same procedure as me, in the UK & in Turkey. This really is testament to the five star service Riga offers. Polite, friendly, incredibly efficient, English speaking staff who did everything to make my stay as seamless & pain free as possible. Everything was taken care of, from the point of landing through to leaving the clinic, I cannot fault the service I received from the entire team and am truly grateful for all the help and support I received throughout my entire journey. I would recommend Weightloss Riga to anyone considering surgery.

What an amazing experience Weight Loss Riga was. From start to finish it was just first class. The doctors and staff are just wonderful, everything is so well organised and the clinic is spotless. Over the last year I have tried to get to Riga 4 times, and every cancellation due to covid I have had to make Mim and the team have been amazing and have answered any questions/queries I have had. I am now 6 days post op and couldn’t have asked for a better experience from start to finish. The nurses at the clinic are so friendly and helpful. The surgeon was very professional and honest. The clinic is immaculate. Everything went ahead as planned and I am now home starting my weight loss journey. Thankyou to everyone involved from booking to surgery to cleaning in Riga!!! Xx

Great experience from start to finish. All planned with military precision.
All involved were polite and courteous, treating me with respect. The hotel was lovely. The clinic pristine.
No pain or wind which were my biggest fears. Pain relief given when asked for.

Like everyone considering surgery abroad I had my reservations before even enquiring - Mim and Sur made me feel completely at ease and I felt confident I had made the right decision. The entire trip was smooth and arranged perfectly. The hospital was impeccable - I walked through the door and couldn’t believe it was the cleanest lace I had ever seen! Everyone was brilliant; from beginning to end.

From start to tge end an excellent service provided.
Amazing and professional staff, coordinators, nurses, surgeons.
Clean and great standard the hotel and the clinic. Money for value
Everything is language; even with little English the nurses were accommodating, present and helpful.

I had a Gastric Bypass On the 14th of September. I was so relieved to find an affordable place to have the surgery and change my life for the better.
I was cared for and considered the whole process from paying to being discharged.
The clinic is spotless and my surgeon is at the top of his game. I have 4 tiny scars that are fading nicely after only two weeks and I have already lost another 16lbs. I’m still in the care of my Dietitian provided by the clinic and my GP is being supportive and providing necessary blood tests and vitamins.
I highly recommend Weight loss Riga.

I couldn’t recommend weight loss Riga enough, from first contact with mim I felt at ease about the whole process. I was met at the airport by the taxi driver who had my name on a board so he was easy to find, taken straight to the hotel and Artur text to advise what time I would be picked up in the morning, we went straight into clinic on the Monday morning for pre ops and my operation was the Monday afternoon. Everything was explained to me as it was happening so I wasn’t shocked by anything, I found the commutation with all staff very good, I had no need to use google translate at all during my stay. Pain meds were provided as and when needed all I had to do was ask, the only thing I would suggest was maybe giving bigger gowns for surgery, after all I was there for weight loss surgery, also I would recommend taking your own towels for showers as these are also very small. I was discharged on the Wednesday afternoon which gave me a day and a half to explore Riga, it’s a beautiful place and would definitely go back for a weekend break to explore some more. I can’t thank the whole team enough for their help and support through the whole process. You have given me my life back.

A seamless experience. No hard sell and pushy sales, excellent service, prices and clinical care.

The hotel was average, but that review will be left for trip advisor, I cannot fault the level clinical care and service. The camaraderie between others travelling for surgery was unique and long standing friendships have been established, something that going Private in UK would not happen.
In an ideal world, this procedure would be done on the NHS, however if you cannot wait 3 years on a never ending waiting list, sound out treatment abroad but make sure you include Weight Loss Riga

I can’t recommend Weight Loss Riga enough, from my first contact with Mim the patient co-ordinator,until I returned home everything went perfectly. The hotel you are put in is beautiful. Then all taxis to and from airport to hotel to clinic all very nice. Clinic is spotlessly clean. Nurses are all very helpful and attentive. Even the language barrier doesn’t take away from the care you get.
Everything is run very smoothly, and efficiently. I only have positives to take away. If you are looking somewhere to go for bariatric surgery then this is definitely the place to go.

I’m so happy with my choice to have WLS with WLRiga! The clinic is clean, the nurses and doctors are professional, there is a slight language barrier, but there is always someone there willing to explain a little better if you’re not sure. I had a sleeve gastrectomy with Weight Loss Riga . The whole process was well organised and smooth from start to finish. All the medical personnel were extremely competent and professional . I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for weight loss surgery.

Like anybody else, I was super nervous and a bit skeptical about booking to have surgery abroad, but after my first phone call with Mim, my mind was made up!
I had a gastric bypass done in February, and even though there were travel restrictions in place, WLR took care of everything and helped arrange flights and PCR tests where necessary.
Even to this day, Mim and the team have been extremely helpful and check in to see how I am getting on.
I opted for the nutritionist as well - Guna is lovely and very knowledgeable, and definitely worth paying extra for - she is there to provide knowledge and support about food after the op, and helps keep you on the right path!
My actual experience at the clinic was outstanding - the nursing staff, anaesthetist and surgeon work like a well oiled machine - super efficient! There was a very slight language barrier at times - but certainly nothing significat, of course, you can't go to a different country and expect everyone to speak perfect English!
The clinic is the cleanest I've ever seen a hospital and everyone has been amazing.
I am currently 5st 5lb down and this has genuinely changed my life for the better!!!!!

Weight loss Riga have changed my life!!… if you are thinking about having this surgery abroad but are worried, please don’t. Every one of the staff are absolutely fabulous. The information you get pre op is second to none and then when you arrive in Latvia the care you receive is outstanding!!! Would highly recommend.
