It doesn’t tell you a delivery date so waited a week to get delivered. Wasn’t kept up to date. The quality of the wood is excellent though

Good quality timber
2nd time I have used Wern wood, prices are the cheapest I’ve found and the timber is a good quality 70 lengths of 4 x 2 CLS and all of them straight. Had an issue with the delivery which was out of their control, they kept me informed and delivered the timber the next day. Will use Wern wood every time 10/10

By far the worst experience with a builders merchant.
By far the worst experience I have ever had with a builders merchant. £450 ordered on April 22nd, after 3 days with no call from Wern Wood I phoned for an update and was told my order would arrive on April 29th. Waited around all day...no delivery. Called first thing the next morning (30th) and was told it was out for delivery, again waited around all day...but, still no delivery. When it finally arrived on the 31st most of the order was incorrect/missing. Sopping wet C16 not C24 as ordered, square edge Siniat plasterboard not the Knauf tapered edge as advertised and ordered, insulation board missing, etc. I'm not sure on the legality of advertising one thing and then supplying another, but, Mason Hawke (director), after blaming his staff for the issues, offered a very weak apology and suggested I source the materials somewhere else after waiting another 5 days for a full refund!
Update 10.05.2025
I feel it is important to update this review with further failings of Wern Wood. No refund has yet been received even though Mason Hawkes stated on the 01.05.2025 it would be made "within" 5 working days.

While we acknowledge there was a genuine issue with a loading error on your order—and we sincerely regret any inconvenience caused—your portrayal of the situation is exaggerated and, unfortunately, misleading.
To address your claims:
The suggestion that I “blamed staff” is entirely false. I took full responsibility during our conversation, explained the situation transparently, and promptly processed a full refund when it became clear you no longer wished to wait for a realistically resolution.
Your omission of key details, such as the fact that our driver went beyond our standard kerbside delivery policy by carrying items to a substantially non-kerbside location, paints an incomplete picture.
Additionally, your refusal to allow the lorry to be reloaded unless a discount was offered created unnecessary complications, making it difficult to resolve the situation amicably.
We take pride in our strong reputation, built on the overwhelmingly positive feedback from our customers. Our reviews speak for themselves, and we work tirelessly to ensure a high standard of service. Constructive criticism is always welcomed, but your approach—consistent with the tone of some of your previous reviews—was unnecessarily combative, which made finding a resolution more challenging.
As a business, we’re proud of our reputation and the relationships we build with customers. In this case, however, it’s clear that continuing any future dealings would not be productive for either party. We wish you the best with your project and any future suppliers you choose to work with.
