I wanted an Anna Louise Clematis. I had one in the past for a few years but eventually lost it. This clematis was available for delivery from Westcountry Nurseries for what I thought was a very reasonable price, so I ordered one. It was shipped immediately and a day or so later I received a sturdy little cardboard box. Guessing what it would be I took great care when opening it. The clematis within was very carefully packed with newspaper for protection and was in excellent condition with three potential flowering shoots. Straight away I put the little pot, just as it was for now, outside in the garden (raining) in a sheltered spot. Taking note of the instructions and advice leaflets that accompanied the clematis, when it eventually stopped raining (three or four days later!) I transplanted it into a very large pot. I seem to have better luck with clematis in pots rather than in the ground, so wanted to give it a good chance. It's looking good and I am looking forward to it growth and blooms in the summer.

Lovely healthy clematis arrived speedily from West Country nurseries. Appreciate the eco, old-newspaper, protective packaging too.

I saw some poor reviews, but decided to order from West Country Nurseries anyway. Glad I did - everything was 5 stars. Ordered 5 Monarda late on Monday afternoon, they were delivered less than 2 days later on Wednesday morning. They were all in excellent condition and very well packed. Good communication throughout. And delivery was free - special offer in July. Couldn't have been better. Recommended.

Have ordered many Lupins over the years and been completely satisfied. However ordered 4 this year and one died virtually straight away. Emailed to tell them this and after 10 days they haven’t responded. Won’t be ordering or recommending again.

Ordered 2 young lupins (Salmon Star) which arrived promptly. One looked fine but the other, as I told Sarah in an email as soon as I was able to, was not acceptable with leaves detached and the centre looking not viable. It is now obviously never going to grow despite the second being perfect. A photo taken on receipt was attached to the email. This has been followed up by a further unanswered email and phone calls. The phone has been on answerphone and a message has not been responded to. No comparison with the vast majority of other nurseries I have dealt with ...

I ordered on Monday , explained that I had a holiday booked at the end of next week. They dispatched the order on the same day . It arrived in the far north of Scotland ( GPO) on Wednesday. In perfect condition . Well packed . Plants were a decent size and well rooted ( still in their pots + soil) . Now that’s what I call service ! I shall be placing another order as soon as a couple of other colours are available. The Lupins which I ordered 8 years ago are still going and have survived-18c .

Our experience is very similar to others. We purchased two lupins. They were shipped wrapped in newspaper in a cardboard box. All shoots were found to be broken on opening. I am not sure if they were broken prior to selection, during packing or during shipment. We immediately sent photos to the owner, Sarah Conibear, who emailed us to say new shoots would grow once we planted them. She offered a refund if we returned the plants at our cost. We decided to plant them. Three weeks on and there was no glimmer or life - the crowns appear to be rotten. We tried contacting Ms Conibear by email asking for a refund and sent two chasers. There has been no response. This is a family company and they trade on the back of their four Chelsea Gold medals. We had expected better. Well, we feel well and truly conned, Ms Conibear.

Received a lupin that was no more than a stump with two small leaves - dead. One other was a little better - now with one leaf. The other two had leaves and are hanging on in the garden. Never again.

I certainly won’t be ordering anything from this company. Like many other people I ordered 4 lupins from them, they arrived, badly packaged and almost dead.3 have now died. They were old plants allowed to produce some leaves but the core of the old plants were rotten. I have sent numerous emails but like others no reply. Having spent £10.50 for each plant and twice the postage than other plant companies I feel this company is ripping us gardeners off. Can anything be done about them?

I found a particular lupin I was after at this nursery online and ordered. Was a bit worried when I read the reviews here but I needn't have been. Lupins were dispatched very quickly indeed and are nice healthy plants of expected pot size etc.

Sent the wrong plant two years running. No answer at all to two emails prkoviding full details of their error. Shoddy professional practice.

Received lupins in very poor condition. All have now died except one which is barely alive. Customer service is very poor. I received one email which blamed me for how plants arrived??? No refund, no explanation - nothing. I would never order from this company again & would advise to keep clear of them.

Similar experience. Plants died shortly after delivery ;sent numerous emails, left message on phone but no response. They clearly aren't concerned about customers and hope complainers will go away.Don't buy from them.

I purchased 10 species of epimedium plants in March. When they arrived, I was astonished to find that they were newly potted up and hardly visible. In my view they were sent out far too early and only 3 of them survived. I emailed the company to let them know but never received a reply. To say I was disappointed was an understatement. I purchased the same plants from another nursery - they were 10 times bigger, and every one of them has flourished. It is my first and last purchase from this nursery.
