Dealing with Zero Waste Medals was so easy and the end result - twelve medals for friends - was perfect and just what I had in mind. Customer service - whom I contacted often - was excellent. It has been a long time since I've had customer service that good.

You get what you pay for!

I am part of a charity who organises a run every year and after doing some research for wooden medals, I came across ZeroWasteMedals. They are charity-friendly and their prices are very competitive. Based on reviews I read and photos I saw of some sample medals, it felt like this was a good option for us and my team agreed. While the reps I interacted with were quite friendly and eager to accept my business, the service was very slow after that.

I had to spend time chasing them for an update on the proof of design. Then when I received the proof, it wasn't what was agreed upon so I sent it back. Later I had to chase for an update on when it might ship as the deadline was approaching. Then my order arrived almost 2 weeks later than the date which was agreed and they had received my order within their lead time ranges.

Unfortunately, it didn't get better from here. When my order arrived, I had all of one type of medal even though my e-mail clearly stated the different designs including my own designer's proof of concept images. Since the order arrived a few days before my event, rather than the 2 weeks before as I had requested, that didn't leave much time to correct my order. In addition, I was short 26 medals and my order was for 1000. The medals weren't even grouped in the same quantity of bunches which made it a nightmare to count for my team (one bunch of 15, one of 22, one of 18)...there was no rhyme or reason. After contacting them to fix this, they offered a solution which included sliders with the missing information for the medals. They luckily sent those over quickly since the event was 4 days away!!! The sliders were all loose in a box so when I counted them several times I was short 76 sliders to correct the original mistake on my medals!!! The funny part is there was a form inside the box that stated it was quality and quantity checked, which I found ridiculous. I also had to put sliders on close to 1000 medals, which took me hours.

Many runners complained that the sliders kept falling off the ribbon and the ribbons were of poor quality and frayed. It's been almost a month since the event and I requested a partial refund which was granted based on the evidence. Unfortunately, I'm still chasing them for this partial refund.

While I appreciate companies who are charity-friendly as we're trying to save on costs as much as possible, I think I will go elsewhere in the future. The amount of time I had to spend chasing them, fixing their mistakes by adding sliders on the medals, the poor quality of the ribbons and the unnecessary stress just doesn't seem worth it for me. I really had high hopes when I placed my order, but it was disappointing in the end.

Helpful on the phone. Fast turnaround. Medals supplied were just what I wanted. Great value for money. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because the detailed and clear instructions I provided in my email order weren't read, not just once but twice! Otherwise, the service was fantastic.

We've used Zero Waste Medals for a few years now. Once again they didn't disappoint. They even pricematched for us on a cheaper quote we had received! Can totally recommend.

These are the fourth set of medals I have ordered, and the best yet!! This time I went for ceramic medals, which suited the design for my charity event really well. The help and advice from the sales and design team was superb, from suggesting ribbon colours to finalising the design. Brilliant!
