My son has the time of his life!
My son has the time of his life in Philly! He found the history, Amish countryside and amazing architecture so fascinating. This trip was 100% worth every penny! He is still telling me facts he learned on the trip. Solid friendships, hotel room stay over, pool open until 10 and days filled with walking and absorbing all that Philly has to offer.

8th Grade Washington DC Field Trip
On several days, weather and timing required us to adjust our itinerary, but our tour guide, Adam Langley, did an excellent job ensuring we still saw everything we came to experience and made the most of the time we had. Adam was incredibly knowledgeable, shared great stories about each site, and kept the students engaged by giving them small “assignments” that encouraged them to interact more meaningfully with the memorials and monuments we visited. We were fortunate to see an impressive number of sites, including the Washington Monument, the World War II Memorial, the Iwo Jima Memorial, the Spy Museum, the Holocaust Memorial Museum, a tour of the U.S. Capitol that included access to the House Floor, the 9/11 Pentagon Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery where we watched the Changing of the Guard, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, and the Lincoln Memorial. We also visited several Smithsonian museums as well as the National Museum of African American History and Culture.

Missed flight home
Missed flight home due to traffic. Isn’t the the tour guides responsibility to know about traffic and plan accordingly? Group also was not checked in ahead of time so when they arrived at the airport 30 minutes before the flight they weren’t even allowed to go through security because they didn’t have their boarding pass to try to make their flight. Poor planning all around.

For the most part the whole experience was wonderful!
For the most part the whole experience was worth the time to send my child to the this time withbhis fellow students. He enjoyed the time spent with his friends and his chaperone. And would like to attend other trips through this company. I really liked how easy it was to manage the whole paying process and the fact it made it so easy to attain.

Final Thoughts on Gettysburg/DV
Overall, we had a positive experience. We really enjoyed our trip. For me, I liked not being the one in charge of it all. As I stated previously, our driver made a huge impact on our trip. He was phenomenal. I had mixed feelings on our WorldStrides guide. I know there was a last minute change up in guides due to a death in the original guide’s family. I feel like our guide isn’t a good fit for middle aged kids. He often acted irritated with them. He didn’t connect with them. When I spoke to him one on one, I enjoyed the conversation. A guide can make or break a trip. There were many times, he lost their attention completely.

Unprepared Company
DONT USE THIS COMPANY My trip got canceled because of a shortage of drivers. This was a trip me and my friends were looking forward to this whole school year. I called the company and they said because a driver was sick. why doesnt this company have backup drivers and have plans made beforehand so things like this dont happen. World-strides genuinely took something away from kids that is a once in a lifetime thing for most

Don’t do it!
My son and the entire eighth grade have been excited to go to Washington D.C. for years. They had their roommates picked out, snacks for the bus and matching pajamas. The expected departure was 7:00pm. At 5:30 pm, parents were told to wait until contacted before coming to the school, as the buses would be late. For some reason, the buses were in ANOTHER STATE! Our school contacted us at 9:45 to let us know the entire trip was cancelled because of World Strides and the bus issue. What a huge freaking disappointment!
