Great Customer Support

Payroll failure
Accountants World failed to direct deposit my clients payroll. We submitted everything on time on our end. They had no explanation, and no resolution. We had to scramble to initiate same day wire transfers to employees across the country, incurring wire and banking fees, not to mention a full day of office time for two of my employees devoted to this issue. 30+ phone calls later, usually with them promising to have a manager call me back who never did, and finally I get a response that they wont reimburse the wire fees. This was their mistake, and we had to pay for it. Crazy. Don't use this company. The pricing is attractive, but I wish we didn't switch.
Great Payroll Software
Our accounting firm has used Accountants World for the last two years and have been using their After-the-Fact Payroll Software for our corporate clients. I was pleasantly surprised on how this software program is user friendly and amazingly affordable! I highly recommend this product.
Easy to use with GREAT support
Payroll Relief is so easy to use and customer support is the best I have experienced. I really enjoy that each section has its own help page specific to that section making it really quick and easy to find answers. When I have to call in I'm always answered within 5 minutes and the staff is so pleasant every time. Bravo!

Good program and customer, prices have gone up and the functionality has not changed very much. Hard to make money as a small provider of payroll services.
My go to platform
I moved my client processing over to AccountsWorld in 2010 looking for a true cloud-based client collaboration platform. I found a company responsive to my needs providing me a top rate product that is always looking for new features to add to their already robust software. Unlike other software vendors that will sell to anyone with payment in hand, AccountantsWorld only sells to accountants. The system puts the accountant, not the client, in the driver's seat of who runs the engagement. Utilizing their Power Practice platform allows me to provide any level of service needed, from after the fact write-up to full CAS and outsource CFO services.
Pricing is Out of Control
I have generally been very happy with the support I receive from Accountants World, particularly from Janet. She is the best and very helpful. My only issue with Accountants World is the constant price increases and the timing of the price increases is also bad. Price increases need to be announced in September or October for a January 1 Effective Date. If I am going to pass along a price increase to my clients, I certainly cannot do it in the middle of a year. I commit to pricing for each calendar year. So, each time Accountants World increases prices other than on January 1, I get stuck eating the increase out of my own pocket until the New Year starts. And, it feels like Accountants World just keeps increasing the fees the most for small providers like myself. If you don't issue at least 7,000 checks per year, you can't win with Accountants World. Maybe they are trying to tell me to look elsewhere because they don't want small clients like me.

We have been with AccountantsWorld for 10 years starting with Payroll Relief and moved into Accounting Power a year later. Are the programs perfect? No but they are still good products. Payroll Relief allows us to prepare payrolls for clients throughout the US. Accounting Power has helped us grow geographically because it is web based. Power is more logical than many of the alternatives out there now. It offers a interface that the client can follow but gives us a the accountant more back end power to help the client. Support would get a 3.5 star from me most times. It does seem that support wants to "speed you through". In the end we usually get our problems solved. For the price there is great value here.
WE have a problem with the programmers…
WE have a problem with the programmers in that they are not looking at the Conn W-3 for 2019 Section 1 and section 2 have to reconcile. The program is taking the amount from line 6 ( Payments) from the Ct 941 and carring it over to section Section 2 of the Form W-3 which is the tax withheld for the quarter. So if there is a refund the amount is overstated by the amount. If there is an underpayment there is a shortage.
One of the suggestion was to do manual. What is the sense of the program then

Not Recommended. Zero training, poor support, and in adequate functionality. It is sold as the end all solution with great integration when I have found it does not handle complex payrolls at all, the various electronic payment filing is suited for only larger clients, and the price continues to rise with the functionality not improving. Worst of all is all the issues relating to their servers. I cannot even bring up the log in page right now! This is not a rare occurrence and is even more frequent when opening other windows such as having Accounting and then wanting the Cloud open. The original will stay open but the next window comes up with an error often forcing multiple attempts to open. Worst part is, I just switched to this software and cannot afford the headache of switching again so soon. Between the stress of it all and the probability of losing clients that occurs every time a major change occurs.
Terrible! Terrible!
The software is proving to be very unstable, and the programming staff only pay attention when the issue affects a large number of customers. I have been having an issue related to management reports for 6 weeks, during which I have called at least 30 times. It seems programming is out of ideas, or unconcerned. And forget about escalation, because you get told that the higher ups will call back but they never do. This outfit is the worst!

Cloud-Based Suite of Accounting solutions built for accountants. Different from other programs. This is cutting-edge software, allowing me to scale my business beyond where any of the other popular Accounting applications would take me. I have used many of them and AW is hands down the future of the profession.
Awful customer service
I wish I had read these reviews before purchasing. The customer service is horrendous. Waiting on an issue that hasn't been resolved for 3 weeks now. It has cost me several clients.
Also the Payroll Relief is complicated and time consuming.

I do not recommend. I wish I spent more and get an adequate payroll program. You can not amend a payroll tax return. What software prepare a form and then you can not make changes. The program is old, outdated and cause a lot of problems. Their staff people also gives you a lot of wrong information causing problem with the State. They told me that I have to get forms off the internet to make a basic amendment. (report additional wages) What is the point of having their software. (horrible and I will start enrolling new clients in a different software program).
Customer service is the worst I've …
Customer service is the worst I've seen. All they do is talk, no one takes action and there is no follow-up when making requests for services. This is an antiquated system. The Cloud Cabinet is a joke. Clients have difficulty using it and when I asked for it to be removed, I am told it cannot be removed. The content on Newsletters is just copied from everywhere else, nothing original. And if you don't comply with their full services, you get nothing. I set standards for my company. When a service provider cannot meet those standards in the slightest, they must go. Stay away!
Not a Payroll Program you want to purchase
It is absurd some of the functions one must go thru just to set up and process a payroll using Accounts World payroll program. The entire time we were setting up the program we felt that we were working with a want to be company.
Input the payroll on their payroll input page is almost a joke, the page has all of the appropriate columns for employees, hours, OT, Vacation, etc., most of which will not be used. Can you go down the list of employees to post the hours, no, one must tab thru all eight columns to get to the next employee hour column.
One would think that when you send out the payroll reports with payroll there would be a time sheet enclosed for the next payroll, especially for small companies. Not with Accounts World, you must generate a separate sheet and separate email to the client, 9 extra steps to accomplish this task.
Client support is dismal at best and if you are on the west coast have your needs in the morning, they are closed for the most part in our afternoon and evenings. While they do have some support until 4:00 PST. After that, nada. Additionally, we found some of the staff to be not well informed as to how the program functions. The one highlight was a Nicole Savastano, very easy to work and relatively knowledgable.
These are just a couple of the issues that make this program no workable for us.
