This company is fraud do not use. Appliance repair team is a fraudulent company that needs to be shut down by the Ontario government. They do not have a workforce that shows up to appointments scheduling and rescheduling. They fraudulently charge for parts they do not deliver. Their front facing customer service is trained to frustrate customers and deceive them for example they say management doesn’t work on weekdays and when you call on Saturday they say they don’t work on weekends. They have no recourse for refund and chargeback requests. They seem to have the same playbook and the Ontario authorities must shut down this scam that seems to be targeting seniors.

If I could give zero stars, I would.
First problem: I arranged for a service call from 3-6pm. At 5:30pm, I called to see what the status of the repair specialist was and if they were on their way.
I was told that the service time was moved from 5-8pm. I was not informed of this but the receptionist insisted that they had called. They hadn't.
Second problem: the receptionist claimed that I had 2 numbers on file. I only gave one. Of course the incorrect number was called. They said that the number was out of service. They did not call the other number (the one and ONLY number I gave them.
Third problem: They moved the new service period to 5-8pm. I waited until 8pm. Nobody showed up. I had to leave. I had been waiting for 5 hours!!! I got a call after 8pm saying the service technician had arrived. Too bad. You are fired.

**BE VERY CAUTIOUS BEFORE HIRING THIS COMPANY.**

Our experience with Appliance Repair Team/The A Team Appliance Repair has been extremely frustrating.

We hired this company to repair a refrigerator that was leaking. **After SIX service visits, the refrigerator is STILL LEAKING.**

Even more concerning, during one of the visits, **their own technician verbally told us he could not fix the refrigerator and advised us to ask the company for a refund.** The company now says that statement isn't in their technician's notes. I know what was said to us, and the fact that it wasn't written in their internal notes doesn't change the conversation we had.

The refrigerator belongs to my **88- and 86-year-old parents**, who have continued dealing with water on their floor and having to mop it up. This isn't merely an inconvenience—it creates a serious fall hazard for two elderly people.

I tried to compromise. I offered to let the company **keep the actual documented cost of the parts they installed and simply refund the remainder of what we paid.** They refused even that.

Their solution after SIX unsuccessful visits? Send another technician.

Their own written response acknowledges that the refrigerator continues to leak and requires further service. Yet they refuse to provide any full or partial refund.

I have retained the invoices, correspondence, service history and documentation relating to this entire experience.

Consumers should do their research before hiring any appliance repair company. **I wish we had done more research before hiring this one.**

Horrible company will rip you off. They came to my house told me it's a service fee of $80, which I didn't mind paying. All the sudden told me that he can fix it I'll pay $280.. I said great and then he told me he needed a part which is going to be $411 additional to the $280.. I said get out of here I will buy a new dishwasher.
Do not use them they do come the same day but it is not worth it.

I was told over the phone that the service charge would be $80. However, when the technician arrived, I was told I would have to pay $250 plus tax just for the inspection/service, in addition to the cost of parts. The quoted parts were over $400 for a dishwasher repair. Over in total amount is $800+ with an old dishwasher.
I decided not to proceed because the total cost was much higher than I expected and, in my opinion, not reasonable compared with replacing the dishwasher.
I still had to pay the $250 plus tax even though the dishwasher was not repaired. Otherwise they said if I don’t pay the $250+tax they will send it to collection agency. So brutal to the customers.
Based on my experience, I strongly recommend asking for the complete pricing, including the service/diagnostic fee and potential parts and labour costs, before agreeing to anything. Be very careful and make sure you understand the charges before allowing any work to proceed.But over all zero review with this company.

The worst customer experience I have ever had to deal with! Called them to repair my washing machine. Technician showed up July 22. Didn’t have the right parts, charged me half the cost and said parts ordered and will be back in a couple of days to finish. Over a week later showed up and said he needed a different part. After many phone calls to get my washer finally fixed I finally got an appointment August 21st to finish the job. Went to do a wash August 22(one month) later only to find the washer still is not working. Called them to report this and was told it will be at least 48hrs until they can get an authorization number to even come back. At this point I’m in well over $1000 and still no working washer. Please save yourselves the money and hassle and stay away. I have never done a review before just to show how awful this experience has been.

We called A Team Appliance Repair to look at our dryer. They were quick to come on the same day, stating a fee of $ 80 just to come. If we decide to let them repair, that fee will be waived. The technician came and said if he could repair it for a labor cost of $ 250 (plus tax). After he opened the dryer, he said it needed parts, including 2 rollers and a door switch, and quoted a total of $ 396.53 for those parts. It took them a week for the parts to arrive, and they did not call us when it arrived. I had to call and chase them. They finally came 2 weeks later for the repair. I took a look at the parts: the door switch part WP3406107 only costs $ 34.59 from Amazon, and the other part (drum roller) 4392065 only costs 32.97. The whole thing with tax was about $ 80, but they charged us 396.53, FIVE TIMES the cost if you bought it yourself. WHAT A RIP OFF!!! I could have bought a brand NEW dryer for less !!

July 11th 2026, I called to ask for someone to check on my non functioning refrigerator and within a few hours a technician arrived and estimated it would cost me $1722.58 to repair it (compressor Assy, Evap coil kit R600 fill up and labor) The original LG cost me $1499 plus tax October 2021. I was advised by the technician not to buy any fridge for less than $2,500, we also discussed the one year warranty and the $400 extended warranty. He told me there would be a 5 year warranty on the repairs he quoted. Based on that I told him to go ahead with the order. He told me the parts would be in on the following Tuesday and someone would be in on the Thursday to install them. No one come Thursday or Friday but did get a call on Saturday telling me the work could be done on Sunday. I had told the original technician we were going away on that Sunday for a week. While we were away I had another call saying the work could be done but I explained again we were away and not back until The next Sunday. I had expected to hear from someone on the Monday we were back, telling me when to expect a technician to come. No call...so I called and had no response, I called two more days before I was finally given a date for the repair...Sunday August 1, three weeks from first visit.. After the repair was done I called their office asking them to send me a printout of the 5 year warranty, what I was sent to me was a note saying 30 day warranty on labor and 1 year on parts not the 5 years I had expected. When I asked for an explanation I was told the technician told me the fridge should last at least 5 years after the repairs. My partner was there with me and the technician and we know that is not was said.

Do not use The A Team Appliance Repair. They engage in predatory pricing and deceptive business practices.

I was billed over $1,100 for a KitchenAid refrigerator repair. They collected $850.71 from me ($800.71 initial e-transfer + $50 for parts delivery). When I requested parts-only delivery to avoid further installation fees, they dropped off an evaporator fan motor (Part #W11396715) and a defrost thermostat harness at my door.

The actual OEM retail value of these parts is under $120 CAD combined. Charging $777.72 for $120 worth of uninstalled box components is a 500%+ markup. Furthermore, when I formally disputed this charge, management refused a partial refund, hiding behind signed paperwork and claiming they "waived" a $0.53 balance to consider the account closed.

They take advantage of consumers, demand non-reversible e-transfers, and overcharge astronomically for loose parts dropped on your doorstep. Save your money and hire a reputable local technician instead. Formal complaints have been submitted to Consumer Protection Ontario.

The worse thing is getting knowingly ripped off by these companies, but the best part is getting to review them.
They came to my home (late by the way) letting me know that there was an $80 charge for the visit, but they would be waved if you used our service. To do labor they wanted an extravagant amount. It was either lose the 80 right there or let them continue. I was very upset but after a long talk they convinced me (by lying) that your old device although old is worth fixing as they don't make them like that anymore and that the parts needed are generally only a little bit more. After an hours work, he told me it needed specific parts and the parts were 900.00!!! plus he told me the labor bill was 300. For the 1200, not including tax, i could've bought a brand new washer and dryer. I had to pay them the 300 though, and firmly told them fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice (which they tried to do again) shame on me. They fooled me once and i told them shame on your for stealing this money knowing what the cost would be (more than buying several appliances brand new). Did I mention they were late as well.
DO NOT LET THEM IN YOUR HOME THEY ARE BASICALLY TAKING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. Sadly, as you know, these SCHEMES where they have an outrageous minimum that will be wave if you pay the even more outrageous full price for work. I know we have all these experiences and it needs to stop and hopefully, the government will step in and make a law change. Please pass this on.

Filled an inquiry to setup a dryer repair check. Never confirmed a time and they still sent a technician. The technician they sent was not gas licensed so he couldn't even diagnose my dryer. So no check or repair was performed. And they are still trying to extort a diagnostic fee. If I could give them 0 stars. I would. Scam of a company.

Found the exact same parts for 75% less than they tried to charge me and they damaged my floor.
Completely enraged with the situation.

i want to express my sheer anger at getting charged $300 for an initial check on my fridge .I was told by technician by doing a service on the motherboard that it would fix the issue,it didn't and he proceeded to say that the evaporator fan motor needed replaced at a cost of $400 which he would reduce by $50 to $350.The part itself I can buy direct from Frigidaire for $116 .So the combined cost today and the new part if I went ahead with it would have cost me $650 + taxes.Before the technician had arrived today I had removed the freezer back cover for him and defrosted the ice and had also checked and cleaned the refrigerator coils.It took him all of 5 mins using a multi-meter to measure a few voltage readings so I'm really struggling to see why 5 mins of work cost $300 and it did not fix the problem. This is a complete rip off ,do not use this company

THE WORST COMPANY EVER, CUSTOMER SERVICE IS SO BAD THEY ARE RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL, AND THEY STOLE FROM ME. TOOK FOREVER TO DO ANYTHING AND BLAME THAT THEY HAVE A LOT OF APPLIANCE TO DEAL WITH.. THAT IS YOUR JOB. HAVING ADDING ALL THESE FEES MAKINE MY REFUND VIRTUALLY NOTHING LEFT.

I WOULD SO SUE THEM FOR MISCONDUCT, MISGUIDE AND OVERCHARGING. BUT I DON'T HAVE THE TIME AND EFFORT FOR THEM.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!! They are total scammers. We cancelled an appointment with them well in advance. The repair guy showed up anyway and left us with a 90$ invoice saying we never cancelled. Check them out they are all negative reviews on them and they are known for this scam. They are listed in the buyer beware list with consumer protection Ontario.

I was unaware about this company's reputation, as I just googled them because I needed to fix my oven and I got trapped with a SCAM. over the phone, they said they'd charge me $80+ tax for sending a technician as a "service charge". however, once the technician arrived to my house, he said it would be $250+ tax, even though he did not do anything, just checked my oven out by screwing and unscrewing a couple things. They told me it would cost $535 for replacing a part. when I researched the original part thats needed online, it was roughly $300. when I called them back again to ask about this price discrepancy, they told me it covered shipping/handling & installation fees. But, when we spoke with the technician prior to this, he said the $250+ tax that I previously paid already included the part installation fees. The technician also said that he only accepts cash, debit or e transfer which is very suspicious to me as on their website it states that credit card is accepted. This was a major mistake, please do not contact this scam company!!!

They’re very shady company, they don’t have a price list, the charge you based on how you look, I wouldn’t call them

Like every other review, my mother was taken advantage of by AJ from this fraudulent trash company. $80 service fee told to her over the phone, only for there to be a surprise $280 fee after all said and done. All the man did was disassemble the oven, “clean” it, and then say we need to spend $800 to replace something. Absolute lies! My mother was home alone and pressured to pay for this crap. The customer service team was especially useless. AVOID this fraud company.

I had the most horrible experience with the company. First off, it cost me $80 for the service call. That's ok, however, it went downhill from their. The repair guy said in order to see what's wrong he would have to do a diagnosis and the labour charge is 280.00 plus tax. My water was leaking all over the front of my washing machine so I was worried and signed the contract. I figured the $80 would be deducted. Not only was it not deducted but he then proceeded to tell me my washing machine needed Water Solenoids which will cost me an additional $383.24. I had no idea what "Water Solenoids" were. I had already signed for the diagnosis so they had my signature on the paper. It seemed strange that this would end up costing me $749.46 in total, which is almost the cost of a new Washing Machine. So I contacted the manufacturer, and their service guy from LG (which is the make of my washing machine) came and inspected it thoroughly at no cost. He told me it was not the machine,and that the leakage of water was coming from the clogged pipe attached to the laundry sink beside the machine. I then proceeded to call a plumber which was an additional $375 to have my drain under the sink de-clogged. After the plumber had de-clogged the drain there was no more water coming from my washing machine when I turned it on. He also said it had nothing to do with the LG Washing Machine. It was only 3 years old and after inspecting it, he said it was in perfect working condition! It was soley a plumbing issue. He felt so bad for me after looking at the work order that I had signed and said that he hates companies that are scammers. I called The A Team Appliance Repair to cancel the part they ordered at $383.24 and asked them to refund me the $280 diagnonsis charge as the issue was clearly not the machine. The inspection they did was false and they need to be reported to the Better Business Bureau which I will do now. This just happened a couple of days ago. They told me they would not refund me the $280 and also told me that I had to pay for the shipping and stocking price of the part even though I cancelled it. They said they would only return $52 and I have even yet to receive this money??? What a horrible and scamming company. PLEASE DO NOT and I emphasize this use this company.
